The Bachelorette viewers were therefore surprised to see Charity give Dotun a second solo date the very next week in New Orleans, LA, when the couple had a blast participating in a local marathon.
During the July 27 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast, Charity explained of the 30-year-old integrative medicine specialist from Brooklyn, NY, "With Dotun, we see him as someone who has this extreme emotional depth to him."
Charity told the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt that viewers could probably see how her conversations with Dotun were deep and intellectual right from their first one-on-one.
"When I'm with him, there are a lot of things we talk about and that I haven't necessarily shared with a lot of the other people," she said.
"So I think, for me, that was almost stimulating in the sense that it left me wanting or craving for more."
Charity therefore said that once she traveled from Washington to New Orleans, she wanted to keep the momentum going with Dotun.
"That [second one-on-one] date was super early. We did the Crescent City Classic run, and so it was an early morning. When I knew I was doing that date and I had to figure out who I wanted to take on that date, I obviously did go down the line of who possibly I could take and what that would be like," Charity recalled.
"But with Dotun, it was like, 'Yeah! Why not? Let's continue our connection."

Charity, however, was well aware that her decision would probably upset or disappoint her other bachelors.

"Obviously it did rub a lot of the other guys wrong, especially [Aaron Bryant] because that was a city that was super relevant to him," Charity acknowledged, referencing how Aaron lived in New Orleans prior to moving to California.
"But at that time, there was a lot going on and I honestly didn't even think of that."
Although Charity's date with Dotun left the other guys jealous and feeling a tad overlooked, Charity apparently has no regrets about the decision.
"With Dotun, there's something special and it was a special time that we had, that we got to spend in New Orleans together," Charity shared.
"And so, yeah, I'm not regretful for giving him two one-on-ones back-to-back."
Dotun, Aaron B., Joey Graziadei, and Xavier Bonner are Charity's Final 4 bachelors who will receive a hometown date next week on The Bachelorette's twentieth season.
Charity previously admitted that she fell in love with more than one bachelor while filming her The Bachelorette season.

"I will be honest, I don't think I did [brace myself]. I don't think I prepared myself for that possibility because, I mean, in the real world, you don't have the opportunity to date multiple people at the same time and then form these connections," Charity explained.
"So for me, [falling in love with multiple people] definitely came as a shock. I was like, 'How do I help myself with this and process what I'm feeling?'"
Charity said journaling helped her self-reflect and navigate complex emotions as her journey to find The One neared its end.
Season 12 The Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher -- who co-hosted the Barbie group date in Episode 3 of The Bachelorette's 20th season alongside her husband Jordan Rodgers -- recently teased that Charity was "torn" between her suitors.
But Charity apparently followed her heart and it didn't lead her astray.
"I will say that [my gut and intuition] were spot on this season, like, spot on!" the 27-year-old child and family therapist revealed during a recent appearance on the "Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe" podcast.
"This season has truly taught me a lot more about trusting my intuition, because it wasn't wrong."
Still though, Charity described her Fantasy Suites as "rocky" and her finale as extremely "emotional." She warned viewers earlier this summer to "put your seatbelts on" for this wild ride.
