The Bachelor star Chris Soules admits the lines of communication are still open with ex-fiancee Whitney Bischoff.

Soules, 33, and Bischoff, 29, got engaged at the conclusion of The Bachelor's nineteenth season but split in May shortly after his stint on Dancing with the Stars. Although Soules has been working on his farm in Arlington, IA, and Bischoff is off in Chicago, Soules told Us Weekly on Thursday they are "absolutely" pals.
"We're still friends and we catch up regularly. She's doing great," he told Us.
But fans of the couple shouldn't get excited for any type of reunion.
"I'm single and doing my thing," Soules explained. "After dating 30 women and being engaged, I'm sort of taking a step back and trying to process things and get back into normal life. And then somebody will come along, I'm certain."

Since starring on The Bachelor, Soules felt a sense of responsibility to become a "spokesman for agriculture."
"Even though [fame] really wasn't second nature to me, I felt the popularity from the shows and the platform that I was given... was a great opportunity for me to actually speak to the fans that I have," he said.
"We're just beginning harvest, so that's exciting. We put all this work in all summer long and spring, and we finally get to go out and have that reward at the end of the year... It's my favorite time of the year for a lot of reasons, whether it's harvest weather, all those things are awesome in Iowa. I'm happy to be on the farm and not doing any reality television in the fall."
Soules had competed on Dancing with the Stars' twentieth season with pro partner Witney Carson. He's apparently been watching the current season and rooting for Carson and her new celebrity partner Carlos PenaVega.
"I'm rooting for her 100 percent every week," Soules told the magazine, adding that he's aware Carson got engaged to her high school sweetheart Carson Mcallister this week.

"Apparently she posted it on social media, and she knows that I don't really pay that close attention to social media. So she texted me and let me know that she was engaged. I sort of called it. I told one of my friends she'd be engaged before the summer was over. Because I met her fiance a month or so ago and I could tell he was the guy."
Soules explained he knew Mcallister was the one for Carson because he's just "an awesome guy."
"[Witney] is like a sister to me. Somebody that I really got to know very, very well and so I could just see that there was a lot of chemistry there and I know that she was ready," Soules said.
"And she's known him for a long time prior to the engagement, they were dating in high school and they have a lot of history together, so it wasn't like they just started dating either... I figured she'd be getting married this summer or getting engaged soon."
