Lindsay Arnold, an 18-year-old Latin ballroom dancer from Provo, UT; Eliana Girard, a 21-year-old contemporary ballet dancer from West Palm Beach, FL; Dareian Kujawa, a 20-year-old contemporary dancer from St. Paul, MN; and George Lawrence II, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Decatur, GA, were the other four bottom-six vote-getting dancers still in danger of elimination during Wednesday night's broadcast, but they were saved by the So You Think You Can Dance judges.
The judges were required to eliminate two individuals, one male and one female, last night based upon their performances from the week prior but also their new routines performed Wednesday night. The judges asked four dancers -- Amber, Brandon, Eliana, and Dareian -- to each perform a solo routine and "dance for their lives" to help them determine which contestants should remain on the show.
Nigel, Mary and Christina did not make Lindsay and George dance again for them, because they admitted they had already come to the conclusion those two performers were good enough to move forward in the competition without a doubt.
After watching the four "dance for your life" performers and evaluating other criteria -- such as what the dancers' choreographers had to say about their talent, progress and potential in the competition -- the judges decided to send Amber and Brandon home.
Amber and Brandon were paired together after both losing their original partners the previous week. Lindsay was paired with Cole Horibe, Eliana danced with Cyrus Spencer, Dareian took the stage alongside Janelle Issis, and George was paired up with Tiffany Maher.
