The Bachelor's upcoming season will feature an appearance by country singer Chase Rice, and according to Chase, he was duped by show producers' request that he perform during Peter Weber's one-on-one date with bachelorette Victoria Fuller, whom Chase has previously dated.

After Chase confirmed he'll be performing on an episode of The Bachelor's 24th season while walking the red carpet at the CMA Awards earlier this week, The Morning Toast hosts Jackie Oshry and Claudia Oshry asked the singer if the upcoming season will also show him involved in a love triangle with Peter and Victoria.

"It ain't no love triangle, I'll tell you that," Chase replied in a video of the interview and that was captured by Bachelor Nation Scoop's Instagram account.

"The love's on their side. I wish them the best. I don't know what happens there, but I wanted to go on and promote my music."

Chase explained he wanted to go on The Bachelor's 24th season -- which has been filming since September and will premiere on ABC in January -- simply to promote his songs "Lonely If You Are" and "Eyes on You."

"And they brought a little extra curricular activity into that," Chase recalled. "They are [sneaky]."

Claudia pointed out The Bachelor producers "obviously set you up," and then Chase agreed, "Yeah, I mean, they set everybody up. Here's my thing: I didn't sign up for that. That's my problem with it."

Chase continued, "At the end of the day, they had a job to do, and I don't need to be a part of that. I mean, I went on there to promote my music, and that's all it should've been. It wasn't."

Chase, however, thinks there's a silver lining to it all.

"Conveniently though, whatever week that airs, I will be putting out new music that week," Chase shared.

Victoria received the first one-on-one date during Peter's round of dates in Cleveland on October 2, according to numerous social-media postings and videos from The Bachelor fans who attended the musical portion of the date, which featured Chase performing at Cedar Point, a nearby amusement park.

"They had the park to themselves for the whole day and went on rides earlier. They were surprised the crowd greeted them for the Chase Rice concert," Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone tweeted on October 2.

However, drama apparently ensued during the musical-performance portion of the date because of Victoria's prior relationship with Chase. 

"Is it normal that a musical act on this show was already following one of the contestants [on social media] before she was ever on? And THAT particular contestant was specifically chosen for THIS particular date? Hmmmmmm," Carbone tweeted last month, suggesting The Bachelor producers deliberately selected Victoria for the date.

"I get emailed a lot of things about contestants. Before the show ever started filming, I was emailed quite a few things about Victoria. One thing in the laundry list that was sent to me was that she definitely had spent time with/hung out/dated Chase Rice pre-show that's why he follows her on IG."

Carbone elaborated on his findings at the time, "I don't know how serious it was, how long it was for, or how/why it ended. But don't think for a second Victoria being on today's 1-on-1 wasn't done on purpose."

Victoria reportedly put on a good face for the crowd who was watching her dance onstage with Peter at the concert, but once they got off the stage, her attitude change.

"Victoria was visibly upset talking to her producer with her arms crossed. Peter talked to Chase first. Then Victoria went to talk to Chase behind the tent w/ 2 camera crews filming the entire time. Soooo yeah, definitely more to this story," Carbone tweeted.

This isn't the first reality TV show Chase has appeared on, as he previously competed on Survivor: Nicaragua back in 2010.

ABC announced earlier this week The Bachelor's 24th season will premiere with a three-hour event on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
