The Bachelorette star Tayshia Adams reportedly told her cast of bachelors she didn't want to get engaged at the end of her journey on The Bachelorette's 2020 season.

Tayshia felt the need to tell her suitors she wouldn't be ready for a marriage proposal by The Bachelorette finale, according to Us Weekly.

"I told them, 'I don't think I'm gonna get engaged at the end of this, I think I might just leave with a boyfriend or whatever,' and they [understood] and said, 'We're not gonna pressure you to do anything,'" Tayshia, 30, told the magazine's Bachelor Happy Hour podcast on Tuesday.

"You do what your heart wants, so I didn't ever really feel that pressure of, 'Oh my God, I need to find a husband right now.' So I just kind of lived my journey how I wanted to."

Although Tayshia's journey on the show didn't begin until a couple of weeks in due to Clare Crawley's initial stint on The Bachelorette, Tayshia assured Us that she had "enough" time with her group of guys.

"I don't really think I had too short of a time. That was a fear that I had," Tayshia said.

In addition to the 16 "leftovers" Tayshia began dating after Clare got engaged to Dale Moss, the former phlebotomist was also introduced to four new suitors -- Peter Giannikopoulos, Noah Erb, Montel Hill and Spencer Roberston -- in the episode that aired Tuesday night.

However, Tayshia now only has 19 guys in the running for her heart since Jason Foster chose to quit the show due to his lingering feelings for Clare.

"I feel like the guys really showed who they were and what they had to offer and I did the same. When you know you know, I think," Tayshia shared.

"Either you have an attraction to someone or you don't, and I feel like that's what I kept leaning into."

Producers reached out to Tayshia to replace Clare as The Bachelorette star after Clare fell in love with Dale only 12 days into filming.

Tayshia told Us that she was given only 48 hours to decide whether she wanted to accept the torch Clare would pass on mid-season.

"I mean, in a perfect Bachelor world, according to them... I would be in the car an hour after my conversation with them. They were hoping I would leave that day, but I actually said I needed to think about it, and I needed to talk to my parents and I need to take a minute," Tayshia recalled.

"The way I was entering The Bachelorette space was very unconventional, very true to 2020."

Tayshia apparently needed some time to think things over because she'd have a lot on her plate stepping into Clare's shoes.

"I was taking on a little more, I think, than previous Bachelorettes have in the sense that there was somebody before me and I was gonna ask the guys to not only remove themselves from that headspace, but then take me on and see if they were willing to be open," Tayshia explained.

Tayshia therefore asked for 48 hours, which included sleep.

"[I told the producers], 'You guys, I need to go to CVS, I need to get my little necessities.' I'm like, 'I need to run and do some errands, I need to go to church!'"

But everything worked out exactly as it should have, according to Tayshia.

"As crazy as it sounds, I think this introduction to being the Bachelorette was the best way possible for me," Tayshia acknowledged.

"Sure, it would've been fun to have been announced the way everybody else has and all that kind of stuff, but I think the way that I entered and I met all of these guys was perfect."

Tayshia continued, "I feel like if I had too much time, I might've done what Clare would've done, like, looked up all these guys on Instagram, kind of had an idea on who I wanted to talk to, you know what I mean?"

(ABC released an initial cast of bachelors for Clare in March, followed by a revised list of 42 men in July. And then after quarantine and COVID-19 testing, 31 guys actually appeared on Clare's season and got to date her.)

Tayshia said she was glad she went into the journey with no expectations or preconceived notions about any of the men.

"I just went into it just honestly giving it my all and leaning into the process and honestly being me," Tayshia shared.

"And I loved that I didn't know anything about them and they knew nothing about me. They didn't know who was coming through those doors. I loved it all. I thought it was amazing."

Tayshia recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight she fell in love with multiple men on her season and ended up saying "I love you" multiple times to one or more guys.

Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone reported in September producers had planned all along for Tayshia to replace Clare at some point in the season and the women's storyline was pre-meditated; however, ABC executive Robert Mills has denied that's the case.

When asked whether the Clare and Tayshia switch-up was made-for-TV, Robert told Variety in a recent interview, "It is insane. You just think, 'Oh my gosh, I swear we didn't plan this.'"

"There really wasn't the luxury of time, so it was really instinctual," he said, adding that the guys had "checked out" from dating Clare about three episodes into the season and so producers reached out to Tayshia.

Tayshia first appeared on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor and was eliminated during his round of overnight Fantasy Suite dates.

Tayshia was widely reported to be a frontrunner to star on The Bachelorette's fifteenth season last year, but the position ultimately went to Hannah Brown.

Tayshia therefore appeared on the 2019 edition of Bachelor in Paradise, where she fell in love with John Paul Jones but dumped him before the season concluded.

While the couple briefly reconciled and began dating in the real world after leaving Paradise, Tayshia and John Paul ultimately split in October 2019.

Just days before Clare was announced as The Bachelorette's Season 16 leading lady, Tayshia admitted to ET that she would be "ready" for the gig.

"I have to say, anything that comes my way, I am ready for," Tayshia shared in late February. "I am ready for love!"
