The Bachelorette's Devin Strader has admitted he and Jenn Tran didn't have a connection right away.

"I didn't think there was a connection right away with Jenn, especially since I started talking about feet right away," Devin admitted during a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

On Night 1 of The Bachelorette's 21st season, Devin told Jenn that he loves a woman will well manicured fingernails and painted toes.

"Thankfully she's a good sport and kind of rolled with the punches a little bit," Devin recalled with a laugh, adding, "I was nervous. There were cameras everywhere and all of these guys."

Devin explained how he had "never seen the show before" and so he didn't know how exactly to approach Jenn or what to say. At the beginning of The Bachelorette, he was "just there for the experience."

"I had relatively little knowledge of what I'm even supposed to be doing there, obviously other than getting to know this person," Devin acknowledged.

He continued, "I didn't know right away if she was into me. I didn't know Night 1 if I was going to be there in the next week."

Devin told the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt that one of his employees -- who also happens to be the wife of his best friend -- had nominated Devin to be on The Bachelorette.

But going into filming, Devin said he had no idea Jenn was going to be The Bachelorette star. He apparently didn't know of "any of the contestants" who had a shot at being the leading lady either.

"I'm seeing Jenn for the first time and I think she looks stunning. I mean, she looks magnificent," Devin said.

"That was the first time I had ever seen Jenn -- ever heard her speak or ever heard her say a word. So, I feel like for me, it wasn't about making a shopping-cart list of who I think it could be and then going on and treating the situation like it was."

Devin said of his goal for going on the show, "I was [there] just to meet a genuine person that could possibly like me for who I am, and that was all that had crossed my mind at that point."

Devin said it was actually "nice" to go into the show "kind of blind" because he didn't have high expectations.

Devin, however, started to develop a genuine crush on Jenn when he had whisked her away for gelato during a group date, which turned out to be a very controversial move at the time.

Devin said he appreciated how "willing" Jenn was "to leave the group and have a conversation" with him right then and there.

"And because of how my personality is, it kind of was telling about who I was," Devin said.

"And the fact that [Jenn] enjoyed that moment with me and told me that she enjoyed how I am and who I am, that was my first [thought of], 'Okay, this girl is kind of cool! She is down to skip class and get ice cream with me. That's an amazing feeling.'"

Devin therefore said his connection with Jenn "started there" and definitely "grew over time."

The Bachelorette just aired its hometown-dates episode, which featured Jenn's Final 4 bachelors taking her home for family meet and greets.

After Jenn met Devin's friends and loved ones, he said, "I love you," to The Bachelorette star.

Devin therefore revealed on "Bachelor Happy Hour" that he was "very surprised" by how The Bachelorette process worked for him.

"I was very surprised [by how fast I fell in love]," Devin said. "I was very, very surprised. I didn't come into the show fully knowledgeable of how it worked."

Devin commended The Bachelorette for putting him in situations that made him "really reflect" on what he wants out of life.

"All of the filler conversations go away, right? You really have to cut down to the meat and potatoes of who you are and your essence, and it really helped me open those walls for [Jenn] to see who I was, and it was great," Devin explained.

Devin therefore pointed out how it's "100 percent possible to" find true love on The Bachelor franchise, in his opinion.

Derek, however, will have to face off against Jonathon Johnson and Marcus Shoberg for Jenn's final rose.

Jenn seemed to hint at the identity of her The Bachelorette winner during her own appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.
