The Amazing Race eliminated "Dating Couple" Burnie Burns and Ashley Jenkins and therefore determined Season 28's Final 3 teams during Friday night's broadcast of the CBS reality competition.

Burnie and Ashley became the eighth team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's eleventh Pit Stop at Shenzhen Library Terrace in Shenzhen, China, in last place.

"It is enormously disappointing to not make it to the final, the final leg of The Amazing Race. We just had a classic bad day on the Race and you can't do that this late in the game," Burnie said following his team's ouster.

The Amazing Race broadcast began with "Best Friends" Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl departing the tenth Pit Stop in Bali, Indonesia, in first place at 7:34AM. They were then followed by Ashley and Burnie in second place at 7:35AM, "Dating Couple" Dana Borriello and Matt Steffanina in third at 7:48AM, and finally "Mother and Son" Sheri LaBrant and Cole LaBrant in fourth at 7:51AM.

The teams' first set of clues instructed them to fly more than 2,000 miles to Shenzhen, China and find their next clue in the city's futuristic airport.

All four of the teams hopped on a 1:45AM flight to Shenzhen, so it was a level playing field heading into the penultimate leg.

Tyler and Korey got to the cluebox in China in first place. On their heels were Dana and Matt, Burnie and Ashley, and then Sheri and Cole.

Afterward, the teams learned they must make their way by bus and train to the Eiffel Tower. Sheri and Cole missed the train all of the other teams were on, so they fell deeper into last place at this point.

Tyler and Korey arrived at the Eiffel Tower first and were followed by Dana and Matt, Burnie and Ashley, and Sheri and Cole.

It then became time for one member from each team to complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock, the participating Racers were required to solve a series of riddles, collecting location stickers along the way at Window of the World theme park. Once an immigration officer stamped each correct answer, the teams would receive their next clue.

Tyler, Dana, Burnie and Sheri all attempted the task. Tyler and Dana decided to work together because they thought Ashley and Burnie were a huge threat. Tyler also lied to Burnie about one of the locations, and Burnie noted it wasn't the first time he and Korey had lied to him.

Meanwhile, Sheri was overwhelmed with the task and struggled through it.

Burnie and Ashley finished the Roadblock task in first place. They were then followed by Tyler and Korey, Dana and Matt, and Sheri and Cole.

The teams were then instructed to make their way by subway to Lychee Park and search for their next clue on the moon bridge.

At this point, the teams had to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Commuter Cycle" or "Master of Art."

"Commuter Cycle" required the pairs to master maneuvers on electronic unicycles.

"Master of Art" required the teams to deliver a set of paintings to a gallery and then use the provided tools to hang them with perfect calculations and exact specifications.

Burnie and Ashley arrived at the Detour cluebox in first place. They were then followed by Tyler and Korey, Dana and Matt, and finally Sheri and Cole.

Burnie and Ashley decided they should try "Commuter Cycle," while Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt opted to take on "Master of Art."

The unicycle task turned out to be very difficult, so Burnie and Ashley took a stab at it but then chose to switch and try the art one instead. Cole struggled with balance as well, but he determined there would be no chance of surviving the leg if he switched tasks with his mother.

Burnie and Ashley couldn't find the art gallery at first, especially because many locals didn't speak English. The couple -- who have finished in second place multiple times -- then saw Tyler and Korey running away from the task after finishing it, so they knew they were fighting to stay in the Race rather than fighting for first place.

Tyler and Korey completed the Detour before any of the other teams. They were then followed by Dana and Matt, Burnie and Ashley, and Cole and Sheri.

On the way to the Pit Stop at Shenzhen Library Terrace, Burnie and Ashley and Sheri and Cole appeared to hit some bad traffic. Burnie therefore jumped out of the cab, and he and Ashley booked it running to the Pit Stop. They ended up searching for The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan at the same time Sheri and Cole were looking for him.

Tyler and Korey stepped on the Pit Stop mat in first place and the guys were thrilled to have won a spot in the final leg, racing for $1 million. Dana and Matt finished the leg in second place, and then Cole and Sheri ran to the mat in third. All of the teams cheered when they saw Sheri and Cole approach the mat because they've been the underdogs in the Race.

Burnie and Ashley finally finished the leg in fourth -- and last -- place.
