The Bachelorette alum Trista Rehn has set the record straight on rumors she and husband Ryan Sutter are getting a divorce.

Divorce rumors began swirling about Trista and Ryan back in May, when Ryan had penned a heartfelt yet cryptic message to Trista on Instagram about how he missed her and wished her well. He also noted how "love is not limited by distance or difficulty or time."

Many fans jumped to the conclusion that Trista was struggling with her mental health or that she and Ryan were on the verge of divorce because she was "inaccessible."

However, Trista later revealed that she was away filming Season 3 of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test at that time, which provided more context into why Ryan had been longing for -- and also rooting for -- his wife from afar.

"All is good in the Sutter household. We are very happy," Trista confirmed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Trista's journey on Special Forces will begin when the show premieres its third season with a two-hour episode on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

When reflecting on those breakup rumors, Trista shared, "It's funny because Ryan and I are not daily Instagram posters -- him especially, it's not his thing. And he posted, and I re-read it... and I was like, 'If you read it in context, it totally makes sense.'"

Trista recalled of Ryan's sweet Instagram post from earlier this year, "It was like, 'I miss you so much. I wish I could talk to you. You are so strong,' you know, all of these things that he's telling me in Instagram as I'm filming the show."

The Season 1 The Bachelorette star confirmed that she "didn't see" Ryan's post until she returned home from filming Special Forces.

"I had no idea," Trista insisted to ET.

"And everyone thought, 'Oh my god, is she dead?! Are they getting a divorce? Are they in a trial separation? Is she having a nervous breakdown?'"

Trista joked about how it was a "crazy" time but she actually found the gossip "a bit humbling or flattering" because it was a sign that people "actually still care" about her relationship with Ryan.

"So it was very sweet that people were caring, but it was crazy," Trista noted.

Trista previously revealed on "The Ben & Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast" last month that she had initially said "hell no" to competing on Special Forces but Ryan talked her into it, according to Us Weekly.

Although Trista participating in the series would naturally result in Ryan feeling lonely for a while, the firefighter was apparently the one who changed Trista's mind.

"Ryan was like, 'Why wouldn't you? This would be an incredible experience for you?'" Trista had shared in November.

"And I'm thinking to myself, 'Oh, oh god. Are you kidding? Really? You think this would be a good thing?' And then he did, like, flip my mind."

Trista explained to ET how she ultimately said "yes" to appearing on Special Forces because her kids -- son Maxwell, 17, and daughter Blakesley, 15 -- are "going to be leaving" the nest in the near future.

"I am not [ready to be an empty-nester]," Trista admitted.

"And that has been weighing on my mind lately, a lot, because we're literally looking at colleges and what do you want to do with your life in the future? Who do you want to be?... All of these major questions."

Trista said she wanted to challenge herself since she tended to deal with only small problems at home as a mother.

"I have been really feeling like I need to remember who I am, at my core, so that I can figure out who I am without my kids, because I am a stay-at-home mom and they are my world," Trista explained.

"Yes, I will still have my husband -- I hope," she quipped, adding how she anticipates having "a great time" with Ryan alone in their house once her kids go off to college.

"But it's just sad to me, to think that my kids are going to be gone. So I really wanted to do this, not to heal a hurt, but to remind myself of who I am and how strong I am and how brave I can be."

This isn't the first time Trista has denied that she and Ryan are on the outs.

In November, the former The Bachelorette star wrote on Instagram how Special Forces was the reason behind her temporary separation from Ryan that had fans freaking out.

"Was it a divorce/nervous breakdown/mid-life crisis/death/trial separation back in May?! Not unless that's what you call Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, season 3," Trista wrote at the time.

"Thankfully, none of those things are associated with my experience in filming the show."

The Season 1 The Bachelorette star added, "As you get a glimpse of in the trailer, the angel on my shoulder did have to face some pretty big battles. You'll have to [watch] in January to see the battles play out, but for now, just so grateful to be a part of this epic adventure."

Fellow The Bachelorette alum Ali Fedotowsky and The Hills alum Brody Jenner are also among the 16 celebrities who will be shown competing on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test next year.

Trista found fame when she competed on Alex Michel's season of The Bachelor in 2002.

But Ryan won Trista's heart on The Bachelorette's first season, and the pair got engaged during the finale that aired in February 2003. Trista and Ryan got married in December 2003 for a televised special.
