So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy and guest judge Megan Mullally decided to eliminate no one during Thursday night's live results show on Fox, which was supposed to feature the eliminations of one male and one female dancer and reduce the Top 20 to the Top 18.

"I'm sorry to say, we've never ever done this, but we are not going to let anybody go home this week," Lythgoe announced at the end of Thursday night's live broadcast.

"But, let me say this. Listen very, very carefully. Don't get too excited. Two couples will go home next week. Don't get too excited, everybody."

Earlier in the episode, So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley had revealed the bottom three couples based on home viewer votes cast immediately following Wednesday night's performance broadcast.

The six members of the bottom three couples were each required to dance solos in their own style in an attempt to be saved by the judges and continue in the competition.

Jordan Casanova, an 18-year-old jazz dancer from Chino Hills, CA, and her partner Tadd Gadduang, a 25-year-old hip-hop dancer from Salt Lake City, UT; Clarice Ordaz, a 19-year-old jazz dancer from Whittier, CA, as well as Jess LeProtto, an 18-year-old Broadway dancer from Little Falls, NJ; and Miranda Maleski, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Pittsburgh, PA who currently resides in North Hollywood, CA, and her partner Robert Taylor Jr., a 31-year-old hip-hop dancer from Brooklyn, NY who currently resides in New York, NY, found themselves to be the bottom three vote-getting couples.

In addition, Mitchell Kelly, a 20-year-old contemporary dancer from Chicago, IL who currently resides in Atlanta, GA, was forced to join the bottom three couples and face possible elimination after he suffered an injury that prevented him from performing during Wednesday night's performance show, which featured the Top 20 contestants dancing in pairs.

"Unfortunately, Mitchell injured his elbow shortly after completing his first rehearsal. On our doctor's advice -- I know it's a shame -- we're asking him to rest. That means he can't perform tonight. It also means that he's automatically in danger of elimination tomorrow," Deeley announced at the beginning of Wednesday's So You Think You Can Dance show.
