The Bachelorette eliminee Ryan Fox's ex-girlfriend, Brittany Creel, has revealed she was "shocked" to see Ryan on the show but not surprised at all by his excessive lists and notes.

Pages upon pages of Bachelorette "strategy" notes also explained "how to get more screentime" and "who to emulate from the show," such as The Bachelorette co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe's fiance Jason Tartick.
Brittany, who began dating Ryan in February 2020 before their June split, said she was "shocked" to see Ryan on The Bachelorette but his onscreen behavior was "spot-on," according to Us Weekly.
Many The Bachelorette viewers were skeptical of the validity of Ryan's notes and wondered if producers had planted the lists in his room or had something to do with the incident, but Brittany insisted her ex-boyfriend "plans everything to the T" in the real world.
"I do believe all the docs were real," Brittany said.
"He's a very calculated person... He documents everything. He has a Google Doc for just about everything you can think of that he adds to on a daily basis."
Brittany claimed Ryan even created a document "about himself."
"He puts feedback on [it] from previous relationships," she shared with the magazine, "as well as a dream-girl doc for all the qualities his future spouse needs to have."
Ryan explained in The Bachelorette's Season 18 premiere that he wants a woman who is "genuine, smart, athletic and down to earth." He also said his future wife will want to make a difference in the world.

Brittany said the fact Ryan "defended himself" over the notes was typical on his part, although she suggested he's a pretty quiet guy in general.

Brittany said she tuned into Tuesday night's debut episode of The Bachelorette and could understand why Michelle chose to let Ryan go on Night 1.
"I think Michelle eliminated him because she only wanted people who are genuine and there for the right reasons," Brittany told Us.
"And based off of what she found she did not feel that Ryan fit that mold."
Kaitlyn and her The Bachelorette co-host warned Michelle about Ryan's antics during the season's first cocktail party, which resulted in Michelle searching through Ryan's belongings in his hotel room to see for herself and find the truth.
When Michelle searched through Ryan's papers, he claimed that the material was given to him by a "friend's wife" because he's "very new to The Bachelor" and had never seen "more than two hours" of The Bachelorette.
But Ryan appears to have been more familiar with the franchise than he let on.

A February 2020 posting still available on Ryan's Instagram account shows him posing in a group photo with "Bachelor Live On Stage" co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Ben Higgins and the ten local bachelorettes who competed in the San Jose event.
"Well this happened last night... Thank you to the 10 beautiful ladies who put themselves out there on stage last night. You all did amazing!!!," Ryan captioned the February 19, 2020 posting.
"Bachelorlive staff, hosts, and dancers thank you for coaching me and calming my nerves before the show and throughout. I was a wreck and needed it."

At the time, the "Bachelor Live On Stage" tour had launched less than a week earlier in Arizona and was scheduled to visit 66 cities. However, the nationwide tour went on hiatus within weeks due to the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic.
"He didn't talk about wanting to [be on the show], necessarily," Brittany explained to Us Weekly.
"He did the 'Bachelor Live On Stage' before we met and he did talk about how he passed up offers to be on The Bachelorette because of our relationship. We watched maybe an episode or two together, but it wasn't frequent."
Ryan's note-taking was definitely a letdown for Michelle, because she said she felt a connection with Ryan right off the bat, revealing after their first sit-down conversation, "That was one of the sparks that kind of took off a little bit."
Michelle told Ryan that she didn't want to start a relationship "on red flags," and so she decided to eliminate him before the Rose Ceremony.
Ryan asked twice for another chance and pleaded for an opportunity to stay, but Michelle asked the bachelor to respect her decision and essentially leave quietly.
Following the episode, Ryan made light of his documents in an video.
"Some morning light reading #bachelorette #bachelornation #notesboy," he joked.
