Survivor: David vs. Goliath will star a cast of 20 new castaways fighting to win $1 million when the series' 37th season premieres on CBS later this month.

CBS has announced the identities of the 20 castaways who will compete to be crowned the "Sole Survivor" this spring when Survivor: David vs. Goliath premieres with a 90-minute episode on Wednesday, September 26 at 8PM ET/PT. (The finale of Big Brother's 20th season will air immediately afterward).

Survivor: David vs. Goliath will divide the 20 castaways into two groups of 10 strangers.

The players include a professional wrestler, a robotics scientist, an MMA fighter, a physician, and a S.W.A.T. officer.

Survivor's next edition will chronicle people perceived as underdogs -- who have had to overcome many obstacles in life -- pitted against accomplished or charming individuals, who may be strong, well educated or born wealthy.

"'Goliaths' often have visible advantages, and they capitalize on them to ensure success, whereas 'Davids' are often forced to rely on their secret weapons and use these advantages to overcome adversity," Survivor host and executive producer Jeff Probst said in a statement.

"It's two very different approaches to life, but Survivor is the great equalizer, because you never know which skill set will be most useful in this cunning game of social politics."

Every Goliath "has an Achilles heel," while every David "has a secret weapon," according to the network.

The newbie castaways will be forced to compete against each other with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast each other.

Beginning on Wednesday, October 3, Survivor: David vs. Goliath will move into its regular time period of 8-9PM ET/PT.

This season will once again be set in the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji.

- Nick Wilson, a 27-year-old public defender from Williamsburg, KY, who currently resides in London, KY

- Davie Rickenbacker, a 30-year-old social media manager from Orangeburg, SC, who currently resides in Atlanta, GA

- Pat Cusack, a 40-year-old maintenance manager from Cohoes, NY, who currently resides in Watervliet, NY

- Carl Boudreaux, a 41-year-old truck driver from Beaumont, TX, who currently resides in Houston, TX

- Jessica Peet, a 19-year-old waitress from Lakeland, FL

- Elizabeth Olson, a 31-year-old kitchen staffer from Dallas, Fort Worth, TX, who currently resides in Longview, TX

- Gabby Pascuzzi, a 25-year-old technical writer from St. Augustine, FL, who currently resides in Denver, CO

- Lyrsa Torres, a 36-year-old airline agent from Puerto Rico, who currently resides in Boston, MA

- Bi Nguyen, a 28-year-old MMA fighter from Houston, TX
