Reality producer Mike Fleiss' Next Entertainment has begun casting for The Real Gilligan's Island, TBS' upcoming reality show adaptation of the classic 1960's sitcom.

The all-new version of the classic sitcom will feature real life versions of all of the original show's characters: a real-life skipper, first mate, millionaire couple, movie star, professor and Kansas farm girl. Just like the original show, the castaways will work together to get off the island, and episodes will include situations drawn from the original series.
While the producers encourage auditioners to come dressed as their "castaway of choice," neither costumes nor dead-on physical resemblance is a requirement. Instead, the producers are looking for people whose true-life experience mirrors that of the passengers of the original S.S. Minnow, such as an authentic Kansas farm girl, a real skipper or an actual professor.
Applications are being accepted via both mail-in submissions and a series of nationwide open casting calls. Mail-in applications can be downloaded from GilliganCasting.com and must be submitted by June 30, 2004. In addition to the completed application, all mail-in submissions must include a video of yourself telling us why you'd make a great castaway.
In addition to mail-in applications, opening casting calls will be conducted at the following dates and locations:
• Saturday, June 12 Wichita 10AM - 4PM
• Sunday, June 13 Pratt, Kansas 8AM - 1PM
• Saturday, June 19 Boston 10AM - 4PM
• Thursday, June 24 Tampa 2AM - 10PM
• Saturday, July 10 Los Angeles 10AM - 4PM
The Real Gilligan's Island, set to premiere on TBS in this fall, is executive-produced by Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, High School Reunion). The creator of the original Gilligan's Island sitcom, Sherwood Schwartz, and his son, Lloyd Schwartz, will also serve as executive producers.
