Julia, a former Beauty tribe member, became the tenth person voted out of the tribe although 12 castaways have left the game overall -- two of them due to medical evacuations.
"I'm bummed, but I'm proud of the way I played. Being one of the youngest people who ever played this game, I feel like I had the opportunity to kind of grow up out here and learn a lot about myself. I did make some big moves and help contribute to some awesome blindsides. I didn't go out not trying; I didn't go out being dragged along. So, at least I know I played," Julia said following her ouster.
The Survivor broadcast began on Night 27 with Tai Trang bragging to the cameras about how the littlest guy in the tribe took the biggest guy this season, and Aubry Bracco was also thrilled about the turn of events because now they had the numbers.
Tai felt in control of his own game and had a lot of power still with his hidden Immunity Idol and extra-vote advantage. Kyle Jason told Julia that it will be tough to get Tai out now, lamenting about how the only thing that could've gone wrong for his Brawn alliance went wrong. Jason lost his partner in the game, Scot Pollard, as well as his idol in one moment.
Jason knew he had to scramble, so he announced to the tribe that if anyone wanted to do something "crazy" he'd be up for it. Cydney Gillon -- his former close ally on the Brawn tribe who previously betrayed him -- surprisingly replied, "I'll definitely keep that in mind."
Julia talked to Michele about how she was frustrated they weren't in on the plan to vote out Scot. Cydney and Aubry's alliance had told the girls to vote for Tai, which they did. Julia complained to the alliance that she had voted out Nick Maiorano and Debbie Wanner with them, so they had no reason not to trust her and want to work with her.
Meanwhile, Aubry, Cydney, Tai and Joseph "Joe" Del Campo celebrated about the high likelihood they'd make it to the Final 4 together. Tai told the group there should be no more blindsides going forward, as they should remain a strong unit and now switch things up anymore since they securely had the numbers. Tai noted Jason should be their first target.
On Day 28, Tai was feeling bad about lying to and betraying Jason, because he basically screwed up his game. Tai told Jason it was the hardest thing he's ever done in his life, explaining that he feared Jason and Scot would eventually cut him loose with no problem because the two Brawns were incredibly close. Tai admitted he thought Jason was going to kill his chicken Mark in revenge.
Jason stayed completely calm and told Tai that he understood his gameplay, and that sometimes a person can do everything right in a game but still lose. However, Jason told the cameras that Tai's apology was "half-ass" and he was so angry. Jason just wasn't going to let the tribe see how infuriated he was with Tai. Jason absolutely wanted revenge.
"For a guy with a big old heart, he sure flip flops a lot and screws a lot of people over. You screwed me over and you're getting the same fate because of it, and he deserves it," Jason said of Tai in a confessional.
The Dara tribe then met Survivor host Jeff Probst for a Reward Challenge.

The challenge required pairs to race through a series of obstacles, collecting rings along the way. Once they grabbed all three rings, they attempted to land them on a swinging hook. The first pair to land all three rings would win a helicopter ride over the island followed by a picnic complete with fried chicken, corn, apple pie, soft drinks and wine.
A random draw of rocks determined the pairs, who were tethered together. Joe and Tai worked together, Julia and Aubry were paired off, Michele and Cydney became a team, and Jason was left out unable to participate since he drew the wrong rock.
In the end, Cydney and Michele won the challenge. The two girls were then given the opportunity to select one fellow castaway to join them. Because she hadn't eaten in a while, Cydney and Michele opted to take Aubry with them on the Reward.
Michele knew she was on the outside of the girls' alliance, so she viewed this Reward as a chance to get back on their side. Michele intended to use her social skills to gain trust and prove how loyal she would be to them going forward.
Meanwhile, Jason lamented how bleak things looked for him, but he wasn't going to give up. Jason figured he could manipulate some of the people in his tribe and find a crack to work his way into.
On the Reward, Michele explained to Cydney and Aubry that she was a tight two with Julia but would be willing to forego that alliance in order to be loyal to them. Aubry told the cameras Michele had proven herself multiple times at Tribal Council, so Aubry and Cydney ultimately determined they wanted to work with her.
Cydney then spoke with Aubry alone about how there was no way they could go to the end with Tai, but Aubry insisted Jason and Julia needed to go first. Cydney acknowledged to the cameras Tai could get them further in the game, but his advantages also gave the girls good reasons to get rid of him immediately. Cydney had to think about when would be the right time to blindside Tai.
Back at camp, Jason confided in Julia that if they voted out Tai, they'd have some room to play with and it would be "stupid" for Cydney's alliance to keep him around longer anyway since he's such a big threat.

Jason was also hoping Cydney was looking for another good play since she loved blindsides. Jason just needed to win Cydney over, which was possible because they had previously developed a very strong bond and friendship.
Once Cydney, Michele and Aubry returned to camp, Jason and Julia shared their plan with Cydney -- who said it definitely made sense -- and Michele, who had promised Julia they would stick together. Cydney knew her alliance would still have the numbers if Tai went home.
Julia then made a snarky comment to Jason that once Tai went home, they were eating his chicken Mark.
On Day 29, the Dara tribe met Jeff again for the season's next Individual Immunity Challenge.
Each castaway was instructed to race out to a platform, memorize symbols and corresponding numbers on a big wheel, race back to the shore, and then use those numbers to solve a combination lock that would release a key. If a player got the combination right, the key would open a box containing puzzle pieces.
The first castaway to solve the word puzzle would immunity and be guaranteed a one-in-six shot at winning the game. The next person to get voted out at Tribal Council would become the fifth member of the jury.
Julia and Michele were neck and neck, memorizing the correct combination in one attempt. In the end, Michele realized the word was "blindsided" and won immunity.
Back at camp, Michele's alliance discussed their next target. Cydney mentioned how Jason was a big threat in water challenges, but Tai and Aubry noted that Julia was great at puzzles and also had a good memory. Aubry explained to the cameras that Jason was a "polarizing character" in that the jury would either love or hate him, so she thought it might be smart to keep him around since he probably couldn't win the game.
Meanwhile, Aubry noted that Julia was "a well-rounded player" both physically and strategically. Aubry said Julia knew how to dodge and maneuver while not getting blood on her hands. Her alliance therefore decided on ousting Julia first.
Michele said it sucked because she wanted Jason out instead. Michele didn't want to write Julia's name down since she was her closest ally in the game. Cydney even told Michele to say Tai's name when Julia asked her whom they should vote for.
Tai didn't like his name being thrown out there. He didn't trust or feel comfortable with Michele and Cydney. All Tai knew was that he wasn't going to go home with an idol in his pocket.
Michele seemed willing to work with Julia and Jason as long as Cydney was onboard with the plan as well. Michele and Cydney were the swing votes between to alliances, and the choice came down to jumping ship and voting out Tai, or blindsiding Julia.

But Jason wasn't going to let Tai get away with this. Jason explained Tai couldn't be trusted because he had already flipped twice and would likely do it again. Jason also said Tai left his alliance with Scot to join an alliance where there was an even stronger power couple in Aubry and Joe.
Jason then argued that in order to win Survivor, big moves must be made, and someone in the "clique" of five had to change things up in order to build a good resume when addressing the jury. Jason reminded the goal in this game should be to outplay, outwit and outlast. Michele noted before the vote she was going to go with her gut.
Although Tai confessed he didn't feel comfortable at all before the vote, he decided not to play his hidden Immunity Idol when Aubry advised him to hold onto it.
Jeff then revealed the votes in the following order: Tai, Julia, Tai, Julia, Julia, and Julia.
Michele hugged Julia goodbye and started bawling. It was clear Michele really struggled with this decision.
The episode's closing credits later showed that Jason and Julia voted for Tai, and then Aubry, Joe, Cydney, Tai, and Michele voted for Julia.
