"Obviously there was a relationship that didn't work out. I'm a super sensitive guy, so maybe that has something to do with it."
Tayshia, who starred on the second half of The Bachelorette's sixteenth season after Clare Crawley, got engaged to Zac during her Final Rose Ceremony in 2020. But about one year after their engagement aired on ABC, the pair announced their breakup in November 2021.
While the relationship didn't turn out to be what Zac had hoped, he apparently looks back on his time with Tayshia, 33, fondly.
The addiction specialist and New Yorker recalled of proposing marriage to The Bachelorette alum, "In the moment, it felt real, it felt right -- it was all those things. And I wouldn't change anything."
Zac insisted, "I don't live in regret," and he continued, "It's a very special moment in time and in my life regardless of what happened."
Zac had some beautiful words for Tayshia when he popped the question, and he confirmed that he "meant" his speech and "felt it at the time."
Zac and Tayshia -- who will be one of the reality TV stars competing on The GOAT when it comes to Amazon Freevee -- have never revealed details about their split and why their relationship ended.
Us Weekly reported in late 2021 that the former couple "couldn't fully commit to each other" due to their busy schedules and they "eventually realized it wasn't going to work and their relationship ran its course."
Tayshia declined to reveal specifics except for saying that the "very tough" breakup left her heartbroken, and Zac has also chosen to remain tight-lipped.

Zac just noted on Ben and Ashley's podcast, "Two good people don't always make a good relationship, and that's my experience there."
But Zac admitted he doesn't give himself "enough credit" for giving reality television a shot.
"It took a lot of balls to show up there and lay it all out on the line," he said.
"The show changed my life, I think, in a lot of ways... It's allowed me to help a lot of people and have some pretty cool experiences. You take the good with the bad in any situation."
Zac also revealed "the biggest thing" he's "proud" of from his time on The Bachelorette.
"Watching it back with my friends, [they were] saying, 'That's you. That is you. That is Clark. That is you on TV,'" Zac explained.
"And that's the biggest compliment anyone could give me. Because I'm sure people show up there and, you know, they try to act a certain way and end up shooting themselves in the foot and it doesn't go well."
He added, "When I hear people say they get a 'bad edit' or whatever, that's foreign to me, because -- maybe I got a good edit, I don't know -- but what I say is, 'No one can make me say or do anything.' And so that was just who I was, and that's what I saw. That's just me."

"I think I'm good, respectfully," Tayshia told Entertainment Tonight at the time. "Respectfully, I think I'm good. I think I'm good."
But Tayshia planned to keep an open mind about potentially dating another reality TV star, in general.
"Never say never," Tayshia told Us last year. "We'll see what happens! We'll just leave it there. Never say never."

Tayshia acknowledged it's very difficult to navigate a relationship with someone in the public eye and she'd want "to protect" her next relationship.
"I kind of, maybe, [want to] keep it quiet and under wraps for a minute and then maybe let the people in on the news after a little while," Tayshia shared of how she'd handle having a new man in her life.
"People are private investigators. I don't even know how they figure out half the things they do now."
Tayshia said she understands her love life "is exciting" to fans, who have followed her ever since she competed on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor in early 2019, but she'd like "to have a normal relationship, to some extent" in the future.
Tayshia -- who also co-hosted two The Bachelorette seasons -- also wrote on Instagram back in May 2022 how she'd still like to get married and start a family "more than anything."
"I want to build an empire, I want to go after my dreams and I want my partner to be supportive of that as they follow their own dreams as well. I want a relationship where we cheer each other on. None of that has changed," Tayshia wrote to a troll who had slammed her priorities in life.
The previously-divorced The Bachelorette alum said in 2022 that she'd eventually like to settle down with a man who is "strong, supportive, kind, ambitious, and empathetic."
Tayshia -- who married and divorced her college sweetheart, Josh Bourelle, before going on The Bachelor in 2018 -- is currently dating former Summer House star Luke Gulbranson.

"They're mad about each other and serious about their future," a source told Us in May 2023.
That same month, the Season 16 The Bachelorette star and her man were photographed shopping for engagement rings at Tiffany & Co. in New York City.
An eyewitness said they were "kissing" and looked "very lovey dovey" at the time.
