The Bachelor host Chris Harrison has explained why Madison Prewett, Hannah Ann Sluss, and Victoria Fuller were forced to live together during Peter Weber's Fantasy Suite week.

Monday night's episode of The Bachelor showed Madison and Hannah Ann shocked to see each other once they arrived at a hotel suite in Gold Coast, Australia, where producers said they'd be living for the week of Peter's Fantasy Suite dates.

The dynamic became even more uncomfortable once Victoria Fuller also showed up, with Victoria flat out telling the cameras it was "so awkward" to live with the other two women when they were all about to embark on their most intimate and personal dates with Peter yet.
During an appearance on Bachelor Happy Hour podcast hosted by former The Bachelorette stars Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin, Chris revealed why producers chose to put Peter's Final 3 women into the tense environment during a critical time in Peter's journey to find love.

"Chris, why are they all living together?" Rachel asked the longtime The Bachelor host.
"Well, good question," Chris replied.
"Other than the obvious answer," Rachel interjected with a laugh.
"You two have been through this so you actually have the perspective," Chris replied.
"There are times when, no matter how great you are -- and you both were great Bachelorettes -- but you can't get out of your own way. And that's part of why you're single."

Chris continued on Bachelor Happy Hour, "And Peter, for example, has trouble making decisions. I don't know if you guys have noticed that."
"We have," Rachel said with confidence. "We have. We've talked about it quite a bit."
"Newsflash, everyone," Becca pointed out sarcastically.

"Yeah, he is the king of kicking the can down the road. Heaven forbid you make a decision!" Chris joked.

"But there are things that we do as producers that will force you into this uncomfortable zone and force you into making a decision. Sometimes we do it for your behalf [and] sometimes we do it for the Bachelor, the guys, or the girls."
Chris explained that Madison had been dragging her feet on revealing to Peter she was a virgin and wouldn't appreciate him sleeping with other women on his The Bachelor season, and at the same time, the host noted Peter was pretty indecisive on Season 24.
"This situation was pretty extraordinary because Peter had kicked the can down the road, but this time also Madison had," Chris explained.
"And so, this was to force a situation that had to happen -- and it had to happen this week, because if we get to proposal week, then this guy is really screwed and there's no chance this works!"
"We gotta figure this out and there's really only one way to do it," Chris added.

Chris therefore suggested Hannah Ann, Madison and Victoria living together would get a discussion going and prompt the ladies to share their feelings on Madison's extreme viewpoint of Fantasy Suites.
"And so, yeah, it was tough love and it was really awkward and, again, as you know, in the history of the show, I don't know if we've ever done this," Chris told Rachel and Becca on the podcast.
"But we decided to do it this week because these are conversations that needed to be had."

As shown on The Bachelor's latest episode, Madison felt she couldn't continue on in the process and potentially get engaged to Peter if he chose to have sex with Hannah Ann, Victoria or both of them.
Before Fantasy Suites commenced, Madison therefore vaguely advised Peter to show he cared for her through his actions rather than his words. The bachelorette said she'd have a really hard time being with Peter if he gave himself physically to her competition.
But it wasn't until Madison was enjoying dinner with Peter on their Fantasy Suite date in Australia when she revealed she's a virgin and that's why her standards and expectations of her partner were so high.
Chris further elaborated that producers decided to make the Final 3 women live together because of "I think, the double standard in the things that Peter was gonna deal with."
"We kind of needed the women's perspective on this," Chris admitted.
"We needed Madison to face Victoria and Hannah Ann and have them express their emotions on this because, again, it's just this guy and his perspective, and I don't know if that's the greatest thing right now."
Both Hannah Ann and Victoria ended up being shocked and appalled by Madison's decision to essentially give Peter an ultimatum about sleeping with other women in the Fantasy Suites.

Victoria, however, voiced her frustration more than Hannah Ann, according to what was shown on The Bachelor.
"To question somebody and put him on the spot about other relationships that are private, I don't know. That just doesn't really sit well with me," Victoria told Hannah Ann.

Victoria then said in a confessional on Monday night's episode, "Putting him in that position is so unfair. I just don't want Peter to feel bad about any decisions he's made up to this point. I care about him so much that it makes me mad for him. I don't think that's right -- no matter what your values and morals are."
Victoria also told Hannah Ann it wasn't fair for Madison to expect Peter to not be intimate when he had two other real relationships developing and being established.
Madison's Fantasy Suite date with Peter took place after he had already spent back-to-back nights with Hannah Ann and Victoria.
Although Peter would not reveal details to Madison about his sex life during their Fantasy Suite date, Peter confessed, "I don't know how else to do this, but I'll just be very honest... I have been intimate, and I can't lie to you about that."
Peter admitted that while he could absolutely see a future with Madison, he thought the same about the other two women when the Fantasy Suite week began.
Madison appeared devastated and excused herself from her dinner with Peter. Peter was left crying alone at the table and then begged Madison not to walk away from him or their relationship -- but she was shown doing just that.
Madison walked away from Peter instead of moving forward with their date, and Monday night's episode ended on a cliffhanger.
