Now that "Survivor: Africa" is drawing to a close, the reality-based show is finally starting to get a boost in ratings. The series finally managed to reach numbers matching last season's "Survivor: The Australian Outback." Thursday's (Jan. 3) episode pulled the "Survivor's" highest ratings since the premiere of its third season.

Over 21.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the Moto Maji members vote off Teresa and pare down to the final four players. That's an increase of over 2 million viewers from last week's episode and an increase of 1.5 million over the show's season-to-date average. Among adults 18-49, the show pulled an 8.7 rating/ 20.
"Survivor" not only beat a repeat of "Friends" in viewers for only the second time this season ("Survivor's" 20.2 vs. "Friends'" 16.7), but it also beat football's Rose Bowl (19.0 million from 8-8:30 p.m.), according to Nielsen final national data.
