HGTV has announced Flip or Flop's seventh season will premiere in December 2017 and consist of 20 episodes, which is more than a traditional full-season order.

Flip or Flop's seventh edition will continue to feature estranged spouses Tarek and Christina -- despite their ongoing divorce -- as they find, buy, renovate and flip homes for profit in Southern California.

"Tarek and Christina's expertise and success flipping houses has made Flip or Flop an audience favorite on HGTV for many seasons," HGTV executive Allison Page said in a statement. "The series is so successful because it shows how real estate and renovation savvy can lead to financial success."

Five episodes of the new Flip or Flop season are currently in post-production, while the remaining episodes will be filmed through Fall 2017.

Although Tarek and Christina have decided to end their marriage, the pair intend to continue working together and stay committed to their joint house-flipping business.

"Tarek and I have been working together for a long time and we look forward to continuing to work together on Flip or Flop," Christina said in a statement.

"From the beginning, HGTV has shown Christina and me tremendous support and we are excited to go out there and flip many more houses for Flip or Flop," added Tarek.

As previously announced, the Flip or Flop franchise is also expanding into Las Vegas, NV; Atlanta, GA; Fort Worth, TX; Nashville, TN; and Chicago, IL, via five new spinoffs.

Similar to the way in which Bravo has expanded many of its reality formats into multiple series set in different cities, each Flip or Flop spinoff will star new and different house flippers. The first new spinoff, Flip or Flop Las Vegas debuted on HGTV earlier this month.

Tarek and Christina split in Spring 2016 and Tarek filed for divorce in early January 2017, but against all odds and rumors of tension on the show set, the reality TV stars wanted to film an eighth season of Flip or Flop, TMZ reported late last month.
