Jake Pavelka says he had a good reason for cutting an extra bachelorette during last night's The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love Rose Ceremony.

"My decision had to be solely based on wanting to maximize my time with the five women that I did connect with emotionally," wrote Pavelka in his weekly People blog.
Pavelka called it a "painful decision" to eliminate both Ashleigh Hunt and Jessie Sulidis during the Rose Ceremony after already ousting Ella Nolan and Kathryn during a previous two-on-one date.
However according to Pavelka, he also considered cutting Corrie Adamson.
"I already felt pretty exhausted by the time the Rose Ceremony came around. Corrie was really on the line at this point because she was having such a hard time opening up," he wrote.

"Luckily she surprised me during our one-on-one time. The Corrie that I knew was there all along finally revealed herself and I got very excited about her!"
In addition, Pavelka wrote that the "breakthrough" with Adamson "motivated" his decision to oust both Hunt and Sulidis.
Pavelka said the two-on-one date with Kathryn and Nolan was "one of the toughest nights I experienced during this journey." He attributed the decision to boot Nolan on the fact that she's a single mom.
"There was a definite attraction there with Ella but it broke my heart watching her say goodbye to her son Ethan at SeaWorld. It's a lot of responsibility knowing that I'm keeping a woman away from her son while I try to figure out if we're right for one another," he wrote.
"It became apparent on the two-on-one that even though my attraction to Ella was strong, it wasn't enough to keep her away from her No. 1 man."

While Pavelka said Kathryn is a "beautiful woman," he knew she also wasn't right for him during the two-on-one date.
"I knew that what we were missing was an emotional connection and if I'm not feeling it now, why drag it out any longer," he wrote.
"I hope I made the right choice. I know both of these women are going to find their dream guy."
The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love's next episode -- in which Pavelka woos his five remaining bachelorettes in San Francisco -- will air next Monday at 8PM ET/PT.
