CBS has announced the identities of the 11 teams who will be competing on the 22nd edition of The Amazing Race, which will premiere Sunday, February 17 at 8PM ET/PT, and revealed a new twist to take place at the beginning of the season.

The cast will feature twins who are both OB/GYNs, a father and son who are both cancer survivors, Roller Derby moms, hockey brothers, a team of friends who are country singers and one of friends who are YouTube hosts, and best friends who are firefighters.
Hosted once again by Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race's 22nd season will introduce a new change in which the first team to check in at the first Pit Stop will earn not one but two Express Passes -- one to keep for themselves and one that must be given out to another team by the end of the fourth leg of the Race.
The Express Pass will allow both teams to skip any task they want if it proves to be too challenging or taxing, allowing them to automatically move on to the next task.
The Amazing Race's 22nd season covered more than 30,000 miles and included visits to five continents and nine counties, according to CBS. Teams were required to complete tasks such as skydiving in Bora Bora, participating in a Shemozzle race in New Zealand, hunting for scorpions, and scaling the Eiger Mountain in Switzerland.
The 11 teams competing on The Amazing Race's 22nd season -- and their CBS-released bio information -- are:
- "Twin Doctors" Idries Abdur-Rahman and Jamil Abdur-Rahman
Idries and Jamil are both 36-year-old OB/GYN physicians from Chicago, IL
- "Newlyweds" Max Bichler and Katie Bichler
Max is a 30-year-old cigar salesman, and Katie is a 24-year-old pharmacist. They are both from Buffalo, NY
- "Roller Derby Moms" Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere
Mona is a 33-year-old captioner and Roller Derby player from Castle Pines, CO. Beth is a 36-year-old Roller Derby player who's in technical support from Arvada, CO.
- "Hockey Brothers" Bates Battaglia and Anthony Battaglia
Bates is a 36-year-old former professional hockey player -- who played for the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, and Toronto Maple Leafs -- and Anthony is a 33-year-old professional hockey player, who currently plays for the Huntsville Havoc. They are both from Raleigh, NC.
- "Married Couple" Chuck McCall and Wynona McCall
Chuck is a 46-year-old retail manager and taxidermist. Wynona is a 49-year-old cosmetologist and hairstylist. They are both from Daphne, AL.
- "Father and Son" David O'Leary and Connor O'Leary
David is a 58-year-old in investment properties, and Connor is a 21-year-old professional cyclist. They are both from Salt Lake City, UT
- "Friends and Country Singers" Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle
Caroline is a 29-year-old singer and songwriter, who's a direct descendant of Daniel Boone, from Austin, TX. Jennifer is a 30-year-old songwriter, who's the granddaughter of John Wayne, from Nashville, TN. They are both band members of the group "Stealing Angels."
- "Friends and YouTube Hosts" Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena
Joey is 21-years-old and Meghan is 25-years-old. They are both Internet personalities and YouTube hosts of their own YouTube channels from Los Angeles, CA.
- "Best Friends" Pamela Chien and Winnie Sung
Pamela is an art director and fitness instructor, and Winnie is a senior project manager. They are both 29-years-old and from Los Angeles, CA.
- "Dating Couple" Jessica Hoel and John Erck
Jessica is a 26-year-old account manager, and John is a 27-year-old entrepreneur and computer programmer. They are both from Huntington Beach, CA.
- "Best Friends and Firefighters" Matthew Davis and Daniel Moss
Matthew is 25-years-old and Daniel is 24-years-old. They are both firefighters from Gaffney, SC.
