The Bachelorette bachelor Cody Sattler, a 28-year-old personal trainer from Chicago, IL, was eliminated by Andi Dorfman in the middle of his first one-on-one date during the most recent episode of her The Bachelorette season.

Cody referred to himself as the "pet dog" in the house because he was being dragged around from destination to destination without ever getting a one-on-one date with Andi until the day of his elimination. Cody, whom Andi noted had the most incredible eyes, was known for always having a smile on his face and being very grateful for his opportunity to compete on the show.
Andi was devastated upon dumping Cody, as the "great, genuine" suitor was pouring his heart out to her just as she was trying to bid him farewell. Andi believed they had only developed a friendship and lacked romantic chemistry. However, Cody will be appearing on the new The Bachelor-spinoff Bachelor in Paradise, which premieres August 4 on ABC.
During a Thursday conference call with reporters, Cody talked about his The Bachelorette experience and relationship with Andi. Below is a portion of his interview. Click here to read what he told Reality TV World. Check back with us soon for more.
What's your take on Josh Murray?

Cody Sattler: Josh is a great guy. I roomed with Josh throughout the show and he seemed like a well-rounded, good guy.
Is Nick Viall really as much of a douchebag as he appears to be on the show?
Cody Sattler: Ah, you know, Nick -- I think Nick is his own person. He was a nice guy but I think he's just his own, own person.
I want to get your real thoughts on Nick, because we saw you guys share some choice words and there's obviously tension. Do you think he's there for the right reasons?
Cody Sattler: You know, Nick, I was really cool with everybody in the house. And I think Nick just -- he was the oldest one in the house. I think maybe he thought he had a little bit of a different position than everybody.

But, you know, Nick, I think just kind of had -- from my perception of him -- I think he just kind of had a bad attitude whether it was, "Hey, I don't want to see you guys going on dates," or, "I'm not all about a group date," or what not.
Just having that kind of negative attitude is something that I don't find too appealing and I don't associate with people like that. So, that's just kind of, yeah, my take on the situation.
Of the guys who are left, who do you think is right for Andi? And who do you think she'll pick and why?
Cody Sattler: Ah! I honestly don't have any idea who Andi's going to pick. I think all the guys, you know, when I left, I said, "Any of these guys, really, are going to be great guys for you." But I don't know really how she or who she's really leaning towards. But I think whoever she ends up with out of those remaining six or seven guys, I think any of them will be lucky, and I think she'll be happy.
What do you feel your connection with Andi was like before you went on your one-on-one date? How were you feeling about her?

Cody Sattler: My connection with Andi before going on that one-on-one date, I think Andi and I enjoyed each other's company. I think she thought I was a nice guy, fun. Like I said, she took me on all of the group dates and any time we had one-on-one time together, it was pretty casual talk.
We never got too deep with each other, but I could definitely tell that she liked me and she knew I was interested in her. It's just, I don't think we ever got any depth with each other to really, truly, get to know who I was deep down and vice versa with her.
So, it was just more that "friend zone" the entire time I felt like, and you know, I think she did like me. But I just didn't get the opportunity to truly get to know her and she didn't truly get to know me.
Why do you think Andi waited so long to take you on a one-on-one? You didn't get that solo date until Week 6 and Nick had already gotten a second one-on-one date.
Cody Sattler: I think she was just kind of getting a feel for me as far as, "Is Cody someone I could see myself with? And I'm going to kind of, maybe, play it out and let him ride a few weeks." And who knows! Maybe she had that special date planned for me. She doesn't just take everybody on certain dates. There's dates for certain guys kind of.

And, you know, going off of our date, we went to Verona and we wrote those letters. She knows I like helping people and, I don't know, maybe she had that special date planned for me. But I think she just kind of wanted to get a feel for me and see if I was somebody she could see herself with. So [I think] she gave it a few weeks before she really, you know, gave me a chance to get to know her.
Were you surprised about the elimination of any of the guys who went before you? Especially considering the fact you're one-on-one date came so late in the game?
Cody Sattler: Um, any of the guys I was surprised got eliminated before me? I was kind of shocked when Carl, the firefighter, went home. He went home Week 2. He seemed like a really nice guy. So when she eliminated him, I was pretty shocked on that.
Other than that, not really. I think it kind of all made sense to me -- just going off of how things played out and I saw her interact with the guys. So, yeah, no big surprises.
How did you feel about the big reveal of Chris Soules being Andi's "secret admirer?" I assume you just saw it on the episode and didn't know when you were there.
Cody Sattler: Yeah, Chris being the secret admirer, (laughs) I couldn't see that from Chris just kind of going off of what I know about the guy. But yeah, it was definitely surprising to me.
Could you elaborate on what you meant by referring to yourself as the "pet dog" in the house? What were you thinking at that point?
Cody Sattler: Yeah, you know, I just felt like not necessarily the dog of the group, but I just felt like I was kind of just -- yeah, in a way kind of just getting dragged on. I think Andi liked me and probably thought I was a cute guy or what not, but she knew she probably wasn't going to be with me as far as that chemistry wasn't there.
But I genuinely think she enjoyed my company and she knew I was very appreciative of the opportunity that was given to me. I think she enjoyed having me around, you know? So I think I was just kind of in that position like, "Dang. Maybe she's just keeping me around because she knows I'm a nice guy and we're having fun." (Laughs) But yeah, I did kind of feel like that at one point.
Andi has gone on a lot of sporty dates, etc. Were you surprised she took you on such a romantic date? Because you were basically pouring your heart out to her only for her to dump you based on things she had already realized were missing between you.
Cody Sattler: Yeah. I was. That date was pretty romantic, and you know, writing those letters and doing all that stuff before, it kind of just -- it was a very emotional date. But I'm a pretty emotional guy and I'm willing to kind of express my feelings.

But yeah, it was definitely a romantic and emotional day, and I think she just kind of really wanted to see if there was something between us in putting me in that setting and allowing it. Yeah, it was definitely an emotional, emotional day.
What are your thoughts on Andi saying you have the best eyes in the house? (Laughs)
Cody Sattler: (Laughs) I love it! (Laughs)
