Shawn ended up proposing marriage to Kaitlyn, which she was thrilled to accept. The newly-engaged pair is now embracing their relationship in public and dealing with the aftermath of a very controversial season.
During a Tuesday conference call, Kaitlyn and Shawn talked to reporters about their experience on the show, their love and what's next. Below is a portion of their interview. Check back with Reality TV World soon for more.
Shawn, the night before the proposal, you guys were together. And Kaitlyn started talking to you about how you'll feel watching the season back. At that point, I felt like you were all but confirmed it was you. How confident did you feel? And did you feel that way the night before you proposed to Kaitlyn?
Shawn Booth: Yeah, I felt that way, you know, the entire season. And definitely felt the way that night. I'm very confident and woke up feeling the comments I had felt the entire season was just so excited to be able to get to the house to see her and get down on one knee.

Have you guys started discussing wedding plans or dates or anything like that?
Shawn Booth: Right now, we're just really enjoying the engagement. We've been looking forward to this day for a long time. And we just want to take some time and hang out, relax with our friends and our family. And we are kind of laid back people, just going with the flow.
So we're going to focus on figuring out where to live, you know, visit Nashville, go to Vancouver, and kind of take care of that stuff the next month or two, and then start making some plans.
All couples have their tiffs. Have you guys had any arguments? And if so, what were they about?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: We argued the other day about who was going to take out the garbage.

Shawn Booth: Yeah, I was little upset.
Kaitlyn Bristowe: It was a big one. (Laughs)
Shawn Booth: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, a couple tiffs here and there, but nothing too crazy. And we've kind of helped each other throughout this entire process and have been a support system for one another, which has been great. And we're definitely stronger, because of all the [ups and downs].
If you had to live together, who leaves the toothpaste out?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: I think we're both pretty, like, tidy people.

You mentioned that you want to go to Vancouver. What do you plan to do there? And also, would you get married there?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: I honestly think Shawn is going to fall in love with Vancouver. I love it there. And what am I going to do there? I don't know.
The Grouse Grind trail maybe?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: Yeah, actually, yes. I just did that the other day and was telling him all about it, because obviously, he's a very fit human being. So yeah, I'm going to take him to the Grouse Grind.
Probably do a lot of things, like go paddleboarding, lots of stuff outside, check out lots of cool restaurants, and just hang out with friends. We actually have a fishing trip coming up. And we got a box suite at one of the soccer games. So we've got a lot going on.

And would you get married there?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: In Vancouver? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I would get married there.
Shawn Booth: Either there or Vegas with Elvis, we're still trying to figure that out.
Kaitlyn Bristowe: Yeah. One or the other.
What does life look like for the two of you now? And are you leaning towards one or the other as far as where to live, Nashville or Canada?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: I think we love the idea of having a summer home in British Colombia or Vancouver and living in Nashville. I think that sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
Shawn Booth: Yeah, I think that might be the best.
A lot of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette couples don't make it. How are you guys going to ensure that you stay together?
Kaitlyn Bristowe: I think we already wouldn't have made it by now. I think we're very confident in our relationship. And I mean, we don't see it not working.
Shawn Booth: Right, yeah. We're not, you know, focused on those relationships or anything like that.
Kaitlyn Bristowe: We don't care about the track record.

Shawn Booth: Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristowe: We're just focusing on our relationship.
Shawn Booth: Exactly. And we're very confident with what we have.
