The Bachelor star Sean Lowe picked Catherine Giudici as his final bachelorette and proposed to her during Monday night's finale of the ABC reality dating show's seventeenth season.

Sean chose Catherine, a 26-year-old graphic designer from Seattle, WA, over runner-up Lindsay Yenter, a 24-year-old substitute teacher from Fort Leonard Wood, MO, the morning of the final Rose Ceremony when he ultimately decided he had fallen madly in love and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. 

During a Tuesday conference call with reporters, the happy couple talked to Reality TV World about the end of the season and some controversial topics discussed amongst fans and the media.

Below is a portion of Sean and Catherine's lengthy interview. Check back with Reality TV World on Wednesday for more.

Reality TV World: Sean, during your season, you had kept talking about how you weren't looking for fame or the limelight and just wanted a simple happy life with your wife. But now you're doing Dancing with the Stars in LA, which has left some viewers confused because it seems to contradict what you said before. Could you explain your decision to do Dancing with the Stars? Have you changed your mindset on things?

Sean Lowe: Well, you know, I've always said that I'm not looking for fame. In fact, I don't like the fame aspect of being the Bachelor or being on Dancing with the Stars. I wish I could -- I can't go out in Dallas with my buddies anymore because I'm left taking pictures the whole night because people recognize me and they want to take pictures.

I don't want the fame itself, but when an opportunity like Dancing with the Stars comes along, it's too good to pass up. It's going to be an incredibly unique challenge. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I wouldn't have taken it had Catherine not been okay with it.

She was the first person I called. She is fully supporting me. She's in my corner. She's going to be along this crazy ride with me, and you know, I'm just a person that loves to try new things and step outside my comfort zone. And that's what I'm doing with Dancing with the Stars.

Reality TV World: Catherine, I have to ask you a little bit about how you were feeling when you found out that Sean didn't know whether you or Lindsay was the girl for him until only a couple hours before he proposed to you. He really struggled with the decision and I'm sure that can't be your ideal fantasy scenario, as every girl wants to hear her guy knew she was the one that very first night.

Catherine Giudici: I accepted and I understood what I was getting myself into from the first night and I don't fault him for having feelings for multiple women. That's what the show is about, trying to find your true partner. So knowing that he was conflicted, that doesn't bother me, because at the end result, he was in love with me.

Reality TV World: Sean, a lot of viewers don't understand how you could go from still not knowing which girl was the one for you the day before the final Rose Ceremony to being so in love and certain that you were proposing to one of them the next day. Could you explain your thought process there?

Sean Lowe: Yeah, I think my issue going into that last week was separating my feelings of being in love with Catherine and my feelings of loving Lindsay. I loved the person that she was and that took awhile to kind of separate and straighten out in my head.

And luckily there at the end, I did receive the clarity that I had been looking for, and I just knew, Catherine, I'm in love with her. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her. I didn't share those same feelings with Lindsay although I truly loved the great person that she is.

Reality TV World: Are you two a little disappointed about the show's editing? Viewers didn't even see much of Catherine until the last few episodes, and I'm sure as an engaged couple now, you'd both love to have your relationship well-documented. It seemed like things were just starting up between you two halfway through the season.

Sean Lowe: I don't have an issue with it. Our relationship was a little bit slower to develop, so I know why she didn't get a lot of airtime in the first half of the season. But you know, despite the lack of airtime she had then, I know she's quickly become a fan favorite. I see, especially on Twitter, people are just singing her praises and everybody seems to love her and root for her. So it doesn't bother me one bit.

Catherine Giudici: Yeah, for me either. I mean, I knew what I had with him. It was slower to progress than the other girls but I still had time with him, and that's something that him and I share. So it really doesn't matter if it's documented. I know that we had some moments before I was shown more.

Reality TV World: Catherine, I wanted to get your thoughts on the awkward exchange between Sean and AshLee Frazier at The Bachelor: The Women Tell All in which she claimed he didn't have feelings for you or Lindsay during their overnight date. What was your reaction when you heard that? And Sean, how did you handle that situation after filming that special? Did you warn Catherine about it?

Sean Lowe: Well yeah, we filmed The Women Tell All about a week prior to it airing, so of course when it was all over with, I called Catherine and I told her, "It was nice to see everyone except AshLee was -- she hurled a pretty big accusation at me." But it wasn't like I was warning her or prepping her, I was just giving her a play-by-play of what happened.

And you know, Catherine, she knows better than to buy into that, and I think she kind of understands what I understand -- which is AshLee is a sweet girl. She has good intentions.

I think in the moment, she probably heard something that she wanted to hear. She misconstrued something I said. But of course, it's just ridiculous to say I don't have feelings for Catherine or Lindsay, because in the moment, I did. I had feelings for all three of them.

Reality TV World: What was your reaction, Catherine, when Sean told you about the incident? Were you a little frustrated or angry that AshLee said that or got that impression or did you just wave it off?

Catherine Giudici: Yeah, I mean, I didn't think that it was any sort of truth. I love AshLee and she seems to remember something that he didn't. Even hearing that was kind of ludicrous anyway. It doesn't make sense that he didn't have feelings for us as to why he chose us over her.

Reality TV World: Sean, obviously a little time has elapsed since The Women Tell All taped. Looking back, has anything changed on your part? Do you still have no idea what AshLee was referring to?

Sean Lowe: (Laughs) No, I honestly don't. I've wracked my brain like, "What could I have said?!" I don't remember saying anything, but I'm assuming I said something unintentionally that misled her, and I do apologize for that. But I wouldn't have said anything close to "I don't have feelings for the other two women."
