The Bachelor star Colton Underwood was brutally dumped by Cassie Randolph and left completely heartbroken, causing him to attempt to quit the show, during Monday night's Season 23 episode on ABC.

Once Cassie eliminated herself and exited in tears -- after Colton professed he was "in love" with her and had chosen her out of the Final 3 -- Colton pushed a camera out of his face, ripped off his microphone, and jumped a fence in order to escape production.
The Bachelor broadcast began with Colton sitting down with host Chris Harrison to discuss potentially losing his virginity in the Fantasy Suite after saying goodbye to Caelynn Miller-Keyes.

Colton told Harrison if he could fall completely in love in Portugal, it would be very likely he'd make love to that woman.
"I want to make love to somebody who I'm in love with, who's in love with me, and someone whom I can wake up the next morning and look at and hopefully know that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with this person," Colton said in a confessional.
"To me, that would be the ultimate, ideal way of me losing my virginity. This week is going to be the biggest week and the most telling week out of all of this... I've been waiting forever for this moment. I'm going to Fantasy Suites -- finally!"
In Portugal, Tayshia Adams was hoping to explore the physical side of her relationship with Colton because she was smitten with him and ready to take their relationship to the next level.
Cassie liked Colton's sincerity and confidence, but she didn't want to rush into saying, "I'm falling in love with you," until she truly meant it. She was looking forward to exploring her feelings more.
And Hannah Godwin could envision herself spending forever with Colton. She was excited, unafraid and totally ready to say "yes" if Colton got down on one knee.
Colton's first date was with Tayshia, and the couple explored the city via helicopter. Colton had a strong connection with Tayshia "right off the bat" and he was falling in love with her. They had great chemistry and Colton said he felt great just being with her.

Colton, however, had to determine if Tayshia was the woman with whom he'd want to spend the rest of his life.
The couple landed at Cabo Sao Vincent, a magical establishment located on a cliff. They discussed how great her hometown date went and how Colton had received Tayshia's father's blessing to propose marriage.
After an amazing day, Tayshia was ready to have sex with Colton that night. She predicted he would be "extremely nervous," but she was prepared to comfort and reassure him.
Tayshia revealed she was definitely "in love" with Colton and she only has sex with people she's in love with.
As for Colton, he was waiting to see what intimacy with Tayshia would look like behind closed doors in order to determine whether she's The One for him.
Colton told the cameras of his first time, "It will be caring, it will be passionate, and it will be something that I will remember forever."
At dinner that night, Tayshia shared how her husband was the first person she had sex with. Tayshia knew they shared the same values and morals.
Tayshia then she opened up about how her husband had cheated on her about a year-and-a-half into her marriage.

Tayshia felt ashamed at the time but has come a long way since then. Her views on intimacy haven't changed and she felt she could trust Colton.
Colton then offered Tayshia an invitation to the Fantasy Suite, and she was thrilled to accept the key.
"I might be the person Colton could be waiting for. I don't know if he'll wake up a virgin tomorrow. If he has a big smile in the morning, I bet you could guess why," Tayshia said in a confessional.
Once inside the hotel suite, the couple popped champagne. Colton wasn't worried about his "performance" because he said he's done basically everything else related to sexual intimacy and was "pretty experienced in other ways."
The night, however, clearly didn't go as planned for Tayshia.
"Last night was good," Colton told Tayshia with a smile, adding that he enjoyed their conversation.
Tayshia said the night was "interesting" and was "new territory" for them both. Tayshia picked up on how nervous Colton was and just tried to be supportive.
Tayshia didn't want to pressure Colton to have sex, so they didn't engage in the act after all.
But Tayshia still loved spending time with Colton and getting to know him better off-camera. Tayshia's time with him just validated her feelings, and she professed her love to him.
"I knew I wasn't ready to take the next step with her. Right now, I'm not in love. I am falling in love. Although I still feel great in the relationship, my mind is automatically thinking about the other two relationships," Colton admitted to cameras.

Tayshia was "freaking out" once she left her date and wished she had more time with Colton. She knew Colton cared about her, but she also knew Colton was invested in two other relationships.

The next day, Colton embarked on his one-on-one date with Cassie. The pair drove through the city's streets and Colton revealed he realized he was dating "someone very special" in Singapore.
Colton saw great potential to fall in love with Cassie that day, and he and Cassie had a blast trying new food, dancing to local music, shopping, and having fun.
"There's just something about her. There's something in the way she makes me feel. She has a goofy, fun and playful side of her, and then she still has this sexy, edgy, confident side to her as well," Colton explained.
Cassie felt happy and great when she was with Colton, whom she called "a really easy person to love." She cared about him greatly, but she still couldn't say she was falling in love with him.
"He makes me feel comfortable and safe, and I can really see a future with him," Cassie noted.
The couple kept stealing moments to kiss, and Colton acknowledged Cassie made him feel "complete." However, he was still waiting for Cassie to verbalize her feelings for him.
"She has given me every reason to think she's falling for me. After today, I just know for sure I love Cassie. Point blank," Colton said in a confessional.
"I want to be in love the first time I have sex... and I feel like tonight could possibly be the night I've been looking forward to the whole entire journey."

Cassie and Colton seemed to connect on many levels and found their dynamic easy, but their conversation took an awkward turn when Colton revealed her father, Matt, never gave his blessing for them to get engaged.
Cassie was shocked because she thought her parents and family approved of Colton and their potential union. Cassie was also led to believe her father and mother trusted her decisions.

Colton did not feel discouraged about their relationship, but Cassie was still taken aback and surprised it didn't bother Colton more.
"I wish you told me then," Cassie admitted. "It makes me frustrated."
It was very important to Cassie that her family approves of Colton. She cared so much about their opinion, and so she was extremely sad and disappointed.
"The fact they weren't 100 percent sold on me and Colton together kind of freaks me out. And then it makes me confused if he's the right person or we just need more time. I don't think I've ever been so confused about something this big," Cassie cried to the cameras.
Colton kept falling more and more in love with Cassie, but Cassie was clearly taking steps back.
Suddenly, Cassie's father arrived in Portugal and surprised his daughter. He thought a serious conversation needed to be had.

Matt explained to Cassie that the family was not convinced she was in love with Colton and so they were worried about her rushing into an engagement she wasn't ready for.
Matt didn't want his daughter to get engaged unless she was certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was in love with him and he's the man with whom she wants to spend the rest of her life.
Cassie told her father she thought she was in love, but Matt could tell she was "conflicted."
Cassie admitted she needed more time with Colton. While she didn't want to end their relationship, she needed more time before accepting a proposal given that's a huge step.

Cassie then broke down into tears because the clarity she so desperately wanted was still missing. Cassie definitely had doubts about Colton and their relationship, and Matt advised her not to force it.
Matt said a relationship like his own doesn't come around often, because he was sold on his wife the minute he met her.
Matt told Cassie not to lead Colton on because she'd be doing a disservice to both Colton and herself. He asked her to follow her heart, and Cassie realized in that moment she did not know Colton was The One.
"I want to feel 100 percent this is the person for me; I am in love, and be 100 percent confident in it. That's what I want... and I don't have that right now," Cassie told the cameras.

Cassie therefore determined she needed to be honest with herself and Colton that night.
"I know what I have to do. I have to send myself home tonight. I just hope I can go through with it. I feel sick," Cassie said in a confessional.
Colton was in a very good place and so excited about his night with Cassie, but he had no idea what was coming next.
"Even thought today didn't go great, I know Cass is the one. Outside of all of this, I can definitely see us working forever," Cassie told the cameras.
"I feel my whole life has been leading to tonight because I love Cassie. I want to be with Cassie. My heart is complete when I hang out with Cassie."
The couple's conversation started on a nice note, but then Cassie opened up about her fears, hesitation and confusion.

"I don't want to see you leave here not having what you came here for," Cassie said.
But Colton said if he didn't get his happy ending with the woman whom he felt strongest about and saw the most potential with, it wouldn't be worth having.

"I want you to have what you want. Today was so perfect and I love you so much, like, so much. But I couldn't after today -- like, I'm not 'in love,' you know what I mean? I don't know why after today I'm not," Cassie told Colton.
Colton seemed immediately devastated by Cassie's revelation. She was so confused, and Colton was silent.
Colton asked Cassie if she was planning on leaving that night, and Cassie admitted that was the case.
"I care about you so much, but I don't know if I can get there with you," Cassie told him. "I don't understand. I don't know. I don't know. I hate that I don't know. I just wish I knew."
Cassie then walked away from Colton, who was left trying to compose himself. Colton eventually walked up to Cassie, gave her a hug, and said he'd wait for her and was perfectly fine with "being patient."
Colton didn't need to get engaged at the end of this process as long as they ended up together. Colton told Cassie she was putting too much pressure on herself, but she couldn't stop crying about her concerns for their future.
"I don't know if I'm going to get there," Cassie repeated.
"Did you already make a decision about what you want to do?" Colton asked.

Colton told Cassie that he didn't want to lose her and was willing to fight for their relationship.
The couple then sat back down to talk more, and Colton's entire body was visibly shaking. His heart was breaking.
"I want to be with you. I want to be around you. I can't stop thinking about you when I'm not with you, and it's not easy going through this and going on dates with other women when all I do is think about you," Colton told Cassie.
Colton added he wasn't going to give up and walk away from their relationship.
"It's okay not to know," Colton said.
"I don't know if it's okay not to know," Cassie insisted. "I feel like I should know."
Colton said he saw his future with Cassie and it would be okay for her to take her time. Colton was prepared to just date Cassie in order to be with her at the end of this.
"I'm in love with you," Colton told Cassie, unsure of where her doubts were coming from.
Colton flat out told Cassie that he wanted to be with her at the end, regardless of the fact two other women were still competing for his heart. Colton was in love with Cassie and told her that he just wanted to be with her.
Colton said he was ready to give Cassie all the time and space she needed, but he was never going to stop fighting for her -- even if she decided to leave.
Cassie determined staying on the show would be the wrong decision for her, and so after a few emotional hugs and kisses, she chose to depart Portugal.

Colton admitted to Cassie she had broken his heart, but Cassie insisted leaving broke her heart as well. Colton assured Cassie he wasn't mad at her on her way out.
Colton then stormed away from production. Not only did he push a camera out of his face and throw his microphone to the ground, but he jumped a six-foot fence and ran away.
Harrison called after Colton and went looking for him "in the middle of nowhere."
"Holy f-ck. He is gone," Harrison noted.
The episode concluded with Harrison and the crew looking for Colton in the dark of the night.
