Stephen Amell has joined the cast of the Suits spinoff Suits L.A.
Deadline reported Tuesday that Amell, 42, has landed the lead role in the upcoming NBC series.
Amell will play Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who now represents the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. The character finds his firm as a crisis point.
"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved," an official synopsis reads.
Variety confirmed Amell's casting.
Suits: L.A. will begin filming in Vancouver, Canada, in late March.
The series is a spinoff and extension of Suits, which had a nine-season run on USA Network from 2011 to 2019. The original show starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman and Meghan Markle.
Suits: L.A. is created and executive produced by Suits creator Aaron Korsch.
Amell is known for playing Oliver Queen on the CW series Arrow and Jack Spade on the Starz drama Heels. He will star alongside his cousin Robbie Amell in the upcoming Netflix film Code 8 Part II.
