The Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti has revealed that she endured a chemical pregnancy before getting pregnant with her second child.

Ashley, who is currently expecting Baby No. 2 with husband Jared Haibon, recently took to Instagram and conducted a Q&A session with her fans.

A fan asked Ashley, 36, how long it took her to get pregnant both times -- first with her son Dawson, 2, and now with her second child, who is also a boy.

"Dawson took 7 months to conceive and baby #2 took 2 months. I had a chemical pregnancy the first month," Ashley shared, before providing the definition of a "chemical pregnancy."

Ashley continued, "A chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage that happens within the first five weeks of pregnancy. An embryo forms and may even embed in your uterus lining (implantation), but then it stops developing."

"Chemical pregnancies occur so early that many people who miscarry don't realize it," she added.

Ashley revealed how she got a positive-test result that same month.

"I started bleeding a few days later," the Bachelor in Paradise alum recalled. "I knew that was happening within an hour or so [because] a close friend also had a chemical pregnancy. I was sad for a few days, but it was Month #1 and my midwife was encouraging."

Ashley's midwife said it often happens that a woman will get pregnant a month after having a chemical pregnancy.

"It's almost like your body is in prepare mode," Ashley concluded.

Ashley and Jared announced in late January on Amazon Live that they're expecting their second child.

The Bachelor in Paradise couple then shared on February 23 how they have another baby boy on the way.

Jared gushed at the time, "I'm very excited for the times when... Dawson has a Little League game at 9, and then the other one has a game at 11, and we've got to get Dawson to karate while the other one has baseball. I mean, I'm hoping they love sports."

But Jared admitted to his wife, "I feel bad for you, because you're never going to have your girl. Because we're done."

"We are done [having children]!" Ashley confirmed. "It's funny because when it comes to gender disappointment, I had it so much 'worse' with Dawson. We found out, and I was upset for a day or two."

Jared complained about how he doesn't like the term "gender disappointed," but Ashley confessed that she had "a little moment" in her hotel room when she thought, "I'm never going to have a daughter?! That's so crazy because you imagine your life and you imagine with both."

"Of course, that's what I did," Jared acknowledged. "I always wanted one boy and one girl."

The pair, however, are thrilled no matter what, with Ashley adding, "I really actually do not even care what the combo is now, I just want them to be close. My sister and I were very best friends, so I wanted to maybe have two sisters."

Jared and Ashley, however, haven't agreed on a baby name for their second son.

Ashley said she likes Dominic, potentially naming her youngest son after her father, but Jared likes Ethan, which Ashley apparently really dislikes. They also like the names Logan and Clark, but that was the name of Jared's childhood dog.

Ashley announced she was pregnant with her first child in July 2021, and then she gave birth to Dawson in January 2022 after struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum. She was very sick during her pregnancy and threw up constantly.

Jared recently said that he'd like to have "that big family dynamic" yet the idea of having a lot of kids is "so overwhelming."

Ashley and Jared got married on August 11, 2019 at United Congregational Church Newport, RI, followed by a reception at Rosecliff, an oceanfront Gilded Age mansion in the seaside city.

The couple met in 2015 on Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, and they attempted to navigate an on-and-off confusing romance on the show that simmered into a friendship in which Ashley largely pined for Jared as he dated other women on Season 2 and Season 3 of BIP.

Jared said he realized his feelings for Ashley and admittedly wanted what he couldn't have when she sparked up a romance with Canadian firefighter Kevin Wendt on The Bachelor Winter Games.

Jared eventually won Ashley over and the couple confirmed they were dating in May 2018.

Jared then proposed marriage to Ashley and they got engaged the following month in Mexico while the fifth season of Bachelor in Paradise was filming.

Prior to their appearances on Bachelor in Paradise, Ashley competed for Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor's nineteenth season and Jared found fame on Kaitlyn Bristowe's edition of The Bachelorette for Season 11.
