The "Firefighters" from Boston, MA, became the third team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's third Pit Stop at St. Ninian's Isle in Aberdeen, Scotland, in last place.

"We thought we were going to do a lot better here. I mean, we chased sheep around. This is stuff we wouldn't do, we're city guys," Michael said following his team's ouster.

"It was a disappointing day. I didn't want to get knocked out because of a sheep or go into a bar instead of a museum," Scott laughed. "Things don't always have to be so serious."

"We had a million laughs, we did what we do. We have fun!" Michael added.

The third episode of The Amazing Race's 25th season began with "Married Surfers" Bethany Hamilton and Adam Dirks leaving the second Pit Stop in first place at 12AM.

Adam and Bethany were then followed by "Married Dentists" Misti Raman and Jim Raman at 12:16AM, "Urban Bike Racers" Kym Perfetto and Alli Forsythe at 12:22AM, "Engaged Couple" Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan at 12:36AM, and then Michael and Scott at 1:56AM. The other departure times were not shown.

The teams' first set of clues instructed them to take a train to Aberdeen, Scotland where they'd pick up a vehicle, drive aboard a ferry and then travel through the North Sea to the Shetland Islands. Upon arrival, they must drive themselves to the Lifeboat Institute and find a puffin, a favorite local mascot who would hand them their next clue.

Bethany and Adam were happy to start the leg with the coveted Express Pass. Scott, however, started off on a bad note as he took a spill and injured his ankle. Scott's ankle bruised quickly and appeared very swollen, but he had no intention to stop racing or let it defeat him. Mike was therefore ready to step up to any physical task his partner couldn't do.

The earliest available train to Scotland did not leave until around 6AM the following morning. As a result, all nine teams got tickets for the same train and experienced the eight-hour long ride together.

"Food Scientists" Amy DeJong and Maya Warren were the first team to arrive at the Lifeboat Institute with Michael and Scott right on their heels.

The teams then learned they must drive themselves to Scalloway Castle and search there to find their next clue. "College Sweethearts" Tim Tsao and Te Jay McGrath got lost trying to find the castle, so they assumed they had fallen into last place.

Keith and Whitney were the first team to find their clue in the castle. They were soon followed by Michael and Scott, Adam and Bethany, and Amy and Maya. "Dating Pro Wrestlers" Brooke Adams and Robbie E. Strauss got to the castle next, followed by Misti and Jim, "Mother/Daughter" Shelley Porter and Nici Porter, and Tim and Te.

It then became time for the teams to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Pony Up" or "Light My Fire."

"Pony Up" required the Racers to cut 50 blocks of pete from a pete bank using a special spade called a tushka. Then, working with a Shetland pony, the Racers must deliver two loads of dried pete to a little house on a hill, where a farmer would hand them their next clue.

"Light My fire" required the teams to properly build a Viking torch and get it ready to be lit.

Misti and Jim, Amy and Maya, Shelley and Nici, and Adam and Bethany all opted to take on the pony task. Keith and Whitney, Brooke and Robbie, Tim and Te, Michael and Scott, and Kym and Alli selected the torch task instead.

Amy and Maya thought they didn't have the strength necessary to shovel the thick pete. However, once they figured out how to work the tool, the girls figured out it wasn't all that physical. Also during the pete task, the ponies proved to be aggressive and uncooperative for many teams.

On the flip side of the coin, Brooke and Robbie really struggled to create their torch, as the process was very detail-oriented and tedious. The couple ended up finishing their torch once all the other teams were gone, so they were convinced they were in last place.

Misti and Jim completed the Detour in first place. They were then followed by Shelley and Nici, Adam and Bethany, Amy and Maya, Tim and Te, Michael and Scott, Kym and Alli, Keith and Whitney, and finally Brooke and Robbie.

The teams were then instructed to drive themselves to Berry Farm on Berry Road in Scalloway.

Still maintaining their lead, Misti and Jim arrived at the farm before any of the other teams. Following behind them were Shelley and Nici, Adam and Bethany, Amy and Maya, Kym and Alli, Keith and Whitney, Tim and Te, Michael and Scott, and Brooke and Robbie.

Once at Berry Farm, the teams received their next set of clues, which instructed them to corral a flock of sheep -- just like a sheep dog would -- down a course and into an enclosed pen. Once the sheep were contained, the Racers would receive their next clue.

Tim and Te and Michael and Scott had the most trouble with the task. After many failed attempts, Scott tried to convince Michael of taking the four-hour time penalty and just going straight to the Pit Stop. Michael didn't want to give up so soon, so they kept trying and eventually got the sheep to follow their orders.

Misti and Jim finished the sheep task in first place and were soon followed by Amy and Maya, Adam and Bethany, Keith and Whitney, Shelley and Nici, Kym and Alli, Brooke and Robbie, Michael and Scott, and finally Tim and Te.

The teams were then shown a piece of jewelry and had to figure out where it was found. Michael and Scott seemed to think the piece belonged to a jewelry store, but once they got to the store, they realized they were wrong and apparently had traveled in the complete opposite direction of where they needed to go.

The answer was St. Ninian's Isle, which served as the Race's third Pit Stop.

Misti and Jim met The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan in first place on the Pit Stop mat. For winning the leg, they received a trip for two to Dubai.

Adam and Bethany finished the leg in second place, and Keith and Whitney secured third place. Following Keith and Whitney were Shelley and Nici in fourth, Amy and Maya in fifth, Brooke and Robbie in sixth, Kym and Alli in seventh, Tim and Te in eighth place, and finally Michael and Scott in ninth -- and last -- place.

Scott told Phil the Race was "very tough" and he hoped some firefighters back home had a good laugh.
