Survivor featured the "Lulu Tribe" losing again and voting out Brandon Donlon instead of Emily Flippen at Tribal Council during the Season 45 episode that aired Wednesday night on CBS.

Survivor castaway Brandon, a 26-year-old content producer from Sicklerville, NJ, was voted out of his Lulu Tribe through a unanimous 4-1 vote on Night 5 at Tribal Council instead of Emily, a 28-year-old investment analyst from McKinney, TX, who currently resides in Laurel, MD.

"I might've lost Survivor, but I didn't. I didn't give up," Brandon said in his final words.

"I made it all the way here, and I would've liked to have stayed longer and I would've liked to have won something. Something would've been ideal, but otherwise, I got to authentically live my childhood dream, and I don't know a lot of other people that can say that."

The Survivor eliminee concluded, "You have to come do this! Hopefully you end up doing better than I did, by a little bit, but otherwise, you will have the most incredible time of your life."

The Survivor broadcast began on Night 3 at Lulu's camp.

Everyone was upset Hannah Rose had essentially quit the Survivor game.

The "Lulu Tribe," wearing yellow, was made up of Brandon; Emily; Kaleb Gebrewold, a 29-year-old in software sales from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, who currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia; Sabiyah Broderick, a 28-year-old truck driver from Locust Grove, GA, who currently resides in Jacksonville, NC; and Sean Edwards, a 35-year-old school principal from Lawrence, NJ, who currently resides in Provo-Orem, UT.

Kaleb was upset Emily had thrown him under the bus at Survivor's first Tribal Council, and Emily admitted she had blown up her game by calling out a strong alliance in her tribe.

Sabiyah also felt the tribe was "stuck" with Emily -- who was "bad news" and lacked tact in the delivery of her opinions -- and that she wasn't aware how she was coming across.

On Day 4 at Reba's camp, the tribe was happy to be a winning tribe.

Survivor's "Reba Tribe," wearing red, featured Austin Li Coon, a 26-year-old graduate student from San Jose, CA, who currently resides in Chicago, IL; Dee Valladares, a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Havana, Cuba, who currently resides in Miami, FL; Drew Basile, a 23-year-old graduate student from Birmingham, MI, who currently resides in Philadelphia, PA; Janani "J. Maya" Krishnan-Jha, a 24-year-old singer from San Francisco, CA, who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA; Julie Alley, a 49-year-old estate attorney from Brentwood, TN; and Nicholas "Sifu" Alsup, a 30-year-old gym owner from O'Fallon, IL.

J. Maya thought there was a code to decipher on her tribe's flag, and she influenced Austin to try to crack the message as well. Little did she know, however, Austin had found the "Beware Advantage," which would allow him to decode the message on the flag.

Once Austin was by himself at camp, he began studying the code, and he discovered the clue, "Dig at Fallen Palm Tree X." Finding this idol proved to be so much more difficult than Austin thought.

At Belo on Day 4, the Survivor tribe successfully made fire, thanks to Bruce Perreault, a 47-year-old insurance agent from West Warwick, RI.

In addition to Bruce, the "Belo Tribe, wearing blue," was comprised of Brandon "Brando" Meyer, a 23-year-old software developer from Oak Park, CA, who currently resides in Seattle, WA; Jake O'Kane, a 26-year-old attorney from Hanson, MA, who currently resides in Boston, MA; Katurah Topps, a 35-year-old civil rights attorney from St. Louis, MO, who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY; Kellie Nalbandian, a 30-year-old critical care nurse from Weston, CT, who currently resides in New York, NY; and Kendra McQuarrie, a 31-year-old bartender from Haverhill, MA, who currently resides in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Jake thought "Uncle Bruce" was hilarious and that they were vibing well, but Bruce was trying to play it cool as he wished his tribemates would help out more around camp. Some of the women, however, were annoyed by Bruce's tendency to make demands and commands.

Katurah said that Bruce was clearly a threat, who was downplaying his abilities, and that no one else saw it.

Meanwhile, Emily began searching for an idol at her Lulu camp. In order to prevent Emily from finding it, her tribemates also went looking for it, and it became a mad scramble on Survivor.

Suddenly, Brandon found a package in the branches of a tree, but it was a "Beware Advantage." Brandon was afraid to lose his vote if he couldn't complete the task, and so he gave the advantage to Sabiyah, which bonded them together.

Sabiyah learned she must complete a series of tasks and would not be able to vote until they're all accomplished. The message told Sabiyah to take the note and lay it over the map of her tribe camp, which would reveal the location of her next clue.

The hole led Sabiyah to a specific Survivor tree, but she ended up in "a scavenger hunt from hell." Her next step was to tell Kabel and Sean to cement their alliance going forward, and then the men helped her look for the idol.

Over at the Reba tribe, Julie roped Drew into working with her, and she had already solidified a bond with Dee. Julie and Drew agreed they should also team up with Austin going forward, and trust was quickly established.

As the hours passed on Day 4, Emily attempted to patch up her relationship with Kaleb, who told the cameras how Emily had "a big mouth" and couldn't get out of her own way. Kaleb thought maybe he could "nurse" Emily into a stronger and better player, and so he advised her to open up about herself.

"I think I brought a bazooka to a tea party, and I need to put the bazooka down," Emily admitted.

Emily, acknowledging how she has an analytical mind, proceeded to apologize to Sabiyah for being too forceful and aggressive early in the game, and the Survivor player went on to compliment Brandon's hair and try to get back on her tribemates' good graces.

Emily cried about how she needed to change her attitude but it probably couldn't be done overnight.

Suddenly, a Survivor boat pulled up to each beach, and each tribe was informed that one person must hop into the boat and return to camp later in the afternoon.

Brandon volunteered for Lulu, and then Bruce and Katurah played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to find out which person would go. Bruce won the little game, and Katurah said she was "pissed" about it because she didn't want Bruce to gain more power in the game.

"My tribe is eating out of Bruce's hand, everything he does. And he does a lot of stupid and annoying stuff. I guess I see through it... Who is this guy?!" Katurah vented.

Drew also got to take the special Survivor trip on behalf of the Reba Tribe.

The three men were instructed to get to know each other, but Bruce played his cards closely to his chest. Brandon, on the other hand, divulged all the information he knew about his tribe.

The three men then took separate paths, and they discovered they must risk their vote in order to possibly receive an advantage. In a bag, there were several pairs of tiles with matching patterns on the front and numbers on the back. Three tiles had no matching patterns.

The guys were asked to match all the pairs and then use the numbers on the back of the three remaining tiles to solve a combination lock. However, they only had three minutes to get the job done.

If they were successful, a Survivor advantage would be released. If they failed, they could not vote at the next Tribal Council.

Bruce told the cameras how he hated puzzles, and Drew wondered if he should skip the puzzle because he had a strong group of four to vote with at the next Tribal Council. But Brandon said he was "absolutely" going to play.

Bruce chose to protect his vote and not play, but the other two guys were excited to give the puzzle their best shot and try to win a Survivor advantage.

In the end, Brandon lost his vote, but Drew won the advantage.

Drew's advantage would allow him to leave Tribal Council just before the votes are cast and return to camp. He would not cast a vote, but more importantly, he'd be safe from the vote. The last time he could play the advantage would be with only 10 players left in the game.

When the men returned to their respective Survivor tribes, Brandon explained how he had played a game but lost.

And Drew was open and honest about his advantage, saying that he planned to play it come the merge. And then Austin revealed to Drew how he had found the "Beware Advantage."

Drew determined that Austin was going to be his "ride or die" and that he'd be committed to him going forward.

At Belo's camp, Brando and Bruce teamed up, and the guys believed that the women were forming an all-female alliance. Brando, however, still had good relationships with some of the women.

But Kellie betrayed the ladies by choosing to work with Bruce, Brando and Jake to make for the majority. Kellie wanted her group to be strong in Survivor challenges, but she also wanted to be besties with the girls. Kellie was therefore playing as a double agent.

On Day 5, the three tribes met Survivor host Jeff Probst for the season's second Immunity Challenge.

For the challenge, one player at a time was instructed to climb to the top of a tall tower, leap off and smash a tile, releasing a key. After navigating a floating balance beam, the person would swim to the end -- and then the next person would go.

Once three Survivor keys were retrieved, two other players would use those keys to unlock puzzle pieces. The first two tribes to solve their large coral puzzle would win immunity and be safe from the vote.

The tribes were also playing for Reward in the form of a fishing gear. The second-place tribe would receive a smaller prize than the winning tribe.

Jeff then announced a new Survivor rule for Season 45: a player could not sit out of back-to-back challenges.

Belo decided to sit out Katurah, and then Sifu volunteered to sit out for Reba.

Belo began the Survivor puzzle in third place, but they quickly made a lot of progress as Brando and Kellie worked on it together.

It was a very close race between Reba and Belo that came down to only two puzzle pieces, but in the end, Reba pulled out the win.

Belo finished in second place, and Lulu finished dead last, very far behind the other two Survivor 45 tribes.

"We're like the Cavaliers when [Lebron James] left the first time," Kaleb lamented in a confessional of his tribe. "We suck. We can't win anything. This tribe is falling apart emotionally, physically -- everything."

Brandon broke down crying after the challenge, and he and Emily agreed that the vote was going to come down to one of them.

Sean told the cameras that while Brandon was on the bottom, Emily was "a liability" in every single Survivor challenge. He questioned, "How are we going to win?!"

Sabiyah then revealed to Sean how she didn't have a vote that night. Sabiyah, Sean and Kaleb therefore went off to find Sabiyah's idol.

Sabiyah spotted a rope high in a tree, and so once they broke the rope with a machete, the next idol clue came tumbling down attached to a coconut. Sabiyah's note revealed that her Survivor idol was encased in wax and so she must burn away the wax to take possession.

Sabiyah's tribe, however, didn't have fire yet because they had yet to win flint. Sabiyah's heart dropped because she didn't have a vote or an idol!

This was going to be a three-vote Tribal Council since Brandon also didn't have a vote.

Brandon promised loyalty to Kaleb and Sabiyah and insisted that he'd be "Lulu strong" with them, but Emily gave Sabiyah and Sean her "Shot in the Dark" to show that she trusted them and wanted to work with them.

"I'm trying to buy myself enough time to permanently change my position instead of treading water like I am right now," Emily told the cameras. "I'm just praying the tribe truly wants to vote out Brandon."

Kaleb thought Emily was starting to play a good game, and he hoped the others would realize they could use her as a number in the future. Sabiyah, however, still feared Emily would cut her throat in the middle of the night.

Sabiyah didn't trust Emily, but she was pretty torn about the vote, and so was Kaleb and Sean.

On Night 5 at Lulu's second Tribal Council, Sabiyah revealed that the tribe was going to vote out Hannah anyway at the previous Tribal Council.

All five Survivor castaways then openly agreed that either Brandon or Emily was going home that night.

Brandon had told his tribe that he's good at puzzles, but then he failed at the coral puzzle.

Kaleb said he appreciated Brandon's vulnerability but it may be a good move to give Emily a chance. Sean also said that Emily was showing her sweet side and it was nice to see.

"I know there will be a challenge that I will be able to compete in physically; I've gotten unlucky!" Brandon insisted.

But the Survivor tribe apparently viewed Brandon as their team's waterboy.

Emily, meanwhile, told Jeff that watching her behavior back on Survivor may be a little "traumatic" for her. She said she was putting in her best effort to be more of a kind, team player.

Brandon got a little teary-eyed, saying that five days on Survivor was the best time of his life and he wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world.

It then became time to vote, and once collected, Jeff read them aloud in the following order: Brandon, Brandon and Brandon.

Brandon hugged his Survivor tribemates before getting his torch snuffed, which he declared was a "really cool" moment.
