Tarik Myers was a 43-year-old realtor and single father from Virginia Beach, VA, when he became acquainted with his love interest Hazel Cagalitan from the Philippines.

After traveling to Asia and having a girlfriend from Bangkok, Tarik decided to begin searching for The One on Asian dating websites.

Tarik said he "got lucky" and "hit the jackpot" with Hazel because she's so gorgeous.

Tarik was shown traveling over 9,000 miles and 36 hours to meet Hazel in her native country, although part of him feared it was a con because she was so shy and only texted him when they were getting to know each other.

Although Hazel was slow to open up and refused to be physically intimate with Tarik for quite some time, he proposed marriage to her before heading back to the United States and the couple got engaged.

Tarik and Hazel were still together and thriving six months after 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' Season 2 finale aired on TLC in October 2018, as Tarik shared a sweet video of her face and captioned it with a series of hearts in April 2019.

Tarik had also expressed his love for her in March 2019 when he wished her a happy birthday.

In April 2019, TLC released Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: What Now?, its online digital series that is available for streaming on tlc.com and the network's TLC GO app.  The 21-episode season included two episodes focused on Tarik and Hazel.

During the 90 Day Fiance: What Now? episodes, Tarik explained he had now traveled to the Philippines three times to visit Hazel and was in the process of preparing all the paperwork required for Hazel's K-1 visa application.

In addition, Tarik's family and friends were shown urging him to get Hazel to agree to sign a prenuptial agreement before they got married.

Tarik followed their advice and told Hazel he would like her to sign a prenup before their wedding, and while she seemed to be somewhat offended, she said she would do so.

In December 2020, Tarik and Hazel returned to TLC as part of the cast of Season 8 of 90 Day Fiance, which showed Hazel arriving in America on a K-1 visa and the couple then getting married.

However a year later, Tarik announced he and Hazel had split up and were no longer living together.

"Hazel does not live with me anymore. She said she is [in] another state with people I don't know," Tarik wrote in an Instagram Stories posting on December 7, 2021.

"She is going back to the Philippines. I do know that bc she has no choice. No matter what happened, I ask that you viewers and bloggers leave her alone."

Tarik added, "Please do not attack her or harass her like you've been doing for the last 3 years. #90dayfiance."

And finally, Tarik concluded in a message to his estranged wife, "Hazel. Use your head."
