The Amazing Race's "Best Friends and Texans" Tanner Kloven and Josh Ahern survived a non-elimination leg during Friday night's broadcast of the CBS reality competition's 27th season.

Tanner and Josh arrived at the Race's eighth Pit Stop at the Jewish Quarter in Krakow, Poland, in last place. However, The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan revealed it was a non-elimination leg and they could keep racing.
The Race broadcast began with "Engaged Couple and Amazing Race Super Fans" Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop leaving the seventh Pit Stop in first place at 10:10PM. They were then followed by "Dating Co-Workers and News Anchors" Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta at 10:23PM, "Former NFL Cheerleaders" Tiffany Chantell and Krista Debono at 10:24PM, Tanner and Josh at 11:34PM, "Dating Paparazzi Business Partners" Logan Fazio and Chris Gordon at 12:12AM, and finally "Mother and Son" Denise Williams and James Corley at 12:36AM.
The teams' first set of clues instructed them to fly to Poland and search for Krakow Beach, where they'd find their next clue. The teams were able to book their flights via the Travelocity mobile application.
Justin and Diana took a train to Amsterdam first and then they booked the earliest flight that arrived in Krakow at 11:20AM. The rest of the teams secured seats on the flight that arrived in Krakow at 12:40PM.

Once at the beach, Justin and Diana found their clue at the bottom of the pool, so Justin had to dive in to get it. Logan and Chris were next to grab their clue, followed by Tanner and Josh, Tiffany and Krista, Kelsey and Joey, and Denise and James Earl.
It then became time for the teams to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Mine" or "Music."
"Mine" required the teams to travel 1,000 feet below the ground, pick up timber used to strengthen the mine's passages and then deliver it to a loading area. Then, after filling a mining cart with salt, they had to push the salt back through the tunnel where they'd earn their next clue.
"Music" required the teams to get a lesson from a violinist about how to accompany him on the piano. When ready to play, the teams had to muscle their piano out of the square to a performance area and earn 100 Zloty to receive their next clue.
Justin and Diana opted to take on the "Mine" task, as did Logan and Chris as well as Tanner and Josh.

Denise and James attempted "Music" along with Kelsey and Joey, and Tiffany and Krista.
Although it was apparently a 15-minute walk to the Detour locations, most teams tried to hail down a cab, including Tanner and Josh, who couldn't get one and therefore wasted a lot of time waiting for one. Tanner and Josh then unfortunately got lost in their taxi heading to the salt mine.
Kelsey and Joey were very personable and had an easy time racking in the money. Tiffany and Krista, on the other hand, struggled to make anything at first and ended up resorting to giving men kisses on the cheek in exchange for their donations.
Meanwhile, Tanner and Josh were way behind but hoped they could catch up to the other teams considering "Mine" was a physical task and they believed they could accomplish it quickly.
Justin and Diana finished the Detour task in first place. They were then followed by Kelsey and Joey, Denise and James, Chris and Logan, Tiffany and Krista, and finally Tanner and Josh.

The teams then learned they must make their way to the Oskar Schindler Factory, where Oskar Schindler was able to protect and save lives for over 1,000 Jewish workers and their families during the Holocaust. Once at this destination, teams took a moment of reflection before continuing on in the Race.
Afterwards, the teams were instructed to proceed to the Jewish Quarter and search for their next clue.
Justin and Diana got to the Jewish Quarter before any of the other teams. They were soon followed by Kelsey and Joey, Denise and James, Tiffany and Krista, Chris and Logan, and finally Josh and Tanner.
It then became time for one member of each team to complete a Roadblock task.
For the Roadblock, the participating Racers were required to use a provided dinner order, correctly identify seven traditional Jewish dishes, and then bring the correct number of dishes to a party in the restaurant. If the Racers could wrap their heads around the elaborate spread, their tip would be their next clue.

Justin chose to do the Roadblock for his team and he was later joined by Kelsey, James, Tiffany, Chris and Josh.
Everyone asked locals which food was which since they had never seen or even heard of most of the delicacies. Tiffany and Josh ended up working together because they figured Chris was ahead of both of them, and he was. Josh said it spoke of the all-girl team's character to help him. Because Tiffany grew exhausted carrying the heavy tray and her arms were about to give out, Josh let her get judged before him.
On the sidelines, Tanner and Krista knew they were in last place, so it upset them to know of them would be going home.
Once the teams completed the Roadblock, they were required to search for Phil somewhere inside the restaurant. Justin and Diana checked in to the Pit Stop in first place and won a trip for two to China.
Kelsey and Joey finished the leg in second place, Denise and James were behind them in third, and then Chris and Logan were on their heels in fourth place. Tiffany and Krista stepped on the Pit Stop mat in fifth place and started to cry because their buddies, Tanner and Josh, arrived in last.
However, Phil announced it was a non-elimination leg and both teams cheered. Phil told Tanner and Josh they'd encounter an additional Speed Bump task in the first leg, while there would also be a U-Turn. It was clear all the teams planned to U-Turn Justin and Diana -- as long as they could get to the U-Turn board before them.
Tanner and Josh felt very blessed to be able to stay in the Race and have another opportunity to win the $1 million.
