Survivor: Edge of Extinction veteran castaways David Wright and Kelley Wentworth were voted out of their Vata tribe at two separate Tribal Council sessions but both opted to continue in the competition on Extinction Island during the tenth episode of Season 38 on Wednesday night on CBS.

The Vata tribe first voted out David Wright, a 44-year-old television writer from Philadelphia, PA, who currently resides in Sherman Oaks, CA, and previously appeared on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X.

David became the tenth person voted out of the game, with Survivor host Jeff Probst revealing a 6-2 vote in which Dan "The Wardog" DaSilva received two votes on Night 25 at Tribal Council.
And later, Kelley Wentworth, a 31-year-old marketing manager from Ephrata, WA, who currently resides in Seattle, WA, and previously appeared on Survivor: San Juan Del Sur and Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance, was completely blindsided with a hidden Immunity Idol in her pocket.

Kelley became the eleventh person voted out of Survivor's 38th season on Night 27 of the game through a 5-4 vote instead of Aurora McCreary at Tribal Council.
"I'm impressed by the game move of the other players, but I'm pissed at myself because I had an idol in my pocket. I can't believe I'm that person, so now I'm that dumb Survivor player!" Kelley said following her vote-off.
David and Kelley, however, both decided to stay in the game and wait for an opportunity to possibly play again for the $1 million grand prize by traveling to the Edge of Extinction.
The Survivor broadcast began on Night 23 in the Vata tribe.
David was disappointed he and Rick Devens had played their hidden Immunity Idol unnecessarily, but it didn't matter because he was still in the game and knew he could trust Rick.

Meanwhile, Wardog sat down with Ron Clark, Lauren O'Connell, Kelley Wentworth, Julie Rosenberg and Gavin Whitson to discuss how they should stay loyal to each other until the Final 6.
The group agreed they wanted Aurora out next, and she was upset about having put her foot in her mouth at the previous Tribal Council. Aurora knew she let plans slip and created distrust.

On Day 25, the Vata tribe met Probst for the season's next Individual Immunity Challenge.
Each castaway was required to hold two long bars on their shoulders while balancing an urn on the poles, forcing them into a very uncomfortable, squatting position. If the urn dropped at any time, he or she would be out of the challenge.

However, the players were given an opportunity to sit out of the challenge and eat pizza, cold beer and root beer.
It was a big decision to make, and the castaways who chose to sit out of the challenge were Kelley, Lauren, Ron and Victoria Baamonde.
After 22 minutes of holding on, David and Aurora were the only ones left. David then made a mistake and dropped, allowing Aurora to win her second Individual Immunity of the season.
Julie was not thrilled Aurora won because she "really, really wanted her to go home." She didn't know what to do at this point.
Kelley thought the six were going to stay strong and so their options were either David, Rick or Victoria, since Aurora took herself off the chopping block.

Gavin wanted David out at the last Tribal Council, acknowledging he was a huge strategic threat. So Gavin was banking on taking out David, but Wardog was nervous to work with Gavin and Julie.

Meanwhile, David and Rick discussed voting out Wardog, and the guys assumed Victoria was with them. The guys thought this was an obvious vote since Wardog, Kelley and Lauren were a power trio.
David was well aware Wardog didn't want him in the game, and so he wanted to take out Wardog before Wardog made his move.
Victoria was onboard with David and Rick, and then David spoke to Aurora about the plan. Aurora agreed "the Lesu 3" were controlling the game and so she didn't see another option other to work with David and Rick.
David then planted seeds in Julie's mind about the dangers of keeping Kelley, Wardog and Lauren in the game together. David assured them the power three would skate their way to the end together.
That made Julie think about joining a Final 6 with Rick, David, Victoria, and Ron.
Julie approached Ron about this new strategy, but Ron thought David was "sneaky." He didn't want to "get into bed" with Wardog or David unfortunately, so he had to pick a side.
One thing was certain: Julie, Ron, Aurora and Victoria had to be on the same page. Julie was expecting "fireworks" at Tribal Council that night.
Once Tribal Council commenced, David and Rick announced they were playing a loyal game now and knew they were in trouble.

Julie admitted she was wondering if she was on the bottom of an alliance because she wanted to fly the plane and not be a passenger.
Kelley insisted just because she, Lauren and Wardog have voted with each other multiple times, that doesn't mean they are tight until the end.
Kelley argued no one knew the dynamics of their trio, but Rick argued they were a solid alliance that wasn't going to budge.
Ron said he and Julie made a decision based on the people who have treated them the best. With that being said, he called Wardog "aggressive and vocal."
David tried to insist he was loyal, but Lauren called him out on that since he had promised to never write her name down. Wardog also pointed out David was a "squirmer."
David knew Wardog was going after him, but David pleaded with his fellow castaways to not oblige to the easy vote because people were "drowning."
Kelley, however, was confident her group was going to stay together.
It then became time to vote. Once Probst was ready to tally the votes, no one played a hidden Immunity Idol.
Probst then read the votes in the following order: David, Wardog, David, Wardog, David, David, David, and David.
"No hard feelings guys," David told the tribe, "but I am going to claw my way back in."
David didn't hesitate to grab a torch and head to the Edge of Extinction.

On Day 26, David and the other players on Extinction Island were given seven bottles with a clue inside that read an advantage awaited them somewhere smooth, hollow and jagged. Everyone went off searching, but David ended up finding the advantage.
David was able to send an advantage to someone during the next Individual Immunity Challenge, and he was thrilled. He hoped this could flip his game around.
On Day 27, the Vata tribe met Probst for another Individual Immunity Challenge.
Each player was required to balance a large paddle on a stand while rolling the ball down the paddle, attempting to land it in a slot. The first person to get one ball into each of the five dimples would win immunity and be safe from the next vote.
Rick then announced David had given him an advantage for the challenge. Instead of five balls, Rick only had to land four balls, which Probst declared was "a big advantage."
Aurora and Ron were close, trying to land their fourth ball, but Rick pulled out a win and won immunity in the end.

Julie was praying the tribe could take out Aurora that night because she was a challenge beast as well as someone whom others might want to take to the end of the game.
Rick's closest ally in the game was gone, so he felt so great having immunity.

Wardog, Kelley, Julie, Lauren, Ron then discussed the six, which included Gavin, taking out Aurora through an easy vote.
However, Wardog realized Aurora had no ties to anyone in the game so it might be a perfect opportunity to make a big move and eliminate Kelley.
Wardog then revealed he had conversations with Victoria, Aurora and Rick to target Kelley because it would be in their best interest to work with him since they were on the bottom.

Wardog figured it would be tough to convince Ron to oust Kelley, but he did his best.
Ron didn't like how Wardog was "so unpredictable," but he admitted Kelley was the biggest threat remaining regardless.
Kelley was nervous because the vote seemed too easy and everyone was calm. She knew one person could get the ball rolling to take her out, but she was thankful to have a hidden Immunity Idol.
Aurora feared she was in trouble, but she had been given an extra vote from someone on the Edge of Extinction. In order to gain favor and trust, she told Ron about the advantage and said she'd give it to him if she got voted out.
Ron said he could work with his original alliance to take out Aurora -- and steal her advantage -- or work with the three on the outs to vote out Kelley.

Ron knew this could be the difference between losing the game or winning $1 million.
At Tribal Council that night, Victoria pointed out she and Aurora were options for the vote; however, Ron admitted everyone was thirsty for another blindside because it was so exciting to be part of one.
Kelley told Probst everyone was starting to think about the endgame but people must stick with whom they trust in order to get there from the beginning.
Rick said everyone had searched camp for an idol and so the group consensus was that all of the advantages were on Extinction Island.
Little did they know, however, both Kelley and Lauren had idols to play.
When it became time to vote, Julie was expected the safe and easy decision, and she was later shown writing Aurora's name down.

No one played a hidden Immunity Idol and then Probst read the votes in the following order: Aurora, Kelley, Aurora, Aurora, Aurora, Kelley, Kelley, Kelley, and Kelley.
"Wow, guys," Kelley noted. "A lot of lying going on!"
Kelley headed right to the Edge of Extinction after walking out of Tribal Council.

Upon arriving at Extinction Island, she told all of the players she had an idol and Lauren was also still holding onto a hidden Immunity Idol.
The episode's closing credits later showed that Julie, Kelley, Gavin and Lauren all voted for Aurora while everyone else voted to oust Kelley from Survivor: Edge of Extinction.
