The Bachelor alum Colton Underwood has revealed he and fiance Jordan C. Brown "definitely" want children together and they've seriously begun discussing their plan.

One month after getting engaged to the 38-year-old political strategist, Colton -- who starred on The Bachelor's 23rd season in 2019 and came out as gay, publicly, in April 2021 -- has dished on the couple's plans to expand their family.

Colton, 30, said he "definitely" wants kids with Jordan, adding in a Tuesday interview with Us Weekly, "I feel like I was born to be a dad."

"There's nothing more in this world that I want than to raise kids," Colton shared. "I'm really excited for when that time comes."

However, Colton and Jordan haven't decided on an exact timeline for when a baby will come into the picture.

Colton said he's not sure when to "throw kids into what [he's] been through these last few years."

Colton was referring to his highly-publicized and volatile split from his The Bachelor winner Cassie Randolph, who accused the former pro football player of trying to monetize their breakup before filing a September 2020 restraining order against him for allegedly tracking her whereabouts and sending her "unsettling" text messages.

"There's no true timeline," the Beyond the Edge contestant said.

"Life happens. Who knows, maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and want to start the process. But as of right now, we're sort of enjoying this moment and taking it as it comes."

During an appearance on "The Ben and Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast" last week, Colton confirmed he's already done "a lot of research" on having a baby with Jordan.

"I had to do a lot of research in trying to figure out how the kids process worked now that I'm out and in a happily-gay relationship," Colton told Bachelor Nation's Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti.

When asked if they're thinking about adoption or surrogate, Colton revealed, "We're thinking surrogate."

"So there's a lot of work that goes into that. I did not know all of the steps, and I'm really, really excited about that, the process," Colton said.

"And it's pretty scientifically unbelievable -- the amount of choices you get to make now when it comes to building your embryos. So it's a very, very exciting process and something we're excited to start."

Colton reiterated at the time how he and Jordan "have not started yet," but they're pretty much ready.

"We've had the conversation to start it and figure out what that's going to look like timeline-wise," Colton said.

Colton and Jordan got engaged in Big Sur, CA, following the former The Bachelor star's big and "unforgettable" 30th birthday celebration in late January with his loved ones.

Colton announced his engagement on Instagram in February and recently revealed how Jordan -- whom he met through mutual friends -- was the one who popped the question.

Colton said he and Jordan had an open and honest conversation beforehand about Colton's desire for Jordan to take the reins on proposing marriage.

"We knew very early on that we were meant to be for each other. My only thing was, 'I want to be surprised when you ask me.' So he did a great job," Colton told Us.

Colton and Jordan exchanged gold necklaces that have their birth stones and first initials interlocked on them, and the former NFL player said his family loves and totally approves of his new fiance.

Colton said earlier this month that he and Jordan would like a shorter engagement and to have an outdoor wedding.

Colton and Jordan were first linked in September 2021, when they were photographed kissing and flirting during a romantic getaway to a Four Seasons resort in Maui, HI.

Colton flirted with Jordan on Instagram in November 2021, and they went Instagram official with their relationship in early December 2021.

One day after Colton's docu-reality series Coming Out Colton premiered December 3 on Netflix, Colton posted photos of the pair on his Instagram Story and wrote to Jordan, "Happy birthday to my dog-loving, family man, corn-fed love."

Colton told People last year that he feels like "the luckiest person" to have Jordan by his side.

Within a month of making their relationship public, Colton and Jordan purchased a $3 million home together in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Colton told Good Morning America last year that he realized he was different at the age of six and came to the conclusion he's gay when he was a freshman in high school.

Colton said he hated himself "for a long time" and was "a miserable person living as a shell of a human being" while pretending to be straight for well over a decade.

In addition to having starred on The Bachelor, Colton also appeared on two other seasons of The Bachelor franchise in which he dated women on television: The Bachelorette 14 starring Becca Kufrin and Bachelor in Paradise 5 when he dated Tia Booth.

Colton has said in the press he thought being the Bachelor and dating Cassie could make him straight but he was ultimately lying to himself and he feels badly for having hurt so many women on his season.

Cassie has since moved on and is happily dating boyfriend Brighton Reinhardt.
