Mariah Spears, a 19-year-old hip-hop dancer from Phoenix, AZ, and "Blu Print," a 20-year-old animation dancer from Atlanta, GA, were eliminated by So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy as well as guest judge Carly Rae Jepsen after they found themselves in the week's bottom-six dancers based on home viewer votes cast immediately following last Tuesday night's show, which featured the season's Top 16 finalists performing.
Jenna Johnson, a 19-year-old ballroom dancer from Salt Lake City, UT; Curtis Holland, a 19-year-old tap dancer from Miami, FL; Alan Bersten, a 19-year-old ballroom dancer from Minnetonka, MN; and Makenzie Dustman, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Temecula, CA, were the other four bottom-six vote-getting dancers still in danger of elimination prior to Mariah and Blu Print's ouster.
The judges unanimously chose to save Jenna right off the bat and then asked the other five performers to "dance for their lives."
The judges were required to eliminate one male and one female competitor last night based on their quick "dance for you life" solos and their performances from last night and the week prior. The judges also based their decision on other criteria including what their choreographers had to say about their talent and progress on the show.

Following the five solo performances and the night's rounds of dances, the judges chose to send Mariah and Blu Print home. Mariah and Blu Print were paired together this season.
Jenna's partner was Tucker Knox, a 23-year-old contemporary dancer from Nashville, TN. Curtis was paired up with Hayley Erbert, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Topeka, KS.
Alan danced with Malece Miller, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Los Angeles, CA and previously-eliminated contestant Jasmine Mason last week. Makenzie was paired up with Paul Karmiryan, a 21-year-old Latin ballroom dancer from Glendale, CA.
