After Grant dropped a single called "Party Girl" on Spotify earlier this year, many fans accused the daytrader and former pro basketball player of going on The Bachelor to launch a music career.

Grant admitted he definitely didn't expect the criticism he's received during an interview with Us Weekly that was published on Tuesday, February 25.

"Creativity helps get rid of stress and depression, but it is vulnerable," Grant told the magazine.

"I didn't expect the backlash I was going to receive. I'm not trying to be a musician. I just like to have fun."

Grant has also been under fire this season for allegedly gaslighting Rose Sombke by making her feel like she had lied to Carolina Quixano about something he had said when it appeared to be a misunderstanding or miscommunication.

"She owned it, and I think if I made a mistake, I would own it," Grant said during the February 13 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

He added, "I knew I wasn't in the wrong."

During a January appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast earlier this month, co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked Grant flat out if he wanted to pursue a music career.

Grant explained how he uses music to express himself but he's never tried to make a career out of it.

And while being able to dabble in music has been a perk of starring on The Bachelor, Grant insisted he went on the ABC reality dating series with the right intentions.

"I think it's possible to look for love and have interests," Grant noted.

"Maybe the timing wasn't the best. You know, I thought Night 1 was like a party, and it was just my vibe. I like to have fun. That's just me. It's not like I'm there for the wrong reasons."

Grant continued, "I think people throw that around so much, but I think you [can want] both. If you like to paint, you can be on the show and paint."

Grant shared how he thinks making music "is really fun" but that doesn't mean he's going to do that for a living.

"[The single was] just something I had fun with. [Making music my profession] is not a goal or intention of mine at all," Grant clarified.

"I think I'm really happy with what I do for work. I like karaoke and getting into the studio and making a song. I like to push myself and test myself... [but] I'm not pursuing a music career."

Grant added, "I'm not going to be dropping singles, but I think the song fit the night."

Grant joked that while he didn't think his single was terrible, fans "don't have to worry" because he won't be "dropping any more singles."

Grant actually asked The Bachelor fans to "be nice" about his singing talents earlier in the season.

Ever since Grant performed an original song on the piano for Alexe Godin during a one-on-one date and an original rap in front of singer Mario during a group date, people have been criticizing and poking fun at The Bachelor star's musical abilities on social media.

Grant therefore took to TikTok on February 4 and posted a video pleading for mercy.

"When they ask about my singing," Grant wrote over footage of himself lip-syncing over the viral audio, "Like, 'Oh, let's make fun of the girl who took a risk and put herself out there creatively.'"

The clip concluded with Grant playfully covering his face in shame and cowering away from the camera.

"Be nice yall," the daytrader captioned his post.

Comments poured in from fans and there was a mix of love and hate.

"We forgive you Grant," one person quipped.

"I LIKED IT," argued a different TiKTok user, "unpopular opinion I guess."
