The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer has teased what viewers can expect to see on Zach Shallcross' upcoming season.

"I haven't seen any of it yet... [but] I would say that Zach's season is a bit of a throwback season, in the sense that this is really about the love story; it's not so much about the drama," Jesse told Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young on the January 4 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.
"And I know in some past seasons, drama takes over. With every season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, there is going to be drama. It's just something that you can't avoid."

But Jesse insisted Zach's season "is less about" confrontations, catfights, and competition between the bachelorettes.

"It's really more about the love story and about Zach trying to find his person," Jesse insisted.
Jesse also said this is "easily the most emotional season" he's ever hosted, adding that other The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise editions since he began hosting in 2021 are "not even close."
"I think it's a lot of expressive emotion, maybe more than Paradise," Jesse noted. "I'm not kidding, by the way!"
Jesse recalled feeling a different vibe while filming Zach's season immediately on Night 1.
"I remember watching the women get out of the limo and it was a first for me in the sense that it was the most I've ever seen of people getting out of the limo, walking up to the lead, and saying, 'I'm so happy it's you. I'm here for you. When I found out you were the Bachelor, I decided I wanted to come and do this,'" Jesse explained to the two former The Bachelorette stars.

"I didn't see that with [Season 26 star Clayton Echard] obviously because no one saw Clayton on TV before we started filming."

Many bachelorettes had never seen Clayton before when they began filming The Bachelor's 26th season, which filmed in late 2021 and aired in early 2022.
"These women I think, were very emotionally invested and hopeful for Zach," Jesse noted.
Jesse also said Zach "cries a lot" and showed his emotion "early" in the dating process.

"Zach is an extremely emotional Bachelor. He's a very emotional man. He's expressive... But it's because he has such a big heart and he genuinely cares about people's feelings and how his actions affect people," Jesse explained.
Jesse reiterated how Zach's season is emotional "not because of drama or backstabbing or things that happen behind the scenes" but rather because "of the love."
"The relationships he forms, to me, is something that really stands out," Jesse said of Zach.
The Bachelor premieres its new season on Monday, January 23 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
ABC just released the official cast of 30 bachelorettes who will be competing for Zach's heart last week.

Zach recently told BachelorNation.com that he wants to find a "really compassionate" woman who's "kind to everyone."

"I think a lot of people can be really self-involved. So how you treat people on a day-to-day basis is really important to me," Zach said. "I just want someone who is a really kind, compassionate person."
He also said that going into filming, he was "most nervous" about meeting a woman who was on the show for the wrong reasons.
"I'm most nervous about the fact that there could be people that are on this journey and a part of this experience that don't take it seriously and don't want to actually find love," Zach shared.
"I want to find someone who truly wants a future with me, so that's what scares me the most."
Jesse teased on Becca and Michelle's podcast how Zach really "shines" on The Bachelor and has "a beautiful story" to tell.
However, Jesse is worried Zach isn't prepared for what's coming up.
Based on a trailer of the new season that was released by ABC during Bachelor in Paradise's Season 8 reunion on November 22, The Bachelor's 27th edition certainly promises to be dramatic.
Former The Bachelor bachelorette Tahzjuan Hawkins apparently returns for another shot at love, prompting one bachelorette to complain in the preview, "We don't need another girl here."

And Zach admits he feels like "a failure," before crying about one woman, "I saw something with her."
Zach's season began filming in late September, which is when ABC also released 32 potential cast members.
Zach emotionally self-eliminated on The Bachelorette 19 following his overnight Fantasy Suite date with Rachel.
While Zach pictured the flight instructor as "the future Mrs. Shallcross" and gushed to the cameras about how he was madly in love with her, Zach found her to be "inauthentic" in the Fantasy Suite and totally unlike herself.
Once Zach confronted Rachel about his concerns, he decided to leave the show at the Final 3 Rose Ceremony. He could tell that he wasn't going to be Rachel's "person" and essentially beat her to the punch.
Zach ultimately apologized to Rachel on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose for questioning her character, but Rachel insisted no apology was necessary and he had every right to feel that way.
Zach was officially announced as The Bachelor star for Season 27 in late September on After the Final Rose. On that special, he was introduced to five of his bachelorettes, including Brianna Thorbourne, who received "America's First Impression Rose" in front of a live audience.
