The Bachelor's Becca Kufrin has gone through the stages of loss and grief after her failed relationship with Arie Luyendyk Jr., and now she's opening up about the shocking moment her heart broke into pieces.

"I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy," the 27-year-old Minnesota publicist told People. "It was like a slap in the face."
When Arie called off his engagement to Becca, she didn't only lose her fiance -- she lost the bright future she had envisioned for herself as a wife and eventual mother.
"I never thought for a million years that once the going started to get tough that he would throw in the towel and jump ship and say, 'Oh sorry, I changed my mind.' I didn't think we were at that point whatsoever," Becca said.
About six to eight weeks after Arie proposed marriage to Becca in Peru in November 2017, he dumped her on-camera during what was supposed to be a romantic "happy couple visit" in Los Angeles.

Arie explained to Becca that while they made sense as a couple, his heart belonged to Lauren and he couldn't stop thinking about her.
Arie wanted Lauren back, and he even admitted to Becca that part of his decision to part ways so soon was because he feared the possibility of reconciling with Lauren would drift farther away with each passing day.
"It was embarrassing the way he broke up with me with the full cameras and crew around," Becca told People of the unedited, uncut scene that aired on Monday night and had fans cringing all over the world.
"There was a better and more tactful way to do it. A breakup is hard enough, and to have it all filmed and have to re-watch it and know that people all across the country are watching you get your heart broken, it is embarrassing. It's not fun."

Becca pointed out to Arie during their last moments together in Los Angeles that if he was so conflicted between Lauren and herself in Peru, he never should have picked out a ring and gotten down on one knee.

"I wish he hadn't proposed. At that point, I loved him and I wanted to be with him. Even if on that last day, he said, 'I'm still uncertain, this is a big move, I don't want to get down on one knee unless I'm 1000 percent sure, but I still want to be with you,' I would have been fine with that," Becca confessed.
Becca said she would have told Arie that she loved him and still wanted to be with him, regardless.
"I even asked him a couple times if he felt like he was certain like that was the right move at that point and every time he said, 'I'm happy with the decision and I feel confident in us.' From what he was telling me and from even that grand gesture, I thought nobody would do that unless they did feel 100 percent confident," Becca shared.

In fact, when Arie popped the question, he promised Becca that he chose her that day and would continue to choose her every day going forward.
"He did propose to me, he did say, 'I'm committing to you'... That's something that I only wanted to happen once in my life, and it's been robbed from me, and I can never have that one-time moment again," Becca vented.

"And the second part is that he lied or hid his true feelings and emotions for weeks and weeks and weeks. The number one thing that I value in a relationship is honesty and loyalty, and I feel like I wasn't given that."
Arie's season of The Bachelor will conclude Tuesday night with a two-hour After the Final Rose special airing at 8PM ET/PT on ABC. Viewers will find out whether Lauren gave Arie a second chance and what the current status of the pro racing driver's love life is now.

Becca will also be shown confronting Arie and Lauren face-to-face. While she might be shown putting Arie in his place, and deservedly so, she's apparently found it in her heart to forgive him.
"He's a good person, I don't think he's a monster and purposely did this to hurt me and make me feel this way. But it's just the result of his actions," Becca explained to the magazine.
"At the end of the day, I don't think he thought through everything of how ending things with Lauren would be, how being engaged to me would be, and what breaking up with me and going back to her would be. I don't think he thought it through, but I don't think he did it maliciously to break my heart."
