Sol, a 43-year-old in medical device sales from Del City, OK, who currently resides in Norwalk, CT, was voted out of the merged Beka Tribe through an 8-1 vote on Night 16 of the game at Tribal Council instead of Sue Smey, a 59-year-old flight school owner from Kirkwood, NY, who currently resides in Putnam Valley, NY.

"They got my ass. I'm gone," Sol said in his final words.

"I thought I had my troops rallied, but they were also in on it. But this was a dream come true. I am completely humbled by this experience, and now I get to be on the jury. So, it's not a loss for me, man, I'm good. This was awesome, man!"

The Survivor broadcast began at the Beka Tribe's camp on Night 15 following Sierra Wright's ouster.

Rachel LaMont, a 34-year-old graphic designer from Dexter, MI, who currently resides in Southfield, MI, and Sam Phalen, a 24-year-old sports reporter from Schaumburg, IL, who currently resides in Nashville, TN were blindsided by Andy Rueda's betrayal.

Since Sierra got sent home and Andy, a 31-year-old AI research assistant from Buffalo, NY, who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, was no longer with them, Sam acknowledged how Gata was "no more" and it was "every man for himself."

Andy, however, felt he had gotten a second chance in this Survivor game. He was proud of himself for making his own decisions, but he still attempted to do a little damage control with his former allies.

On Day 16, Andy told Rachel that he wanted to work with her, but Rachel wasn't sure if she could trust him considering he had just flipped on their former Gata Tribe.

Rachel was open to starting over and trying again with Andy, but she recognized he was unpredictable.

Teeny Chirichillo, a 24-year-old freelance writer from Manahawkin, NJ, and Sol explained how they wanted to split Sam and Sierra up because they were a power couple in the Survivor game.

Since Sam didn't seem upset or angry about the blindside, Sol wondered if he could work with Sam going forward.

Sol told Sam how Gabe Ortis, a 26-year-old radio show host from Baltimore, MD, was "too strong" and so they should target him.

The Survivor tribe then received Tree Mail, asking them to divide themselves into five pairs before the challenge. But only one person in each pair was going to be safe.

"What's tricky is... you're trying to think about, 'Okay, who will get me to that last stage of the challenge where I can actually compete for Individual Immunity?'" explained Caroline Vidmar, a 27-year-old strategy consultant from Palos Verdes, CA, who currently resides in Chicago, IL.

"But I also want to be careful not to pick someone who's so competitive and so strong that they're going to be a shoo-in to win immunity," she added.

The pairs for the Individual Immunity Challenge were Sam and Andy; Caroline and Rachel; Teeny and Sol; Gabe and Kyle Ostwald, a 31-year-old construction worker from Cheboygan, MI; and Sue and Genevieve Mushaluk, a 33-year-old corporate lawyer from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Survivor host Jeff Probst explained that the challenge was going to run in three stages.

For the first stage, they had to crawl through a narrow tunnel filled with sand and retrieve one puzzle step. The pairs would then race to dig up a second step.

The first three pairs to return with their steps would move on to the second stage, while the last two pairs would be out of the challenge.

For the next stage, the pairs were tasked with using those steps to build a staircase. Once at the top, they'd have to cross a three-level balance beam. The first two pairs to finish would move onto the final stage.

The last stage would feature the remaining castaways competing as four individuals. They'd have to use their hands and arms to brace against two walls while their feet balanced on very narrow footholes.

Once a Survivor player dropped, he or she would be out. The last person standing would guaranteed him or herself a spot in the Final 9. The castaway voted out at the next Tribal Council session would become the second member of the jury.

The Final 4, the last two pairs standing, would also win Reward in the form of a picnic back at camp complete with BLT sandwiches, soft drinks and more.

In addition, the first two pairs out of the challenge would lose their vote at the next Tribal Council. However, they'd go on a journey and have a chance to win their vote back.

The first two pairs eliminated from the challenge were Sam and Andy as well as Rachel and Caroline.

The Final 4 in the Survivor challenge were Teeny, Kyle, Gabe and Sol.

Teeny and Sol dropped around the same time, and so it ended up being an original pair -- Kyle vs. Gabe -- showdown.

Kyle ruined his perfect Immunity run when Gabe outlasted him and won the challenge.

Caroline, Sam, Andy and Rachel lost their vote, but they went on a journey while the Final 4 enjoyed their special Survivor picnic.

Sol said he wouldn't mind writing Sam's name down, as long as it wasn't him. And Kyle was suddenly worried about his fate in the game because he was vulnerable for once.

Genevieve told Sue that Sol wanted Gabe out, but Sue had been hoping to blindside Kyle. Both Genevieve and Sue really liked Gabe, and so they considered targeting Sol.

"It would have to be a total blindside because [Sol] is so clever," Genevieve told Sue.

On the journey, the four castaways had to compete against each other to win their vote back. The loser of the Survivor game would be the one player to lose their vote at Tribal Council that night.

For the JENGA-inspired challenge, the four players, one at a time, had to stack metal cards on top of a fixed triangular base. The players had to place more cards, creating more triangles, until the cards fell. The first player out would lose his or her vote that night, so the stakes were high.

Meanwhile, Genevieve was shown telling Gabe about how Sol was gunning for him and so they needed to take Sol out.

"If Sol is coming after me, he's going to regret that," Gabe told the Survivor cameras. "I think we could do this, but there are people I need to be onboard."

Kyle told Gabe and Genevieve that he was onboard, but they needed someone else and it was going to depend on the people on the journey.

On the journey, Caroline lost her vote, but she was cool about it and called it a good game. Caroline knew Kyle would be so hard to beat in the end because he was such a challenge threat, and so she hoped to rally numbers against Kyle.

Once the entire tribe reunited at camp, Genevieve still wanted to vote for Sol, even though it would probably mean losing Teeny as an ally. Genevieve told Andy about her plan, but Andy wanted to use him for a couple more votes and then get rid of him.

Since Andy was on the fence, Genevieve let Rachel in on the plan, and she let Rachel make the decision for them.

Rachel wanted to prove she could be trusted, and so she warned Sam that a lot of people were voting for Sol.

Sam went on to warn Sol that it looked like he was going home that night, which shocked Sol and made him panic. Sol, however, boasted about how he worked the best from the bottom in the Survivor game.

Sam then pitched the idea to Sol of voting out Sue with Genevieve, Teeny, and Genevieve. Sam thought Sue was "the most insolated" player in the game. Sam didn't like how Sue was close with the other women, and he was ready to blow up everyone's game.

Sam and Sol worked on their plan, and it shocked Genevieve and Teeny. There was so much chaos before Tribal Council, and so Rachel immediately regretted saying anything to Sam.

At Tribal Council on Night 16, little conversations were breaking out all over as Jeff talked about the previous few days of Survivor.

At one point, Gabe asked Andy if they were "good," and Andy assured him that they were. Gabe then promised Sue with a whisper that she was "100 percent good."

But then Teeny quietly told Gabe about the other plan, which raised Gabe's eyebrows. Sol whispered to Andy that Sue was the vote, but everyone was whispering. Kyle told Sue that Gabe was voting for Sol, but chaos, once again ensued.

Sam asked Rachel if she'd vote for Sue with him before the Survivor vote commenced.

When it became time to vote, Genevieve called the situation "a sh-tshow."

Jeff proceeded to read the votes in the following order: Sol, Sue, Sol, Sol, Sol, and Sol.

On his way out of the game, Sol said, "They got me. They got me good," and Genevieve congratulated herself on successful execution of her plan.

The Survivor episode's closing credits later showed that Sol was the only castaway who voted for Sue.
