Survivor and The Amazing Race will both be returning and airing back-to-back with supersized episodes on CBS this fall.

Each week, Survivor and The Amazing Race will each air as a 90-minute episode, culminating in a three-hour night of "adventure and challenges" and fan-favorite reality television.
Survivor will air from 8-9:30PM ET/PT and be immediately followed by The Amazing Race from 9:30-11PM ET/PT.

CBS made the announcement when unveiling the network's 2023-2024 primetime programming lineup, but specific premiere dates for both series have yet to be disclosed.
CBS attempted a similar "Reality Night" on programming on Wednesday nights in Fall 2022, with The Real Love Boat, a new reality dating series that was hosted by real-life couple Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, airing in the 10-11PM ET/PT timeslot and Survivor and The Amazing Race airing hour-long episodes earlier in the evening.
However, The Real Love Boat only aired four episodes on CBS before it was moved to the network's Paramount+ streaming service due to poor ratings.
Survivor's 45th season will once again be hosted by Jeff Probst, while Phil Keoghan will also resume his role on The Amazing Race.
Survivor premiered its 44th season on March 1 and is currently airing one-hour episodes on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT, with its latest episode having featured an elimination that determined its Final 6 castaways.
The remaining castaways on Survivor 44 hoping to outwit, outplay and outlast -- and ultimately win the $1 million grand prize -- are Carolyn Wiger, Carson Garrett, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Jaime Lynn Ruiz, Lauren Harpe, and Yamil "Yam Yam" Arocho.
The Amazing Race's 34th season concluded in December 2022 with Big Brother couple Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss winning the $1 million.

The couple, who met on Big Brother in Summer 2021 and began dating in October of last year, were only dating for nine months when they left to compete on The Amazing Race together.
The cast of both Survivor and The Amazing Race's new seasons will be announced at a later date.
CBS' fall schedule announcement includes the returns of most of its popular scripted shows as well as several new dramas, suggesting the network expects the Writers Guild of America strike will be over in time for the Fall 2023 season.
The Writers Guild of America launched a strike against the major Hollywood studios on May 2 for the first time in 15 years.
Similar to what occurred when the last Writers Guild of America strike began in late 2007, reality TV shows are expected to become vital programming for networks and streaming services in the coming months as scripted shows cease production due to the strike.
The last writers strike began in November 2007 and ended more than three months later in February 2008.
Television networks attempted to fill their schedules with numerous replacements that included everything from imports of non-American scripted TV dramas to a variety of additional unscripted programming like the first-ever winter season of Big Brother.
While CBS appears to be anticipating a short WGA strike that will result in minimal disruption to the fall premieres of its scripted television dramas and comedies, ABC seems to be planning for opposite and recently unveiled a fall schedule completely devoid of new scripted programming.

In addition to the debut of a new senior-citizen spinoff of The Bachelor dubbed The Golden Bachelor and the return of Dancing with the Stars from Disney+, ABC's fall schedule features new seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, Shark Tank, and numerous news and game shows.
