ABC's plan to air a second The Bachelor season in early 2022 has reportedly been scrapped and replaced with the network's normal The Bachelorette scheduling plans.

Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone reported in late October there will be two The Bachelor seasons next year, with Season 26 of The Bachelor starring Clayton Echard airing from January to March followed by Season 27 of The Bachelor, which he anticipated would begin filming in February and premiere in May 2022.

Season 27 of The Bachelor was going to push back the premiere of The Bachelorette's nineteenth season, but now Carbone reports ABC has had a change in plans.

The spoiler blogger tweeted on Friday, "For whatever reason, this has been shelved. Women who were being cast [for Season 27] were told last week that production on that was being pushed back."

"They were def set to do it as evidenced by the pics. Bachelor season was set to film end of February 2022. However..." he began.

Along with the open-ended tweet, Carbone posted screenshots of alleged messages a girl named Tasha recently received from an ABC casting producer informing Tasha she had been nominated to appear on The Bachelor and taping will begin in mid-to-late February 2022 and go for up to nine weeks.

Tasha was asked to submit an application as well as photos if she was interested in appearing on the show.

Given Clayton's The Bachelor season was already well underway at the time -- and production of Season 26 has since wrapped -- it's clear the casting producer was looking for bachelorettes to compete on Season 27.

Carbone continued in his next tweet, "Earlier this week, started hearing rumblings of men being cast for next Bachelorette to film in its normal time period, mid-March. March 20th to be exact judging by the application currently being sent out."

Carbone went on to post a screenshot of The Bachelorette casting call, which includes a link to the official application and reveals, "The Bachelorette [star] has not been chosen but could be one of the girls from the next season of The Bachelor, which will air in January."

Carbone went on to explain, "So it all adds up to basically you can scratch the back-to-back Bachelor seasons. Not happening anymore. We're back to normal schedule."

"Clayton's season will air Jan-March and the next 'Bachelorette' season will begin filming the week his finale airs, per usual," he concluded.

When Carbone reported in late October that fans would be receiving a double dose of The Bachelor next year, he said he believed The Bachelorette's nineteenth season would probably film in July through August/early September and then air in October through December 2022.

The spoiler blogger had been hearing at the time ABC was thinking of adopting this approach and making it the "new norm" going forward, meaning two The Bachelor seasons and one The Bachelorette edition would air per calendar year.

Carbone, however, wasn't sure how ABC intended to handle its summer series, Bachelor in Paradise.

As for Clayton's upcoming season, ABC officially announced Clayton will star on The Bachelor 26 in a late November promo that aired following an episode of Michelle Young's currently-airing The Bachelorette season.

After failing to find lasting love with Michelle on The Bachelorette 18, Clayton will be handing out the roses when The Bachelor returns on Monday, January 3 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

The morning after ABC's The Bachelor announcement, Clayton appeared on Good Morning America to discuss his experience as the franchise's leading man.

"I did find love," Clayton confirmed last week.

"And I was a little skeptical going into the whole journey, but I'm so pleasantly surprised that things worked out much different than what I had thought."

Clayton was eliminated by Michelle before hometown dates, when The Bachelorette star was selecting her Final 4 bachelors.

Heading into The Bachelorette's next episode on Tuesday, December 14, Michelle only has three men still in the running for her heart -- Brandon Jones, Joe Coleman and Nayte Olukoya -- and she will be shown embarking on her overnight Fantasy Suite dates.
