Survivor's 50th season is going to feature all returning players, according to longtime host Jeff Probst.

Jeff, 62, announced that Survivor's milestone 50th season will be a competition to outwit, outplay and outlast amongst veteran players, Variety reported.

Jeff made the announcement during a For Your Consideration event at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, CA, on Saturday, April 27 intended to promote Survivor for Emmy Awards consideration.

"Survivor 50 is coming down the corner. The truth is, we really do focus on [Seasons] 47 and 48, that's what we're heading out to shoot next," Jeff said.

"Then we have to shoot [Season] 49. But we know 50 is coming, so I am curious, is there a feeling? Should 50 be another season with new players and don't make it a big deal?"

During the Q&A session, most of the audience members shouted, "No," in reply, prompting Jeff to ask, "Or should it be returning players?"

The crowd applauded and yelled, "Yes," pushing Jeff to declare Survivor's 50th season one to looking forward to and be excited about.

"In the spirit of, sometimes letting the game be in the hands of the fans, I feel like -- and there a couple of people from CBS right now going 'Oh, my God, what is happening?' -- I feel like we should just commit and make this the moment where we decide that Survivor 50 will be returning players," Jeff said.

Jeff then asked Survivor executive producer Matt Van Wagenen, "Is this okay?" to which Matt, who has served as a producer since Season 14, nodded his head.

"I don't know what is going to happen after this, but I'm pretty sure we're committed," Jeff concluded.

Jeff proceeded to make the news official with a post uploaded to Instagram.

"About 10 seconds ago, we just decided, thanks to all the fans that were in attendance at the FYC event here in Hollywood, that Survivor 50 will be returning players -- and you all are part of it," Jeff declared.

Survivor premiered in May 2000. The first time Survivor featured a cast of returning castaways was Season 8, which was titled Survivor: All-Stars. The first time the series featured a cast of all former champions was Season 40, which was dubbed Survivor: Winners at War.

Since the start of Survivor's "new era" with Season 41, Survivor has not featured returning players, except for Bruce Perreault's second chance following his unfortunate medical evacuation from the show.

Survivor is currently airing its 46th season on Wednesday nights on CBS.

Jeff told People after the event that he continues to be passionate about Survivor, even after 25 years of being the show's host.

"I love Survivor. Still love it. And honestly, nothing makes me happier than seeing people who also like it," Jeff explained, adding how the show connects him to viewers, young and old.

"I know it seems crazy, but I love the job. I really do. I am naturally curious and I'm mostly curious about human behavior, why we do the things we do. And I've had a front-row seat to that for 24 years."

He added, "So when people say, 'I can't believe you're still so enthusiastic,' I say, 'Well, that's just because you don't know me. Because my friends know, 'Oh, Probst will do that forever. He loves this.'"

Jeff said he learns from Survivor players all the time how to live his life.

"And I know it sounds corny, but I think Survivor's an adventure and the game is the lure," Jeff explained.

"The experience is the prize. And that's why when it's over, you've played this fun game, found an idol, won a challenge, got a blindside under your belt, but when it's over, you're a different human. That's what's cool about Survivor."
