The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. admits that while he's amused by the social-media world, he's not caught up in it.

"For me, going through the season, I probably won't post a lot of one-on-one dates," Arie told Us Weekly. "I want to keep it sort of neutral. I think it's probably the safest way to take it."
"Obviously social media wasn't as big of a thing when I was on [Emily Maynard]'s season," said Arie, who finished as Emily's runner-up on Season 8 back in 2012 behind her winner, Jef Holm.
"It's new for me. Yes, I've been on Instagram for, before I was even on Emily's season, but it's not something that I really spend much time on."
Arie noted, however, it's been enjoyable to read everyone's comments about his The Bachelor edition on Twitter.
Arie doesn't even mind the people who make fun of him, as he doesn't take himself too seriously and seems in on the joke.
For instance, he's able to laugh at the fact he told Bekah Martinez on Night 1 of filming that excitement excites him -- and pizza, too.
"It's really fun to see everyone's reaction to it on Twitter and see how they are accepting the show and to see kind of the funny memes and all the things that people, all the comments, good, bad and funny," Arie told Us.
"I like them all. They're great -- because I was that same person on Twitter, you know, poking fun at the last couple of seasons. The show, in the beginning, it's really about fun and being able to make fun of it all."
But Arie's journey to find love is going to become serious pretty fast.
After all, the 36-year-old pro racing driver turned real estate has been insisting since he joined the show in September 2017 that his desire to find a wife and settle down is absolutely sincere and genuine.
"In the end, it's really about finding that person and being in love," Arie said.

"And I feel like this is kind of the moment where it is easy to poke fun of the dates and what's going on in the house. So I'm enjoying the social media side of things!"
