Survivor: Philippines' Matsing tribe eliminated "Roxy" Roxanne Morris, a 28-year-old seminary student from Brooklyn, NY, from their tribe during Wednesday night's second episode of the CBS reality series' 25th edition.

Roxy was voted out of her tribe at the season's second Tribal Council, which was also the second elimination vote for Matsing.

"It's been six days but it's been six long days. I think that the relationship between [Angie Layton] and [Malcolm Freberg] will impact the game of [Denise Stapley] and [Russell Swan].  At this point, there's no place to hide, and every single one of them better be superstar Olympians. I have some good ties to that group, but if they believe they had made the best decision, then God be with them," Roxy said following her ouster.

Survivor: Philippines' second episode began following the Tribal Council session in which Zane Knight got voted off his Matsing tribe -- which then consisted of Roxy; former Survivor: Samoa castaway Russell; Malcolm, a 25-year-old bartender from Hermosa Beach, CA; Angie, a 20-year-old student from Provo, UT; and Denise, a 41-year-old sex therapist from Cedar Rapids, IA -- on Night 3.

Russell was relieved he didn't get eliminated from Survivor because he was well aware his head had been on the chopping block after stepping up as a leader and dictating to his tribe too much. His plan going forward was to let his tribemates determine who would be their new leader and then witness that person either rise or fall from the responsibility.

That night, Angie and Malcolm cuddled in the shelter. Angie said nothing was going on between them and that the situation was just an attempt to stay warm in the rainy weather. Malcolm told cameras he was on the same page as Angie, but at the same time, he admitted she was an attractive girl and hoped he wouldn't get caught up in any emotion since he was there to solely win the money.  

"It's the same trap that's set every time, and Angie, is literally a 'boobie trap,' and Malcolm is falling for it. I was not born yesterday, okay? As a tribe, we need to be aware that that is going on, because those two are dangerous together. One has got to go, period," Roxy explained.

On Day 4, "RC" Roberta Saint-Amour, a 27-year-old investment banker from New York, NY, found the hidden Immunity Idol at the camp of her Tandang tribe -- which also featured former Survivor: Australia castaway Michael Skupin; Abi-Maria Gomes, a 32-year-old business student from Los Angeles, CA; Artis Silvester, a 53-year-old computer engineer from Terry Town, LA; Lisa Whelchel, a 49-year-old former actress from Dallas, TX; and "Pete" Peter Yurkowski, a 24-year-old engineering graduate from Holmdel, NJ.

RC shared the news of finding an idol with Abi but only after Abi had caught her snooping around and appearing to hide something. RC figured showing Abi the idol would solidify their alliance and show Abi she could be trusted, but Abi wondered whether RC would've shared the information with her had she not caught her in the act and left her without a choice.

At that moment, Abi was beginning to question her pact with RC and grow wary of her apparent friendly relationship with Michael. Abi noted if RC was to screw her over, she'd be "dead" to her. Abi then confronted RC about what was going on between her and Michael because she was worried RC was going to ultimately betray her.

In response, RC suggested she just liked Michael as a father figure and felt close to him, but Abi immediately jumped down her throat and reminded her that feelings don't matter in Survivor because it's a game.

Meanwhile, Jeff Kent, a 44-year-old retired baseball player from Austin, TX, was trying to fight through the pain his knee was causing him after he had injured himself the very first day.

However, he didn't want his Kalabaw tribe -- which also consisted of former Survivor: Cook Islands and Survivor: Micronesia castaway Jonathan Penner; Sarah Dawson, a 28-year-old insurance saleswoman from Silver Spring, MD; Katie Hanson, a 22-year-old former Miss Delaware from Newark, NJ; Dana Lambert, a 32-year-old cosmetologist from Winston-Salem, NC; and Carter Williams, a 24-year-old track coach from Shawnee, KS -- to know it was bothering him.

Jonathan continued to look for his tribe's hidden Immunity Idol, as he had been doing for the previous few days, while his tribemates found shelter from the rain inside a cave. After failing to find it, Jonathan reflected some more on where it could be based upon the clue he had discovered. He then managed to find it "right under his nose" ontop the rice bowl, as it had been part of the lid. Jonathan was thrilled to feel powerful so early on in the game.

"You have the hidden Immunity Idol and you feel that you can dance forever -- nothing can touch you now. Of course that's not true, and I know a lot of guys that were like, 'I'm going to dance all the way to the million!' And they got blindsided. Those are mistakes, well listen, [I spit on]. That's a mistake I'm not going to make, I hope," Jonathan said.

In the meantime, over at the Matsing camp, Roxy still wanted Angie or Malcolm out of the game. Because she believed Malcolm was more useful, she determined Angie should be the next castaway to go. Roxy then approached Russell and Denise about getting Angie out. Russell seemed down with the plan, but Denise had previously formed a solid alliance with Malcolm and figured he just wanted someone to cuddle up next to someone who also happened to be nice to look at.

"Where people sleep in the shelter is pretty telling, and Angie, a hot, young chick -- it looks like she's got some boob thing going on, they're popping up all over the place. And I don't blame Malcolm for wanting a little slap and tickle, but I can't get down with that. You get [it on] somewhere else, because Survivor couples, you want to wack that thing down real quick," Russell explained.

"This morning, there was a very strange vibe going around camp. I'm not sure what's going on, but now I'm nervous the rest of the tribe is freaking out about me and Angie coupling up. They could see that as a threat potentially, and if that's the case, we could be in trouble," Malcolm said.

Over at Tandang's camp, on Day 5, a strong alliance of five had developed and Lisa was on the outs. Lisa was constantly going off on her own, which made her tribemates suspicious that she was searching for the hidden Immunity Idol or didn't care about tribe unity. But in actuality, Lisa admitted she just wasn't clicking with her tribe and mingling wasn't one of her strong points. So when she went off by herself, she actually just sat alone, pondered and cried. 

"I don't feel like I'm fitting in. I'm already on the outside and don't really have somebody that I can trust or talk to. I've been on my own since I was 12 when I moved to California to be on the Mickey Mouse Club and I left my family," Lisa explained in tears.

"I'm very used to just taking care of myself, so I think in real life, I'm trying to learn to open up and trust more and depend on other people, but this is not the place to experiment with that. It's hard being on the outside and maybe I'm just not able to play this game."

The following day, it continued to pour down on the castaways. While Roxy had been campaigning to get rid of Angie, Malcolm thought Roxy was going to be their next target if his tribe was to lose the upcoming Immunity Challenge. Malcolm said everyone was noticing that Roxy did little work around camp and wasn't helping out, and all the while, Roxy was starting to break down emotionally.

"Being in seminary school and being someone of Christian faith, I thought it would give me great strength within this game. But with it being so rainy and so freezing cold, I'm just beginning to realize I'm not in my comfort zone at all," Roxy said in tears.

"I haven't had a good night sleep since I got here and to be in a place where you literally have nothing -- none of your friends, none of your family, you don't have your church -- right now, I'm encountering Christ all over again and it's not easy."

However, the sun ended up coming out within a matter of time and Roxy's attitude completely changed. She became thankful and relaxed and prayed out loud on her own. Denise and Russell discussed on the beach how it was worrisome that Roxy didn't have a very strong character or willpower.

On Day 6, the three tribes met with Survivor host Jeff Probst, who then explained the rules to what would be their second Immunity Challenge.

The tribe members learned that each tribe would be have two members pull a sled out to retrieve one of three bundles of puzzle pieces on separate tables -- each table being a longer distance than the last from the castaways' starting point. Once the first two castaways made it back to the start, the next pair would go, and one pair would end up repeating a sled trip. Once a tribe collected all of its puzzle pieces, one person would serve as a caller and he or she would be required to help two other members of his or her tribe solve a giant puzzle.

The first two tribes to get it right would win immunity, while the losing tribe would be sent to Tribal Council that night to vote one of its own members out of the game.

In addition, the tribe to finish in first place would receive a reward in the form of blankets, pillows and a tarp. The second-place tribe would receive just a tarp, while the tribe to come in last place would receive nothing.

Dawson and Abi sat out for their Kalabaw and Tandang tribes respectively to even up the numbers. In the end, Tandang won the challenge and Kalabaw finished in second place. For coming in third -- and last -- place, Matsing would be forced to go to Tribal Council for the second straight time.

Russell was pissed off because he said his tribemates needed to have the mindset that they couldn't be beat. He said they needed confidence and had to get their "heads out of their butts," because they just weren't giving the challenges their all. He didn't think they were fighting for victory.

"So we go to the challenge today, and once again, we lost. Twenty-year-old Angie, beauty queen, she's like, 'I don't think I can do this.' And then here's Roxy saying, 'Not me. I have not had enough water to drink today.' And I just lost it," Russell told the cameras.

"Roxanne has been extremely successful at making herself a target for getting her head chopped off, but I need Roxy. Every time something happens at camp, if she's around, I know about it. She was the one who told me about Malcolm and Angie. Those two have linked up and I'm the one with the largest target on my back, so if Roxanne goes, I'm like screwed."

Back at camp, Roxy thought Angie was "playing a cheap game" and wasn't bringing anything to the team. She said it "was like Miss America all day long." Roxy told Russell that Angie had no skills at all and her game was annoying. 

Denise soon came to realize Russell and Roxy were aligned, while Malcolm and Angie were aligned. She was clearly the swing vote and had to determine which side was the right choice for her to join forces with.

Malcolm was convinced everyone was going to vote for Roxy because they apparently agreed she was useless around camp, but he also realized people were probably gunning for Angie due to his own relationship with her. Malcolm seemed as if he was beginning to regret cuddling with Angie since it put them both in a difficult spot. 

"I thought it was a done deal that Angie's going home. The girl is doing nothing around camp and she's just not helpful with anything. But the girl still has a little fight in her. She chatted up Russell for a good long while. I know I shouldn't be cuddling with Angie, but it's cold at night and I scooch over and an arm comes and maybe a leg, and then I'm like, 'Alright.' If a cute blonde girl is going to throw her arm and leg over me, I'm not going to push her away. But now I'm nervous it might come back to bite me," Malcolm explained.

"I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something about Roxy that I just don't trust. But at the same time, even though I'm in an alliance with Malcolm, if two people are snuggling and I'm the odd one out, then I'm on the bottom and I don't want to be on the bottom," Denise said.

"The truth is, there's pros and cons of keeping both, but I have to do what's best for me. And so again, I feel pretty sure about what my vote's going to be, but it's a long way to Tribal Council and I'll have to figure it out."

That night, Survivor: Philippines' five members of the Matsing tribe arrived for their second Tribal Council session -- the second session of the season overall.

Roxy told Jeff Probst if she could change one thing about the tribe, it would be that they didn't invest 75% percent of their energy into being workhorses around camp. Denise disagreed, saying that taking care of things around camp, like making fire, was vital to their success in challenges -- although they hadn't pulled a win yet.

Angie was then asked the same question, and she told the host she'd change the fact they don't have cookies. Jeff Probst and the tribe were shocked by her strange answer, and then Roxy called out Malcolm and Angie for sparking a romance at camp.

However, Malcolm was quick to shoot down the accusation, insisting he and Angie had just been snuggling for warmth. Malcolm also told everyone that Angie was like a "little sister" to him. But Roxy wasn't falling for it, because she knew Angie was an attractive girl and was a walking "boobie trap" -- literally.

Jeff told Angie to wake up because there was suspicion amongst the tribe that she and Malcolm were becoming a couple in the game, and Roxy noted aloud that a pair was dangerous no matter. Angie said people were entitled to their own opinion, but she clashed with Roxy and the girls bickered back and forth for a bit. Before voting commenced, Roxy wished her tribe luck if they were to vote out herself instead of Angie.

Jeff then revealed the votes. Three people had voted to oust Roxy from Survivor: Philippines, while Roxy had voted to eliminate Angie. The closing credits later showed that Russell voted with the majority of his tribe to vote off Roxy as well, making the vote unanimous.
