Done in by an apparent inability to recognize that while being friendly and helpful were admirable qualities, they were also in a competitive race in which each leg required them to finish ahead of at least one of their competitors, Erwin and Godwin Cho were the last team to reach The Amazing Race 10's ninth Pit Stop, resulting in the brothers becoming the seventh team to be eliminated from the latest edition of the CBS reality show

Last night's broadcast of The Amazing Race 10's tenth episode picked up where the previous episode had ended, with the first place team of Tyler Denk and James Branaman completing an 232 foot, face-forward repel down the side of Helsinki Olympic Stadium and then discovering that, rather than having arrived at the Race's ninth Pit Stop, they had merely reached the midway point of a superleg. After completing the "angel dive," the teams received clues instructing them to fly to the capital city of the country that experienced the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident.

Although dating couple Rob Diaz and Kimberly Chabollao initially thought that the clue meant that they would be going to Moscow, Russia and beauty queens Dustin Konzelman and Kandice Pelletier thought Chernobyl was "where the atomic bomb went off," all of the teams eventually figured out -- with some help from a Finnish travel agent -- that the clue meant that they had to fly 1,800 miles to Kiev, the capital city of the former Soviet republic of Ukraine.

Due to the late hour, all of the teams ended up bunched back together at Helsinki's airport. The next morning, the five teams departed for Kiev on two different flights. Tyler and James and Dustin and Kandice (the first two teams to arrive at the airport) left on an 8:25AM flight to Vienna that would get them to Kiev at 1:35PM. Unable to get seats on the Vienna flight, Rob and Kimberly, Erwin and Godwin, and single moms Lyn Turk and Karlyn Harris left via a 9:25AM flight to Warsaw that, despite leaving Helsinki an hour later, was also supposed to arrive in Kiev at 1:35PM. However once they arrived in Warsaw, the three rear-running teams were informed that their Kiev departure would be delayed for half an hour, allowing Tyler and James and Dustin and Kandice to once again move back into the lead.

Upon arriving in Kiev, the teams had to drive to the Oster Tank School, a Ukrainian military training facility. While Tyler and James, Dustin and Kandice, and Rob and Kimberly all chose to hire taxis to lead them on the 58 mile drive, Erwin and Godwin chose to rely on a map and the directions of locals and Lyn and Karlyn chose to simply follow the Chos -- strategies that appeared to cost both the Chos and Lyn and Karlyn valuable time. Once the teams arrived at the school, they learned that it was time for one of the Race's most enjoyable Roadblock tasks -- one member of each team would have get to drive a Soviet-era T64 tank through a 1.2 mile obstacle course.

After completing the Roadblock, the teams received clues instructing them to drive 43 miles back to Kiev. Once there, they would have to travel to a specific street address and locate the building's #33 apartment. Although Tyler and James and Dustin and Kandice once again appeared to make the drive without many difficulties (except for Dustin and Kandice's inability -- despite their best efforts -- to lose Tyler and James) the ret of the teams weren't so lucky.

Although they had a taxi driver leading them back to the city, Rob and Kimberly's car old Soviet-era car broke down along the way, costing the couple valuable time. Meanwhile, despite knowing that there were three teams in front of them and the next Pit Stop was very unlikely to be a non-elimination Stop, Erwin and Godwin chose to wait for Lyn and Karlyn to finish the Roadblock -- a decision that not only puzzled Lyn and Karlyn themselves, but also looked even worse when Lyn and Karlyn, frustrated by the Chos frequent stops and slow driving on the trip back to Kiev, later took off and left the Chos behind. "Our alliance with Team Alabama is over," Godwin remarked as the surprised brothers tried to catch up and instead follow Lyn and Karlyn's car -- a role-reversal strategy that, for some reason, seemed to frustrate the Alabama single moms.

After finding the building's #33 apartment, it was time for the Detour options, "Make the Music" and "Find the Music." "Make the Music" required the teams to travel three miles to a hip-hop club. Once there, they had to write and perform a rap song that incorporated the names of the countries that they had visited during the Race. After "Kiev's top rap artist" approved their show, the teams would receive their next clue. "Find The Music" required the teams to travel 2.5 miles to the National Music Academy of Ukraine. Once there, they had to search a table covered with thousands of sheets of sheet music for the piano part of Tchaikovsky's "Concert Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra." After finding it, they would have to search the conservatory's 120 practice rooms for one of six pianists waiting for the music. Once the pianist had performed the piece, the teams would receive their next clue.

Tyler and James chose "Find the Music," a decision that allowed them to complete the Detour before Dustin and Kandice, who chose the "Make the Music" option. After completing their Detour tasks, the teams received clues instructing them to drive two miles to the Great Patriotic War Museum, a World War II memorial that would serve as the Race's ninth Pit Stop. Powered by their earlier completion of the Detour task, Tyler and James were the first team to reach the Pit Stop. As their reward, Tyler and James won a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta.

Despite their vehicle breakdown, Rob and Kimberly still managed to be the third team to find the Kiev apartment building. After finding the apartment, Rob and Kimberly, Lyn and Karlyn and Erwin and Godwin all chose to rap however the Chos, too prideful to continue following Lyn and Karlyn, ultimately decided to switch to "Find the Music" after getting lost while trying to find the hip-hop club on their own.

Rob and Kimberly were the third team to arrive at the Pit Stop, turning the competition for the Pit Stop's final fourth place spot into a two-way race between Lyn and Karlyn and Erwin and Godwin. Having apparently finally learned a lesson from the front-running teams, Lyn and Karlyn hired a taxi to lead them to the Pit Stop location -- a decision that proved wise when the Chos, once again trying to navigate the city streets on their own, drove themselves into a closed-off plaza and were detained by local police. After finally arriving at the Pit Stop sometime after sundown, The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan told the Chos the words that no racer ever wants to hear -- "Erwin and Godwin, you are the last team to arrive. I'm sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the Race."
