The "Married Couple" became the fifth team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's seventh Pit Stop at the Bodmi Snowboard and Ski School in Zurich, Switzerland in last place.
"Tough way to go out," Chuck said following his team's ouster.
"I've done past what I thought I could. I've never stopped," Wynona added.
"I'm proud of her. My love's still there for her. She knows it. As far as the Race goes, it didn't tear us apart. I mean, we've got a lot of life and a lot of history behind us. Just to see the sights and the world we went, it's something we wouldn't have had money to do on our own. So we're very grateful for that," Chuck explained.

The eighth episode of The Amazing Race's 22nd edition began with "Hockey Brothers" Bates Battaglia and Anthony Battaglia departing the sixth Pit Stop, the Royal Tree Lodge in Botswana, in first place at 5:55AM.
The departure times for Chuck and Wynona, "Friends and YouTube Hosts" Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena, "Friends and Country Singers" Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle, "Roller Derby Moms" Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere, and "Newlyweds" Max Bichler and Katie Bichler were not shown.
The teams' first set of clues instructed them to fly over 5,000 miles to Zurich, Switzerland. Upon touchdown, they were required to find a conductor, who would hand them their next clue.
All the teams started off the leg on a level playing field, as they all got seats on the same flight arriving in Zurich at 2PM the following day.
Caroline and Jennifer were the first team to retrieve their next clue and learned they must travel by train to the town of Grindelwald and wait at a church for an alpine shepherd to deliver their next clue. They were soon followed by Bates and Anthony, Joey and Meghan, Mona and Beth, Max and Katie, and Chuck and Wynona.

Everyone booked tickets for the 3:40PM train, but Joey and Meghan and Mona and Beth ended up missing the train. The two teams felt like it was them against all the other teams.
Once at the church, the pairs discovered the shepherd wasn't coming until 8:55AM, so Joey and Meghan and Mona and Beth would be able to catch up -- which ultimately frustrated all the teams who had a big jump on them.
Chuck and Wynona received their next set of clues before any of the other teams and learned they must travel by train to Kleine Scheidegg where they needed to pick up a Swiss rescue dog hanging outside the historic Bellevue Hotel.
Max and Katie read the clue next and they were soon followed by Bates and Anthony, Joey and Meghan, Mona and Beth, and Caroline and Jennifer.
The order of which the teams arrived at the Bellevue changed. Joey and Meghan got their first. They were then followed by Max and Katie, Mona and Beth, Bates and Anthony, Chuck and Wynona, and Caroline and Jennifer.

Once at the Bellevue, the teams' next set of clues instructed them to travel by train with their rescue dog to Europe's highest railroad station known as Jungfraujoch. Upon arrival at the station, the pairs must then deliver their dog to a mountain rescue guide and search the Sphinx for their next clue.
Mona and Beth made it to the mountain rescue guide before any of the other teams. They were soon followed by Bates and Anthony, Max and Katie, Joey and Meghan, Caroline and Jennifer, and Chuck and Wynona.
It then became time for one member of each team to complete a Roadblock task.
For the Roadblock, the participating team members were required to battle the elements and climb Eiger thousands of feet above the valley floor. After scaling a part of the mountain and getting back on solid ground, they'd receive their next clue, which was written on the bottom of a Travelocity gnome's feet.
Jennifer opted to take on the Roadblock task for her team. She was later joined by Katie, Wynona, Bates, Beth, and Meghan.

Upon completion of the task, the teams then discovered they must travel by train to the Grindelwald Grund train station. Once there, they had to cross the Lutschine Bruggll bridge and follow the sound of the Swiss Alphorn to their next clue. Chuck and Wynona and Joey and Meghan just weren't moving fast enough, so they missed the first available train that all the rest of the teams had secured seats on.
Therefore, Bates and Anthony arrived at the Grund station in first place. They were soon followed by Mona and Beth, Max and Katie, Caroline and Jennifer, Joey and Meghan, and finally Chuck and Wynona.
The teams' next clue required them to use a traditional Swiss sled to transport four wheels of cheese, weighing a total of 200 pounds, from an outdoor storage shed to a barn at the bottom of the hill. Once each 50-pound wheel of cheese was successfully moved and handed off to the cheesemeister, they'd receive their next clue.
Many of the teams struggled with the cheese task, as it proved to be physically demanding and difficult.
However, Bates and Anthony seemingly finished the task quickly and efficiently. Following the boys were Max and Katie, Mona and Beth, Caroline and Jennifer, Joey and Meghan, and Chuck and Wynona.
The teams were then instructed to make their way to the Swiss ski and snowboard school located below Eiger, which served as the Race's seventh Pit Stop.
Bates and Anthony managed to make it to the Pit Stop mat in first place and were greeted by The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan, who told the team they had won a trip for two to Bora Bora.
Mona and Beth subsequently arrived and claimed second place. Third place went to Max and Katie, and Caroline and Jennifer soon arrived at the Pit Stop in fourth.
Chuck and Wynona made it to the Pit Stop before Joey and Meghan because they had decided to take a taxi while Joey and Meghan regretfully chose to walk. However, Chuck and Wynona could not officially check into the Pit Stop because they had incurred a 30-minute time penalty for performing the cheese task incorrectly.
The clue clearly stated the couple needed to use the sled to transport their cheese wheels, however, Chuck and Wynona rolled their cheese wheels down the hill because they found it to be easier. Their penalty was a result of not using the proper methods to transport their products.
While Chuck and Wynona were waiting out their 30-minute penalty, Joey and Meghan arrived. Therefore, Joey and Meghan secured the fifth-place spot and Chuck and Wynona finished in last and were eliminated.

"This Race is so unpredictable. Once you think you're out, anything could happen. This has seriously been the best time of my life and I don't want it to end now. So I'm so glad we're still in it!" Joey said after learning his team's fate in the Race.
"Yeah, what he said!" Meghan said in tears.
