The Bachelor host Chris Harrison has revealed producers feared Peter Weber's season of the show might end over Hannah Brown, who essentially admitted to Peter she still had feelings for him at the beginning of his journey to find love on Season 24.

"The conversation you're witnessing right now was not supposed to happen. That was not ever produced or intended. It's just something that organically happened," Chris said, according to Us.
"And then it scared the hell out of all of us because the show might end."
Chris went on to say the upcoming January 13 episode of The Bachelor won't waste any time getting back into Hannah and Peter's deep conversation.
"Monday, people need to be warned that we're going to pick up right where we left off," Chris reportedly teased.
"It is immediately right back into that riveting, gut-wrenching, I-probably-shouldn't-be-watching-this-personal-moment moment."
Hannah and Peter had an intense and emotional heart-to-heart during the second group date that aired in The Bachelor's three-hour premiere on January 6.
Hannah suggested she wasn't over Peter and admitted the pilot was supposed to be in her Final 2 suitors with winner Jed Wyatt on The Bachelorette's fifteenth season, which in turn left Peter feeling conflicted and confused about how he should proceed in his televised journey to find his perfect match.
After all, seeing Hannah again brought back old feelings for Peter, who truly loved Hannah on The Bachelorette but was eliminated in third place behind runner-up Tyler Cameron.

Chris therefore acknowledged producers were aware Peter and Hannah's reunion "could go really wrong" and Peter could have chosen to quit The Bachelor and go home with the former beauty queen.

"If I was teaching a class, I would say, 'Create a show completely and utterly unlike The Bachelor,' because as a producer, you should know the middle, beginning and the end. And we don't know that," Chris said, according to Us.
"The show could end at any moment for us. It's unpredictable. It's out of our control. And that's a terrible way to do television. It's really dumb! But sometimes it lends itself to great TV."
Colton Underwood's edition was an example of an unpredictable ending as well, as Colton jumped a fence to escape production and nearly quit the show after the winner of his heart, Cassie Randolph, threatened to go home because she wasn't ready to get engaged.
(Colton and Cassie ended up together despite the odds and are still dating).
Chris added that Peter and Hannah's discussion during the group date was so intimate producers were reluctant to keep cameras rolling at the time it filmed in September 2019.
"While this was happening, [we were] thinking, 'Should we be filming this? I don't know, it's so personal.' But this is what makes Hannah and Peter so lovable and so likable," Chris reportedly explained.
"They are willing to go there and really expose themselves and obviously there are issues and things in their relationship they thought were resolved. They're not."

Fans will find out what Hannah and Peter decided on Episode 2 of The Bachelor's 24th season.
"I can't help how my heart feels," Peter told the cameras at the end of the premiere broadcast.
"I look at her and I just don't want to stop looking at her and I want to just kiss her and just have had all this work out. And it didn't. And I know it didn't."
"I just feel like such a jerk," he vented, "because I have such awesome girls here expecting to meet someone that was truly ready to have this work for them as well. And -- I don't know."
