The Bachelorette star Becca Kufrin picked Garrett Yrigoyen at the end of her journey to find love and he then proposed marriage, during Monday night's Season 14 finale on ABC.

At the Final Rose Ceremony, Garrett, a 29-year-old medical sales representative from Reno, NV, told his love that their experiences together on the show made him realize he was madly in love with her and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

"I want to wake up next to you and have you in my arms every single day for the rest of my life. I love you so much, not just now, but forever. You are my world," Garrett said.

"Before you go on, I have something I need to say," Becca interjected.

"Starting out this journey, I didn't know what to expect, and I didn't know if any one of the guys would really be the one for me... Right away, I felt something so strong... I've been waiting to say [I love you] to the right person, and I've been holding back, because I wanted to be 1,000 percent certain. And Garrett Vincent Yrigoyen, I love you. I love you so much. I do!"

Garrett smiled ear to ear, and then he proposed marriage to Becca, to which she replied, "Yes, yes, yes!"

The episode ended with Becca and Garrett hugging, kissing and soaking in the moment of promising each other forever.

But with Garrett's happiness came heartbreak for Becca's runner-up, Blake Horstmann, a 28-year-old sales representative from Bailey, CO.

The Bachelorette broadcast began with Becca summing up her relationships with Garrett and Blake. Becca surprisingly explained she had the most consistent and strong relationship with Blake throughout the process.

"Our hearts recognize one another, and just because of that, I always thought he'd be the one at the end of this," Becca said of Blake.

But her connection with Garrett had been growing and growing more each and every day. Becca was in love with both men but planned to only say those three words to one of them.

It then became time for Becca's Final 2 suitors to meet her family, including her mother Jill, and Garrett was up first. She hoped her family would give her advice on whom to choose or at least offer some insight.

Becca told her loved ones she never stopped laughing with Garrett but he had been married before for only two months. However, she could totally be herself around him.

During a chat with Becca's Uncle Chuck, Garrett opened up about how a blowout fight between his ex-wife and his family is what ended their marriage in such a short period of time. Since family means everything to Garrett, he couldn't live with the fact there was a divide between his wife and his relatives.

Garrett then gushed about how Becca is beautiful inside and out. When speaking about how his mother had breast cancer, Garrett got emotional and couldn't control his emotions anymore when talking about his romance with Becca.

Garrett then spoke to Becca's sister Emily, who informed the suitor Becca is a loving and selfless person. Garrett agreed there are so many reasons to love Becca, and when he loves someone as much as he loved Becca, he'd go to the ends of the earth for her.

Garrett explained how he wants to take care of Becca and guard her heart and always choose her and make her feel safe.

Emily thought Garrett was "fabulous" and incredible, and she said it felt as though she had known him for years.

Becca admitted it was heartwarming to hear Garrett cried to her sister and didn't hold back, especially since he was always so happy-go-lucky all the time. And when Emily revealed to Becca that Garrett had called her his "person," Becca cried tears of joy.

The next day, Blake prepared to meet Becca's family, and she knew they would love him also considering he's such a kind, open, honest and vulnerable guy.

The fact her family would love both men, however, just made Becca's decision more difficult.

Meanwhile, Blake was terrified about the idea of losing Becca to another man. Blake told Emily that he was "crazy about" Becca, adding that she's "the strongest woman" he's ever met -- and he tends to gravitate toward strong, independent women in relationships. Blake also noted they worked well together as a team.

"I can't imagine my life without her. I really can't. I've never been more sure of anything," Blake told Emily.

Emily came to the conclusion Becca and Blake are so similar and they had amazing chemistry and he could be the one for her.

Emily then shared with Becca how she loved Garrett's silly personality and the fact he'd be a great father but noticed Blake would challenge her more and be an equal teammate in life.

"For the longest time, I thought it would be Blake, that he'd be the one sitting at the end of this," Becca explained to her sister.

"But then Garrett kept coming up and up and up, and I kept getting to know more of him and loving more of him. And I know with Garrett, that relationship would be more of a risk, making sure we push each other at times."

Becca almost felt guilty about her feelings for Garrett given Blake had been the frontrunner for so long and the winner in her mind.

Blake got in his head during the hometown date, however, when Becca's mom insisted he'd be just fine in the end if Becca chose Garrett instead. Blake also became obsessed with the thought Garrett had a better day with the family, mainly because they kept asking him questions about Garrett.

Blake later sensed something was off with Becca, probably because she was excited about a fresh, new romance with Garrett. After all, his connection with Becca blossomed right away when they enjoyed the first one-on-one date of the season together.

The last time Blake felt something was "off" with his ex-girlfriend, he was dumped 48 hours later. So Blake was definitely concerned.

"She's going to pick Garrett," Blake vented to the cameras.

Once the family met both guys, they sat down with Becca to talk about how she had found "two keepers" and none of them wanted to be in her shoes at the Final Rose Ceremony.

Jill said Blake felt like he was Becca's equal, while Emily agreed they were very similar and complemented each other well. Uncle Chuck pointed out Becca needs a man who is passionate about the same issues and would go "stride for stride" with her. However, Uncle Chuck could tell Garrett has "a beautiful soul."

Becca seemed torn and crushed over the idea of hurting either Blake or Garrett, but she told her mother her final decision would come down to the following question: "Whom could I not picture my life without?"

Becca then enjoyed a final one-on-one date with each guy in the Maldives, and Garrett was up first.

The pair went sailing, and Becca gushed about how Garrett was always so "full of life," like "a ball of positive energy." She actually liked the fact their relationship had evolved slowly.

Becca and Garrett saw a school of dolphins and swam in the ocean during the sail, and Garrett was incredibly "caught up in her." She was the woman of his dreams, and in turn, Becca could not stop smiling and laughing.

"I can't wait to get down on one knee and propose to her and have her in my life every single day," Garrett told the cameras. "She picks me up when I'm down, and I do the same for her... I can see us living an awesome life together."

That night, Becca told Garrett that he reminded her of her father from the moment she met him, with the fly-fishing and their similar passions, and being with him "feels like a little bit of home." Garrett admitted he would be "crushed" to lose her, but he just wanted her to be happy.

"My love for her is so deep and so true that I pinch myself every day to make sure it's real," Garrett told the cameras.

"I'd let her turn my heart out just to make sure she's happy... She's an amazing person and deserves the best. I don't know if a guy has ever made Becca realize her worth, but I hope I'm that guy."

The next day, Becca embarked on her last one-on-one date with Blake. Becca was feeling so torn and concerned, and she acknowledged her clarity might just come in the form of a feeling in her heart.

For their date, Becca and Blake rode bicycles to the beach and then went paddleboarding in the ocean. Blake loved her more than he thought he was capable of loving.

Blake knew that he could get through anything with Becca because of their excellent communication, and he believed no one could make Becca smile and laugh the way he could. He was solid, open and vulnerable with Becca, and because of that, the Bachelorette couldn't imagine saying goodbye to him.

During the night portion of their date, Blake's goal was to make Becca realize he's "the one" for her. He made her a time capsule filled with photos and momentos of their time together on The Bachelorette, and the gift lit up Becca's face and heart.

"He always surprises me. He's so good at everything and he makes me laugh, we have great conversation, he stimulates me, he's romantic," Becca gushed in a confessional.

"He's literally everything I could want in a partner. I know Blake would make the best father, husband, partner, partner in crime, and 50/50 person alongside me throughout life."

Becca could envision professing her love to Blake at the end of this and accepting a marriage proposal from him. Becca thought she had the moment of clarity she needed and was looking for that night. And in their final moment together, Becca smiled at Blake, and he felt like everything was going to be alright.

Later on, Garrett and Blake met with Neil Lane to each pick out a diamond engagement ring for Becca. Garrett had no doubts or concerns -- he was just excited and feeling "positive as hell." And Blake was nervous and anxious, but he also had a sense of calm about him.

Meanwhile, Becca's mind was made up.

"I feel like I could be happy with either guy, and both of them would be a right choice for me, but I'm going with the one who I can't see myself without. This love just feels like it fits my soul and fits my heart. I'm so happy that I pushed through to find what I've always wanted," Becca said in a confessional.

"I not only feel like I found my partner in this, but I also found myself."

Blake confessed he loved Becca and to have that taken away would "break" him. Garrett on the other hand, said he'd be happy as long as Becca is happy.

Becca anticipated an incredibly hard breakup because the man was going to be completely blindsided. She felt "terrible," like "such a monster."

Blake headed into the Final Rose Ceremony first, and he was feeling "lucky." He approached Becca on a beautiful platform by the beach, and he couldn't wait to make Becca his fiancee.

"Becca, you constantly inspire me to be a better man, and I love the man I am around you. You're the most sincere, honest, compassionate, goofy, funny, intelligent, truly genuinely beautiful person inside and out that I've ever met. I've been waiting for this day and this moment for quite some time... I want to make you smile for the rest of my life," Blake told the Bachelorette.

"When all of this is gone, it's just going to be me and you, babe. And that's the only way I want it. You are my person, so Becca, will you let me spend the rest of my life making you smile?"

Becca told Blake to wait and give her a moment, and the panic was visible in his eyes.

"You made me hopeful again. You made me excited in this journey and gave me something to look forward to. You have been the most solid, constant relationship, and the guy I could turn to at any time... You've made me know that I can fall in love again. But through all of that too, because we were so constant, I think I was overlooking other relationships," Becca confessed to Blake.

"Because we were so solid, I wasn't seeing everything. There's just one piece with somebody else I'm not ready to say goodbye to yet. Quite honestly, I pictured this moment with you standing here the entire time, for so long. I think we could be right and we could be partners but I think there's a better fit for us out there."

Blake appeared shocked and taken aback, and he said, "I didn't expect this. I don't know what to say. I think you're making a mistake. I don't think anybody can make you as happy as I can. I guess this is goodbye."

As Becca walked Blake out, he said he was "so wrong" and couldn't believe what was happening.

Becca never wanted Blake to doubt himself. Becca insisted she was "so sure" about him for the longest time and there wasn't a specific moment when her mind changed. Becca said it came down to Garrett being a better fit for her,

"I love you," Blake said, as he wiped tears from his eyes. "Goodbye."

Becca couldn't breathe after Blake walked away from her, and Blake bawled his eyes out into a towel. He cried about having to endure this pain alone after filming and vented, "I knew it... I thought she loved me back. It just felt like we were right for each other."

On the subsequent After the Final Rose special, Blake admitted he feared in the last several weeks of the process it was a red flag for Becca that there were no red flags between them.

Blake said he never even considered during that final day Becca would say no to his marriage proposal, but he'll always have love for Becca and he truly hopes she finds lifelong happiness.

Blake also said there are "no hard feelings" and he could never be angry at her for following her heart. Blake knew the love was as real for her as it was for him.

When Becca joined Blake onstage with Chris Harrison, Blake asked if there was a specific moment that triggered her decision or confirmed her choice, but Becca said there was not. Becca insisted she just thought Garrett would be a better fit for her life in the long run.

Becca told Blake she had thought to herself while filming, "How would we handle certain situations if something happened? When you got more in your head at times about things, it made me worry at times of how you'd handle certain things down the road if someone were to get sick or something would happen to a child. And that's just when I started to question the longevity of it."

Becca apologized to Blake for how everything happened because the last thing she wanted was to hurt him.

"If people think this season is going to keep me down, they didn't watch the season too closely, because I've learned and I've grown from a lot in my life, and this will be no different... I'm not going to be scared now of falling in love again. My person is still out there, and I'm never going to apologize for how hard I love," Blake told the cameras.

Chris then welcomed Becca and Garrett on the stage together, and Becca was nearly bouncing because she was "so happy" to announce her engagement and finally share her relationship with the world.

"It's crazy. We have both been through hard relationships in the past, and to find each other in this crazy, unconventional journey, it still blows my mind... I'm just ready to start life!" Becca yelled.

Garrett admitted he wasn't certain on the final day of taping that he was going to be the guy for Becca, but he knew everything would work out as it should. Becca also revealed she knew Garrett was the man for her when she got emotional at the airport after leaving his hometown date.

Becca said she and Garrett are so happy and so in love, although there were some hard times in the past couple of months, such as her fiance's social-media scandal in which he liked offensive posts on Instagram.

Becca didn't agree with Garrett's actions, nor does she defend his behavior, but they had to talk things out and she's glad he's going to continue educating himself and growing as a person. Garrett feared he might lose Becca over the incident, but she insisted the thought of breaking up "never crossed" her mind.

In addition, Becca announced she and Garrett will be moving in together but they have no wedding plans yet. The couple plans to settle down in California although both Minneapolis and Reno are still options.

But before relocating, Becca and Garrett will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Thailand, where they shared special moments together on The Bachelorette. The show also gifted the couple with a minivan, which Garrett drove up to the mansion in on Night 1.
