Survivor: Kaoh Rong -- Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty castaway Elisabeth "Liz" Markham was voted off her Chan Loh tribe during Wednesday night's broadcast on CBS.

Liz, a 27-year-old quantitative strategist from Brooklyn, NY, became the third castaway voted out of Season 32 on Night 8 at the game's third Tribal Council session. The Brains tribe had to vote out one of their own members after losing the prior Immunity Challenge.

"I was very confident that whether we won or lost, things would work out for me, and I really don't know what happened that made my tribe want to vote me out tonight. I don't think the numbers lied to me. It's the people who lied to me. And when you count fictitious promises, you get a fictitious total," Liz said following her ouster. 

In addition to Liz, the "Chan Loh" Tribe (Brains) was comprised of Peter Baggenstos, a 34-year-old ER doctor from Minneapolis, MN; Aubry Bracco, a 29-year-old social media marketer from Cambridge, MA; Joseph "Joe" Del Campo, a 72-year-old former FBI agent from Vero Beach, FL; Neal Gottlieb, a 37-year-old ice cream entrepreneur from Sausalito, CA; and Debbie Wanner, a 49-year-old chemist from Reading, PA.

The To Tang Tribe (Brawn) featured Cydney Gillon, a 23-year-old body builder from Douglasville, GA; Alecia Holden, a 24-year-old real estate agent from Dallas, TX; Kyle Jason, a 31-year-old bounty hunter from Detroit, MI; and Scot Pollard, a 40-year-old former NBA champion from Carmel, IN.

The "Gondol" Tribe (Beauty) was made up of Michele Fitzgerald, a 24-year-old bartender from Freehold, NJ; Anna Khait, a 26-year-old pro poker player from Brooklyn, NY; Nick Maiorano, a 30-year-old personal trainer from Redondo Beach, CA; Caleb Reynolds, a 28-year-old Army veteran and former Big Brother contestant from Hopkinsville, KY; Julia Sokolowski, a 19-year-old college student from Boston, MA; and Tai Trang, a 51-year-old gardener from San Francisco, CA.

The Survivor broadcast began on Night 6 with Scot telling Alecia he wrote her name down only because he knew there were already three votes against Jennifer Lanzetti and he had promised to never write her name down. Scot broke Alecia's trust and he was never going to get it back. Alecia thought she was aligned with Cydney, but Cydney was really close with the guys and just playing along to keep Alecia happy.

Scot told his tribemates they probably made a mistake in getting rid of Jennifer because they didn't have a good chance to win the next challenge. Scot also realized Alecia had power now, so he worried she'd make trouble for him down the road.

At Beauty's camp on Day 7, Tai went off to retrieve the hidden Immunity Idol he believed he had found high in a palm tree although he knew his tribemates liked him. Tai put sticks together with a tool, poked the bottom of the canister up in the tree, and then another clue popped out along with a key. The clue was a map leading Tai to the location of the idol locked in a chest underground.

Tai was ecstatic about finding the idol and then learned the game's new rules: If a player finds two idols, he or she could combine them into one Super Idol which can be played AFTER the votes have been read at Tribal Council. In that case, the two idols are basically a free pass to stay. Two different castaways could also put their idols together to make the Super Idol.

Over at the Brains tribe, Peter said he was part of a core alliance with Liz but they were also managing two separate pairs -- Debbie and Joe as well as Aubry and Neal.

Peter and Liz wanted a tighter group of more loyal players to work with come a swap or merge. Liz called Debbie their tribe's "court jester," Joe a "loyal soldier," Aubry a player who never talks strategy, and Neal a smart guy capable of potential blindsides.

Peter and Liz therefore planned to split the vote between Neal and Aubry, and then vote out Neal on the re-vote. They intended to vote Aubry and tell Joe and Debbie to vote for Neal. Liz and Peter believed they were totally in control, like they had their finger on the tribe's pulse.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Brains tribe disliked Liz and Peter. Debbie said Peter viewed himself as "superior" and Liz acted like a "Premadonna princess." Debbie knew Liz and Peter's goal was to take the rest of the tribe out, but Debbie wasn't going to let that happen. Debbie acknowledged Peter was an asset in challenges so Liz would make the perfect next target.

Debbie shared her plan with Joe, eventually bringing Neal and Aubry into it. Debbie thought she was using "better and smarter tactics" and was ready to fire away. She said no one paid attention to her and she sort of sunk into the background, but that's exactly what she wanted. Debbie was flying under radar all the while collecting "intel." 

At Beauty's camp, the tribe killed a chicken for food and Tai went off and cried. He didn't try to stop them, but taking a life made him really sad. Meanwhile, Nick was rubbing Anna the wrong way, and she thought he had "a fake smile." Anna spoke to Caleb about how he could team up with the three girls and get rid of Nick. Caleb didn't mind the plan as long as it kept him safe.

Over at the Brawn tribe, Scot was looking for an idol because he didn't trust Alecia. Alecia found a clue when she was walking with Cydney, and Jason saw the girls digging. Cydney had no intention to share the idol with Alecia, but she didn't know that. Back at camp, Cydney warned the guys Alecia had found a clue to secure their alliance and trust. Jason remembered where they were digging and went on a quest to find the idol.

Jason ended up finding the clue and then worked with Scot to get the key down from the canister up in the palm tree. When the key fell out, Alecia tried to grab it but failed. The two guys ultimately unlocked the idol underground together, and Alecia said it was confusing because it all happened so fast. Alecia figured she was back on the bottom.

Scot wished he had the idol to himself, but he was confident Jason would take care of him. The men agreed that Alecia was next. 

On Day 8, the three tribes gathered for the next Immunity Challenge, and Survivor host Jeff Probst explained the rules.

The castaways were required to jump off a platform, swim out to a boat, retrieve three huge bags of rice, work together to push and pull those bags through a small hole, make their way across a balance beam and up to the beach, and then tear open the bags and search for three balls. One member from each tribe then must balance on a beam while attempting to maneuver a ball through a maze of holes to place it at the very top.

The first tribe to get all three balls to the top would win immunity in addition to Reward. The first-place tribe would have a choice -- comfort such as pillows and blankets, or, emotional items they brought with them from home to remind them of their inspiration. The second-place tribe would receive whatever was left, and the last-place tribe would go to Tribal Council that night.

The Beauty tribe sat out Anna and Michele, and the Brains tribe sat out Aubry and Joe.

Beauty won the challenge, and then it was a close call between Brains and Brawn. Cydney and Debbie were going head-to-head trying to land their tribe's third ball in a slot at the top of the maze board. In the end, Cydney nailed it first and Brawn finished in second place. Beauty chose comfort, so Brawn got the personal items.

Once the Brains tribe returned to camp, Liz and Peter were ready to go after Neal because they thought he'd cause problems for them. They told Aubry and Neal to vote Joe, but they thought the tribe would be splitting their votes between Neal and Aubry.

However, Debbie wanted to "dish it back to Liz in spades." Debbie called her "oblivious" and warned Neal that Liz and Peter were after him because they thought he had an idol, which he didn't have.

Meanwhile, Peter was bragging about how he gave his tribe "paternal direction," made decisions for them because they were indecisive, and molded them like clay. Aubry called Peter "controlling" and said he had "no emotional intelligence." Debbie and Aubry went back and forth on whether they should vote Liz or Peter because Peter was such a big threat.

The girls agreed Peter was "narcissistic and egotistical" and revealed Tribal Council was going to include a huge blindside. Debbie knew that Liz and Peter would slit anyone's throat to get ahead.  

At Tribal that night, Peter explained to Jeff there were three voting units or pairs. Peter told everyone he was a professional at social interaction as everyone rolled their eyes at him and laughed. Peter then called Neal "a snake in ice cream pants," dictating openly that the vote was going to be split between Neal and Aubry.

Peter told Neal flat out to his face that his plan wasn't going to work, and Neal just smiled with the knowledge of what was about to go down.

Jeff then revealed the votes. Two people voted for Aubry, two castaways voted for Peter, and two players voted for Liz. The episode's closing credits showed that Neal and Aubry voted for Peter, while Debbie and Joe voted for Liz.

Because there was a three-way tie, the Brains tribe had a re-vote. Aubry, Liz and Peter couldn't vote, and everyone else had to vote for only one of those three people.

Jeff then revealed two people voted for Liz, sending her home. Peter said, "I'm so sorry" to Liz on her way out, and she wished Peter well in the game. Peter was shocked and yelled, "You guys!"
