Sundance Head is an artist on The Voice who blew Blake Shelton's brains out of his head and into a toilet that flushed itself, at least according to the mainstay coach.

In this week's "Battle Round," Blake paired Sundance with Dan Shafer for an epic performance of "Feel Like Making Love" by Bad Company. Although Dan certainly delivered an impressive vocal, it was Sundance who surpassed Blake's expectations.

When Reality TV World asked Sundance if he felt particularly nervous going into his battle, the 37-year-old bearded artist from Houston, TX, replied, "I think once you get up there and you lose your nerves then maybe you should just quit."

He elaborated, "If it's not that exciting to you any more then you probably don't need to be doing it. That's the way I look at it."

In preparing for his battle, Sundance got to work with Blake's team adviser, Bette Midler, as well.

"I was so surprised whenever I found out that it was her. I've been a fan of hers my whole life and it's just amazing to be able to see someone that you've admired for so long," Sundance explained to reporters during a conference call.

"And, I mean, she is such a sweet person, you know, to talk to and everything. I was really excited to meet her, and as soon as she smiled, it was like a smile that I'd known my whole life, you know? It's just so weird. I felt like I've known her forever. Real neat, man."

Sundance revealed what "the key" to winning his battle happened to be.

"Well, I try to approach every song as if it's a song that I have in my heart, and I try really hard to figure out how to make that song a reflection of me. And, also, you know, going against Dan, I knew that I really had to bring it because Dan's a really sweet guy and he's got a lot of experience and a really great voice," Sundance confessed.

"So, you know... Every time that I step on the stage, I'm going out there to try to win whether it's a battle against myself or someone else. I'm always trying to improve and I try to take every opportunity that I can to improve. And, that's about it."

Sundance joked that when he first learned the song the pair would be singing together, he thought it was "kind of weird."

"But it turned out that it was an amazing song, and the chemistry was really great between the both of us. And I think the harmonies turned out really well," Sundance confessed.

"So, you know, whenever I first heard about it, I did think it was kind of strange, but you've got to leave that stuff up to the people that are professional that have been making decisions like that before I've been, you know, on the show.

Sundance therefore decided to just trust Blake on this one.

"I just keep my mouth shut and I do what I'm told to do," he admitted. "And, I'm very happy that it went well for me and I wish Dan the best."
