CBS has formally announced the identities of the 11 teams who will be competing on The Amazing Race's 27th season this fall.

The upcoming edition, which began filming in Venice Beach, CA, on Monday, will feature all new teams and air on Friday nights from 8-9PM ET/PT beginning September 25.

After the teams -- who all have a pre-existing relationship, unlike last season's "dating couples" and "blind dates" theme -- complete their first challenge, they'll head off to Rio de Janeiro.

The teams will embark on a trek around the world, and at every destination, take on mental or physical tasks. Once a challenge is completed, they'll receive a clue to their next destination. Last-place teams will be eliminated along the way until only one team remains. The winning couple to cross the finish line in first place will receive the $1 million grand prize.

Phil Keoghan will reprise his role as host. Additional details about the new season will be released at a later date.
