Three more suitors were sent packing by U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin during the third episode of ABC's The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman last night, cutting the total number of remaining bachelorettes to nine.

The nine remaining bachelorettes on The Bachelor's tenth installment are Amber, a 23-year-old teacher who currently resides in Sugar Land, TX; Bevin Powers, a 28-year-old clinic research coordinator who currently resides in Palo Alto, CA; Danielle Imwalle, a 25-year-old graphic designer who currently resides in Bethel, CT; Kate Brockhouse, a 24-year-old boutique owner who currently resides in Charleston, SC; Nicole Clary, a 26-year-old sales manager who currently resides in Charleston, SC; Stephanie Tipper, a 27-year-old organ donor coordinator who currently resides in Folly Beach, SC; Stephanie W., a 23-year-old project manager who currently resides in Overland Park, KS; Tessa Horst, a 26-year-old social worker who currently resides in San Francisco, CA; and Tina, a 26-year-old medical student who currently resides in Hollywood, CA.
The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman's third episode began with Kate explaining how the girls were "hungover" and "tired," which was unfortunate since they would be getting a taste of Andy's regiment when they were met early in the morning by a drill sergeant. Instead of "drinking by the pool" and "hanging out" like Erin wanted, the 12 remaining girls learned they'd be participating in bachelorette boot camp. While the exercise would give the girls a "small glimpse" into Andy's life, the boot camp exercise also served a purpose -- one suitor who "earned and deserved" a rose would receive one and be safe from elimination.
Boot camp began with the girls scrubbing bathroom floor tiles before they participated in some physical activities. Nicole was late in joining the group and got chewed-out by the drill sergeant, causing her to comment she felt "absolutely miserable." As the girls continued to exercise, Bevin tried extra hard because she "really wants the rose." She would get it, but not how she envisioned. As the girls completed the low crawl and tire run, Bevin fell to the ground, began crying and rolled around on the grass, explaining she "felt a snap." According to Peyton, Andy then arrived "like a knight in shining armor" running up the driveway. The bachelor's diagnosis: "displaced fracture of the left ankle."

With their boot camp experience coming to an unexpected end, the 11 remaining girls gathered in the living room of their house to await word on Bevin. Tessa said they were all "a little bit worried," but soon learned Bevin was still at the hospital but had no broken bones and would be returning soon. As was the case in the second episode, the girls then learned there would be two group dates in which no roses would be awarded, each girl would receive some "special quality time," and then "one lucky lady" would get to stay for a one-on-one date. However there would also be a special "two-on-one date," where two girls would go on a date with Andy but only one would return.
Tina, Stephanie W., Stephanie T., Nicole and Amber were notified that they'd be going on first group date -- a group mud bath -- with Andy. Before the date began, Amber made it clear that she was looking forward to stealing some one-on-one time with Andy from Stephanie T. -- who received The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman's first impression rose during the premiere -- but Stephanie T. had other ideas.
"I like a woman who can get down and dirty," said Andy as he and the five girls on the first date bathed in some mud. Stephanie W. thought Stephanie T. was "stealing all the attention," and Nicole noticed the same thing. Tina didn't care which girl was getting the attention, but if it wasn't her, she was feeling uncomfortable. "I don't want other girls putting their hands on the man I'm supposed to marry," she said.
Meanwhile back at the house, Bevin returned from the hospital and made the other girls jealous when she revealed Andy spent alone time with her and even gave her a watch.
While Stephanie T. was confident she'd get to remain for the mud bath group's one-on-one date with Andy, he instead decided to choose Stephanie W. As Stephanie W. and Andy went for their massages, Stephanie T. was finally knocked down a peg.
"I thought me and Andy had something special. That connection I did have with him is being threatened," said Stephanie T. "I'm not too happy about that at all." Andy said he felt "really comfortable" around Stephanie W. (or "Stephanie Kansas" as he calls her), and she even got the chance to step in for the masseuse to rub the bachelor's back. She described his body as "hard" before adding he "had muscles in places I didn't even know existed." Andy called Stephanie W. "sweet" and commented he made the "right choice" in selecting her for the additional one-on-one time.

Back at the house, a message arrived for Amanda, Bevin, Danielle, Erin and Kate informing them they'd be going on the second group date. Peyton quickly realized that meant she and Tessa would be going on the two-on-one date, and one of them wouldn't be coming back. But first Andy took the second group of girls on their date, minus Bevin because she was still recovering from her injury. Andy was excited about the date because he was allowed to "get-up early and have some fun" as he met the girls for a day of driving really fast on a closed course. He added he likes a woman "who can take risks," and Erin commented she couldn't "imagine a more fun day" because it would give her an opportunity to prove she's not "prissy.'
Following breakfast, Erin pulled Andy aside and told him that in addition to driving cars really fast, she likes spend time at a shooting range as a "stress reliever." This led Andy to comment Erin "looks like a Barbie doll" but "knows how to do some manly things." Andy also had a moment to "totally connect" with Danielle before it was on to the main racing event.
After being outfitted with racing jumpsuits, each girl was given the opportunity to race around a closed course with Andy in the passenger seat and try to avoid hitting cones. They were timed and received a two-second penalty for each cone they hit. Amanda finished in 53 seconds and Andy thought she was a "natural." Danielle completed the course in 54 seconds, and Andy commented she was "great in the car... giddy and happy." ABC didn't even show Kate's time, and she noticed "Andy was scared" because "he thought I was trying to kill us."
Erin was initially eager to try the challenge -- until she noticed the car was a manual transmission -- which she didn't know how to drive. Despite being a "little intimidated," she received some guidance from Andy and completed the course in 57 seconds. Afterward, Andy decided to take Erin on the one-on-one date.
"It was like watching Barbie and Ken get in their little sports car and drive off," commented Kate when Andy and Erin left on their date. Andy described Erin as "beautiful and attractive," and she told him she was a "little shy." While Andy tried to get her to feel "more comfortable," he soon realized she might not be able to last the whole competition.
"I just have to be myself. I'm glad I'm here... but I'm not going to be competitive with the other women," said Erin.
Before departing on their two-on-one date with Andy, Peyton said it "sucks" she has to "battle it out" with Tessa, but added she "still wants to get the rose." Tessa echoed those comments, saying while she "really likes Peyton," that was not what the date was about. Andy took the girls to San Diego Harbor where they boarded the USS Midway, and Andy lit-up like a kid in a toy store. "I'm so excited I'm in my element," said Andy. "It's very important for me to show the woman my ship." Following a tour of the Midway, Tessa said she felt "comfortable" because seeing Andy on the boat "made him a real person." During dinner, both Tessa and Peyton revealed it was their first time on a date with a military man and also their first with a doctor.
"This is the first date I've been on with two girls too," commented Tessa. Andy called the "lonely rose" he had to award "the bane of my existence tonight." Tessa and Peyton each had a few more minutes to spend alone with Andy before he made his decision, and it was clear both were quite enamored, although Tessa did comment she "doubts" her feelings for him when in the house with the other girls. Andy called Tessa and Peyton "two of the most amazing out of the bunch" and said their time together on the Midway was "the best date by far so far." While he wished he had two roses, he gave the one rose he did have to Tessa.

With Peyton already sent packing, Andy had two more girls to eliminate during the third episode's Rose Ceremony. Bevin felt "really lucky" to have received the rose during boot camp, but was still "insecure" because she hadn't spent any on-on-one time with Andy. During the cocktail party prior to the Rose Ceremony, he met her on the porch and the two talked and kissed. Kate opined that she felt she was going home, however it was Amanda who dug herself into a hole. She told Andy she "gets to know people by telling stories, and when Andy tried to get her to tell one, he noticed she "doesn't come-up with any." While he recognized the "physical connection" between them, he failed at "constantly trying to engage her on a deeper level."
"I'm thinking about the decision I have to make tonight... it's killing me," said Andy prior to handing out the roses. "This is hard. This is harder that I ever thought it would be. This is a serious mission. This is about spending the rest of your life together with someone. It's tough, but it's definitely worth it for me." He then revealed that Amanda and Erin wouldn't be receiving roses.
"I hate that I have to go home and that Andy didn't want to give me a rose. I out myself out there as much as I could at this point and it wasn't enough," said Erin.
"I was shocked... like it doesn't make sense at all," said Amanda. "I just don't understand why I'm leaving so soon. I honestly felt like we could have a chance if we got to know each other better. I just wasn't even afforded that time."
The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman's fourth episode will air Monday, April 23 at 9:30PM ET/PT on ABC.
