Police charged Maureen Monaghan, 46, of Forward Township south of Pittsburgh, with 10 counts of recklessly endangering another person for convincing students to stage a chaotic scene as she drove them to school on Jan. 6, the Valley Independent reported.

Monaghan, who wanted to videotape unruly students as part of her application for the hit reality series, was charged when authorities learned of her plot after several students told other drivers what happened.

Elizabeth Township Police Chief Bob Wallace said surveillance tape shows some students in acts of "mock violence," such as wrestling, jumping and running around and throwing things.

"In my opinion, it was very poor judgment by the bus driver," Wallace said. "She completely disregarded the safety of the students. However, we are very glad no one was injured."
